Fox News is not happy with hosts Sean Hannity and Jeanine Pirro for appearing on-stage at a Trump campaign rally last night.
Transcript
00:00Fox News host Sean Hannity is in hot water with the network after appearing on stage at a Trump
00:05campaign rally last night. Fox News released a statement saying,
00:08"...Fox News does not condone any talent participating in campaign events. We have
00:13an extraordinary team of journalists helming our coverage tonight, and we are extremely proud of
00:18their work. This was an unfortunate distraction and has been addressed." This comes as a surprise
00:23to the network, seeing as Hannity previously took to Twitter to clarify that he would not
00:27appear on stage at the rally a day after Trump's campaign had announced him as a special guest
00:32at the rally in Missouri. In a tweet posted to his Twitter page, the cable news host said,
00:37"...to be clear, I will not be on stage campaigning with the president. I'm covering final rally
00:41for my show, something I've done in every election in the past."
00:45Hannity did end up interviewing Trump before the rally, but then the president called him
00:49on stage and referred to him as a longtime supporter of the Make America Great Again movement.
00:54"...I had no idea you were going to invite me up here," Hannity told the president before calling
00:58the assembled media fake news and rallying for the president. However, on Tuesday, he clarified
01:04his attack on Twitter,
01:05"...to be clear, I was not referring to my journalist colleagues at Fox News in those remarks.
01:09They do amazing work day in and day out in a fair and balanced way, and it's an honor
01:14to work with such great professionals." Hannity's Monday night appearance seemed to cross a line
01:19for the network, which had told reporters previously that he would only be interviewing
01:23the president and would not be a special guest at the event in contrast to what Trump's
01:27campaign had announced.
