00:00Bill O'Reilly has entered THR's no-spin zone. The Hollywood Reporter's Marissa Guthrie spoke
00:07to the former Fox News host to discuss his firing amidst claims of sexual harassment,
00:12President Trump's missteps and a possible TV return. The ex-host of The O'Reilly Factor was
00:17pursued publicly by One America News, but by June the head of the company had tweeted that he was
00:22pulling his offer. O'Reilly told Guthrie that whilst he has had offers to return to TV and
00:27there are some interesting projects in development, he has yet to decide what he is going to do.
00:46The conversation turned inevitably to President Donald Trump. When asked about the president's
00:51statements after the rallies in Charlottesville, in which Trump blamed the violence on both sides,
00:56O'Reilly replied,
01:18O'Reilly also addressed Trump's loyalty to him during his final weeks at Fox News, saying,
01:23He was a stand-up guy. He's very loyal to his friends. I think he understands that no one was
01:29mistreated on my watch because that's the truth. He knows the politics of it because he has been in
01:34the same circumstance, accused, and the press will take any allegation and make it a conviction.
01:40And while O'Reilly refused to comment specifically about the sexual harassment claims against him
01:44that surfaced in April, he did speak about what really bothered him when it came to his 20-year
01:49career at Fox News ending abruptly.
01:51It was purely a business decision, O'Reilly told Guthrie. But the way it was done,
01:55I'm over in Rome on vacation. My legal team was caught by surprise because we had an amazing
02:00amount of exculpatory stuff that we had presented. And it just, it was sad. That's the word, sad.
