00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
00:19The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all, and with your spirit.
00:26Dear brothers and sisters, as we now join together for the celebration of Holy Mass, we celebrate today the feast, the memory of Our Lady of Loreto, one of the titles of Our Lady as we begin, no, as we continue our journey towards Bethlehem, towards Christmas.
00:44In the year 2019, Pope Francis asked that this feast be inscribed in the general Roman calendar, the calendar of our liturgical celebrations, and be celebrated throughout the world.
00:56And so today we have this feast, commemorating the Holy House of the Holy Family of Nazareth.
01:02So we pray in a special way for those who travel by air, for aviators, because Our Lady of Loreto is their special patroness.
01:10But also for every family, because we celebrate in this mystery that God, in His goodness, designed for His own Son to live in family life of Mary and Joseph.
01:23We also pray for Bishop Charles as we celebrate today the anniversary of his priestly ordination, many years ago back in Adelaide.
01:32Dear brothers and sisters, let us acknowledge our sins, and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred mysteries.
01:41You were sent to heal the contrite of heart. Lord, have mercy.
01:45You came to call sinners. Christ, have mercy.
01:48You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us. Lord, have mercy.
01:56May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life. Amen.
02:03Let us pray.
02:04O God, who, fulfilling the promise made to our fathers, chose the Blessed Virgin Mary to become the Mother of the Savior,
02:16grant that we may follow her example, for her humility was pleasing to you, and her obedience profitable to us.
02:25Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.
02:34Amen.
02:39A reading from the prophet Isaiah.
02:42To whom could you liken me, and who could be my equal, says the Holy One?
02:48Lift your eyes and look.
02:51Who made these stars, if not he who drills them like an army, calling each one by name?
02:58So mighty is his power, so great his strength, that no one fails to answer.
03:05How can you say, Jacob, and how can you insist, Israel?
03:09My destiny is hidden from the Lord.
03:12My rights are ignored by my God.
03:15Did you not know?
03:18Had you not heard?
03:19The Lord is an everlasting God.
03:23He created the boundaries of the earth.
03:26He does not grow tired or weary.
03:28His understanding is beyond fathoming.
03:31He gives strength to the wearied.
03:34He strengthens the powerless.
03:37Young men may grow tired and weary.
03:39Youths may stumble.
03:41But those who hope in the Lord renew their strength.
03:45They put out wings like eagles.
03:48They run and do not grow weary.
03:52Walk and never tire.
03:54Oh, bless the Lord, my soul.
04:07My soul, give thanks to the Lord, all my being.
04:10Bless his holy name.
04:12My soul, give thanks to the Lord and never forget all his blessings.
04:18Oh, bless the Lord, my soul.
04:20It is he who forgives all your guilt, who heals every one of your ills, who redeems your life from the grave, who crowns you with love and compassion.
04:32Oh, bless the Lord, my soul.
04:34The Lord is compassion and love, slow to anger, and rich in mercy.
04:40He does not treat us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our faults.
04:46Oh, bless the Lord, my soul.
04:50Alleluia, alleluia.
04:53The Lord is coming to save his people.
04:56Happy are those prepared to meet him.
04:59Alleluia.
05:02The Lord be with you.
05:04A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
05:08Glory to you, O Lord.
05:09Jesus exclaimed,
05:12Come to me, all you who labor and are overburdened, and I will give you rest.
05:19Shoulder my yoke and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
05:29Yes, my yoke is easy and my burden light.
05:34The Gospel of the Lord.
05:38Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
05:40Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
06:09for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you.
06:12Fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.
06:34Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
06:36for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you.
06:40Fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink.
06:44May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and the glory of his name,
06:48for our good and the good of all his holy church.
06:54Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
07:09May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and the glory of his name,
07:14for our good and the good of all his holy church.
07:16Accept, O Lord, these offerings, and by your power, change them into the sacrament of salvation,
07:25in which, fulfilling the sacrifices of the fathers,
07:28is offered the true Lamb, Jesus Christ your Son,
07:32born of the ever-Virgin Mary in a way beyond all telling,
07:36who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
07:39The Lord be with you, and with your spirit. Lift up your hearts.
07:47We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
07:50It is right and just. It is truly right and just.
07:54Our duty and our salvation to praise your mighty deeds
07:57in the exaltation of all the saints,
08:00and especially as we celebrate the memory of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
08:05to proclaim your kindness as we echo her thankful hymn of praise.
08:09For truly, even to earth's ends, you have done great things
08:13and extended your abundant mercy from age to age.
08:18When you looked on the lowliness of your handmaid,
08:20you gave us through her, the author of our salvation,
08:24your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
08:26Through him, the host of angels adores your majesty
08:29and rejoices in your presence forever.
08:32May our voices, we pray, join with theirs
08:34in one chorus of exultant praise as we acclaim.
08:38Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts,
08:43heaven and earth are full of your glory.
08:46Hosanna in the highest.
08:48Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
08:51Hosanna in the highest.
08:53You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
09:03Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
09:05by sending down your Spirit upon them like the doofel,
09:09so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:14At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion,
09:18he took bread, and giving thanks, broke it,
09:22and gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:24Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
09:28for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
09:48In a similar way, when supper was ended,
10:05he took the chalice,
10:19and once more giving thanks,
10:21he gave it to his disciples, saying,
10:23Take this, all of you, and drink from it,
10:25for this is the chalice of my blood,
10:28the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
10:31which will be poured out for you and for many,
10:34for the forgiveness of sins.
10:37Do this in memory of me.
11:01The mystery of faith.
11:17We proclaim your death, O Lord,
11:20and profess your resurrection until you come again.
11:24Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection,
11:28we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation,
11:32giving thanks that you have held us worthy
11:34to be in your presence and minister to you.
11:38Humbly, we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
11:42you may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
11:45Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world
11:48and bring her to the fullness of charity,
11:51together with Leo, our Pope, and Charles, our Bishop,
11:54and all the clergy.
11:54Remember, also, our brothers and sisters
11:58who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection
12:00and all who have died in your mercy.
12:03Welcome them into the light of your face.
12:06Have mercy on us all, we pray,
12:08that with the blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
12:12with blessed Joseph, her spouse,
12:13with the blessed apostles and all the saints
12:16who have pleased you throughout the ages,
12:19we may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life
12:22and may praise and glorify you
12:25through your Son, Jesus Christ.
12:29Through him and with him and in him,
12:31O God, Almighty Father,
12:33in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
12:36all glory and honor is yours
12:38forever and ever.
12:41Amen.
12:41At the Savior's command and form by divine teaching,
12:47we dare to say,
12:49Our Father, who art in heaven,
12:52hallowed be thy name,
12:53thy kingdom come,
12:55thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
12:58Give us this day our daily bread
13:00and forgive us our trespasses
13:02as we forgive those who trespass against us
13:06and lead us not into temptation,
13:09but deliver us from evil.
13:11Deliver us, Lord, we pray,
13:13from every evil.
13:14Graciously grant peace in our days
13:16that by the help of your mercy,
13:18we may be always free from sin
13:20and safe from all distress
13:22as we await the blessed hope
13:24and the coming of our Savior,
13:26Jesus Christ.
13:27For the kingdom, the power,
13:29and the glory are yours
13:30now and forever.
13:32Lord Jesus Christ,
13:33who said to your apostles,
13:34Peace I leave you,
13:35my peace I give you.
13:36Look not on our sins,
13:38but on the faith of your church
13:39and graciously grant her peace and unity
13:42in accordance with your will,
13:44who live and reign forever and ever.
13:47Amen.
13:47The peace of the Lord be with you always.
13:51Let us offer each other the sign of peace.
13:53Peace be with you.
14:05Lamb of God,
14:09Lamb of God,
14:09you take away the sins of the world,
14:11have mercy on us.
14:13Lamb of God,
14:14you take away the sins of the world,
14:17have mercy on us.
14:19Lamb of God,
14:19you take away the sins of the world,
14:22grant us peace.
14:23Peace be with you.
14:23Peace be with you.
14:53Behold the Lamb of God,
15:02behold him who takes away the sins of the world,
15:05blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
15:09Lord,
15:10I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,
15:14but only say the word,
15:16and my soul shall be healed.
15:17My Jesus,
15:20I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
15:24I love you above all things,
15:25and I desire to receive you into my soul.
15:29Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
15:32comely spiritually into my heart,
15:34I embrace you as if you were already there,
15:37and unite myself wholly to you.
15:40Never permit me to be separated from you.
15:43Amen.
15:44Let us pray.
15:48May the mysteries we have received,
15:50O Lord our God,
15:51always show forth your mercy in us,
15:55that we who commemorate in faith the mother of your son
