00:00Here we go. Max Anstey, can he get another 10 points towards the 2025 championship?
00:06Let's drop the gate and find out here in Sweden.
00:14Anstey right there. Can he close it out with the lead? Hicks, yes, Anstey to the lead this time to the start of race number two.
00:22And that's going to be a huge relief for him, Daniel.
00:25And it was all about the execution of the double outside of the first corner.
00:30He went wide open, had a little tiny gap that he had to split, but he did it.
00:35Shoots that double. Oh, they're in a bad spot now because this man has been the fastest once we went racing.
00:41And now he's clear track in front.
00:42Yeah. Lopes right behind him on the Rick Ware racing machine.
00:46That RV's back number 16. You can see the spring getting kicked up as he gets roosted in the backside of Anstey.
00:53Lopes was super quick earlier today. We'll see if he can be just as fast as he has to be here in race number two.
01:01Then you got Hicks back again here on that start.
01:04And then the other Rick Ware bike with Cody Schock on it sitting in fourth.
01:08And Cullen Park with a good start in fifth.
01:11And if you're Lopes right now, you are back-to-back Super Bowl winners, which has to feel good.
01:17But you've got to take that to the races.
01:19And in Australia, it didn't go so good for him.
01:21Then this last one, sprint race number one, he's up front.
01:24He goes down.
01:25So maybe a little bit of vengeance in this one, a little bit of a rebound.
01:29Take it to Max Anstey.
01:30Get in there and be aggressive early because if the gap grows any more than about a second and a half,
01:34it's really hard to recover on the 99.
01:37Look at how they were really tiptoeing their way around that tight right-hand corner, Daniel.
01:41Well, right now they're in that weird spot of, hey, the track is soft.
01:45It's beat up.
01:45But at the same time, I can be really aggressive in spots.
01:49And the track crew is doing their best to get in there and work on it.
01:52But they can only pick and choose where to make those improvements.
01:55Right now, they're learning, where can I be aggressive and where do I have to be extra conscious?
01:59Battle's starting to brew four-third as Cody Schock is closing in on Michael Hicks.
02:04Keep your eyes on that one.
02:05Here they come.
02:06There's Hicks.
02:07There's Schock.
02:08And then right behind Schock is Cullen Park.
02:10And Shane McElrath has climbed up to sixth.
02:13He wants to have a shot of this on that quadlock Honda.
02:17And he's got to make up some ground here early.
02:19But good luck with the competition.
02:21Cullen Park has been fantastic this season.
02:23Cody Schock as well.
02:25But this battle up front is pretty tight.
02:28I saw Max Anstey actually take a peek over his shoulder on the finish line jump.
02:31I know, Ralph, last week, Hayden Deegan in the 450 class was doing some of that as well.
02:36But I think for Anstey, that was more of a, who is this?
02:39Who do I got in a second?
02:40How do I have to play this?
02:41Because he has played this class so well this year because he knows his competition.
02:46Looking over your shoulder is not horrific to do.
02:48It's a matter of when and where you do it on the racetrack.
02:51Exactly.
02:52If you're doing it because you want to understand the battle that's happening, you don't know who it is, that's one thing.
02:57If it's because maybe you stuffed someone really hard in the corner before and you're wondering if they're going to get you back, that's a completely other thing.
03:03I really like the way Michael Hicks is riding here tonight on that Stark Future machine.
03:10Sitting right now still in third on the number 460.
03:16Impressing all the executives in attendance.
03:18Just about everybody from the Stark Factory is here tonight.
03:21Yeah, they have to be happy to with the way he's riding up front, battling with these two Yamahas.
03:26Of course, you have GSM Yamaha's Max Hansi, powered by Star Racing.
03:31The Rick Ware Racing Yamaha team using Club of Mech spikes that they've leased for the season.
03:35Those are two great programs.
03:37And if you're Stark, you're saying, hey, we're right with there.
03:39We're battling with these guys.
03:41We're one of them.
03:42They should be very, very proud of Michael Hicks right now.
03:44That's exactly what Stark was hoping to get out of this season.
03:52In fact, I would say, we heard Anton saying earlier, they were thinking they were going to be top 10.
03:56Heck, you're top 5, top 3 right now.
03:58Battling for podiums.
03:59You like that?
04:00Hey, good ride for Enzo Lopes to bounce back.
04:03And, Ralph, we've seen a lot of that this year.
04:05Riders that make a big mistake bounce back the next race.
04:09Christian Craig's done it.
04:10Hayden Deegan did it.
04:11Ken Rockson's done it.
04:12And in this class, you have Enzo Lopes, who had a terrible race 1 for his standard.
04:17And he's bounced back.
04:18He's looking good in sprint race 2.
04:20This is the type of racetrack where smooth is fast.
04:23And I'll tell you what, Max Anstey is incredibly smooth on this one right now.
04:27And smart.
04:28I'm watching his line choice.
04:29It doesn't matter where he goes.
04:31If he gets forced to the inside, he's just adjusting to that line.
04:34If he goes on the outside, he plays it the way it needs to be played.
04:38And I'll tell you what, who needs to play this thing real aggressive right now
04:41is Cody Schock.
04:42Again, the championship points.
04:44If you're Enzo, that's the man you're looking at.
04:46And every point will matter.
04:47Schock needs this one here.
04:49What I'm surprised at in this race, Daniel, is the mistakes.
04:52They're there, but they've been minor up to this point.
04:55So we haven't seen a lot of movement in positions because nobody is really screwed up.
05:00You're exactly right.
05:01It's been little mistakes, but everyone's staying on the throttle.
05:05So they're kind of powering out of those mistakes.
05:07That's why we haven't seen many changes.
05:09You see riders trying to take different lines here and there.
05:11But as the track gets worse, it kind of equalizes because every line kind of goes away.
05:16So a great observation there.
05:19We haven't seen the big mistake.
05:21Just little tiny ones to stay on the gas and pin it out.
05:23Ah, but we have a lap to go, so anything's a possibility.
05:27Max Anstey trying to get win number 11 on the season.
05:33Man, that is hard to believe we're saying that, right?
05:3511 in a row.
05:37Think of all the things that can go wrong, the mistakes that can happen, the mechanical
05:41problems that can happen.
05:43And Max Anstey and that number 99 Yamaha have been absolutely perfect up to this part
05:48of the season, maybe he's going to sweep the night here in Sweden and clinch another SX2
05:55championship.
05:56You see Noah Viney pulling off the course on the 39, getting out of Max's way.
06:02On that GSM Yamaha, here he come.
06:06Final corner, picks his way around, checker flag awaits, victory number 11 on the season
06:13for Max Anstey.
06:14He's done it again and another 10 points towards the championship in 2025.
06:20Lopes will take second.
06:21Hicks puts the Stark on the podium here at the conclusion of race number two in Sweden.
06:29Cody Schock will be fourth.
06:30Cullen Park will be fifth.
06:33McElrath will take sixth here in race number two.
06:38So the championship looks like this.
