00:00Hi, it's Billy Crystal. Welcome to my hand and footprint ceremony today, right
00:05outside on Hollywood Boulevard, with a lot of naked people. Are they not?
00:18Ladies and gentlemen, Sir William Crystal!
00:25He's already got a star here on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and now comedy
00:29legend Billy Crystal is getting his hand and footprints immortalized in front of
00:32the TCL Chinese Theater.
00:45The comedian even honored one of his iconic roles, also placing the footprint
00:48of his Monsters, Inc. character Mike Wazowski into the cement next to his own.
00:52And it's worth noting that Billy wore the same shoes that he wore when he hosted
00:56the Oscars for the first time. And now there's a brand new Monsters, Inc.
00:59series coming to Disney Plus called Monsters at Work. What inside secrets can you tell
01:02us about it?
01:03It's six months after the first movie ended, after Boo was returned to her family.
01:08Sully and Micah were on the scare floor harvesting the laughs of children to use
01:13as power for Monstropolis. And there's a whole new bunch of characters.
01:18Is that a new haircut? Come on, tell me, it's a new haircut, isn't it? It's got to be a new haircut,
01:22new makeup. You've had a lift, you've had a tuck.
01:24It's been a huge week for you with the anniversary of When Harry Met Sally,
01:27and now this hand and footprint ceremony. What's been the best part of it all?
01:30I think the best, best little part was my grandson bringing up Mike Wazowski's foot
01:36today. Because that's the first movie of mine that they saw that they were able to,
01:42you know, see. Because you can't explain the orgasm scene to a six-year-old.
01:46Yes! Yes! Yes! And with the 30th anniversary of When Harry Met Sally,
01:52why do you think this movie has stood the test of time as an iconic rom-com?
01:56Because it is, it's the truth. It's, it's, it's an amazing movie, I have to say, because
02:03there's no plot. You know, in typical romantic comedies, they go through so much,
02:08there's adversity, he, he had to move, he got drafted, he's in his army, he came back,
02:13they found each other again. No, the obstacle in this movie is themselves.
02:18You directed When Harry Met Sally. You guys just celebrated last night, the 30th anniversary.
02:23Yes, we did. Why do you think the movie has stood the test of time as an iconic rom-com?
02:27I think what works about it is that the dance, it's really all about the dance of what happens to two
02:34people, men and women, and what they go through. And I don't think it's changed much. I mean, the dating
02:40apps and all that stuff. But the basic dynamic between men and women haven't changed. And I
02:44think that's what people hook into. Now, your wife was here today. You shared a very nice moment
02:48together. And so, you guys have been in a relationship now. You've been married almost
02:5349, 50 years. Is that right? What's the secret to a long-lasting relationship like that?
02:58We see other people. It seems to work for us. We laugh. We honest. We talk.
03:05We disagree. We talk about why we disagree. And we've evolved. We grew up together. I was 18
03:13when I met her. She was 17. So now, you know, we're senior citizens. And we're having the time
03:19of our lives. And I think it's just keeping the conversations going. And just, when you can laugh,
03:26laugh big. That's it here from the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood. For The Hollywood Reporter News,
03:31I'm Tiffany Taylor.
