00:00I know you love it but I'm gonna send the brakes out we've got other things to
00:03do okay well it will make it easier up on a proper lift yeah exactly it's your
00:08circuit system isn't it yeah that's true Henry you've left your toolkit lying
00:13out was that mine can I just say my toolkit as you know comprises of two
00:20things yeah a credit card and a mobile phone we're back oh loving this scouring
00:27Britain sheds for classic cars a thing of beauty proper special quintessential
00:33Brits that's nice a Lee Francis American icons look at the amount of chrome on
00:39the front there and continental curios that is a Lancia Aprilia we're gonna buy
00:46them thank you so much sort them it's the sunroof no please I'm getting out now
00:52drive them and sell them for a tidy profit oh we're in the money this is
00:59Sheddenberry's classic cars we're on our way to rugby and fuzz is in the grump
01:12you got me down there in the morning and then you told me where we're going we're
01:18going to just outside rugby to go and see mark who lives yeah 10 minutes away
01:24from my house I could have had a lie-in yeah I'm really sorry about that you
01:30didn't want to drive did you no thanks so much because he's local to you yeah I
01:35know you don't know him but no I don't know but he's a he's something of a
01:41wizzo engineer oh is he yeah he is I think he has a nice line in sort of
01:46hand-built race cars and the like and stuff like that so it's a bit of an
01:51engineer expensive stuff mate yeah he's got some other stuff I can't see you
01:56buying a period race car financially I don't think we can can we no I haven't
02:01made enough money for a while anyway just outside of rugby that's good enough for
02:07me I mean maybe on the way back you can drop me up oh wait a minute no my
02:12car's in yours that's such a shame isn't it you're gonna have to drive me home
02:16whether we come back with a race car and an empty wallet to cheer fuzz up who
02:24knows but rugby here we come
02:26mark yes I can see a great Fergie I can see an Albion but then again I can see
02:38sports cars and things so just and bikes and bikes yeah go on then well it's
02:42addictive I know you start you can't seem to stop yeah and you set out to make
02:48room for something so you sell sell a few but you don't generally don't sell and
02:52you just keep collecting yeah just yeah you have to buy somewhere the bigger
02:56barn so what is for sale though is everything else for sale or well there's
03:00one or two for sale okay well look I'll tell you what we'll do we'll have a
03:03rummage about I might call you in and ask you on some things yeah yeah that we're
03:07not sure about yeah and then at the end hopefully we'll have a haggle yeah yeah
03:11that's it yeah we're looking forward to that bit fantastic all right lovely
03:15jubbly okay well I think we'll start I want to start down there yeah I just got
03:19this feeling that downhill is always good yeah yeah my career yeah come on you're
03:23certainly going that way yeah yeah watch it see you in a minute yeah all right
03:29look at them look at that in there what do you mean to oh I don't like them oh now
03:36look at this they're the ugliest Aston Martin I've ever seen in my life are you
03:41going to get you out of your mind I don't like DB two fours the Aston Martin DB two
03:49four was the four-seater version of the classic DB two though not as fast as its
03:54predecessor and often overlooked today DB two fours sell for two hundred thousand
04:01pounds upwards why have they suddenly gone through the roof this has been a
04:06late boss mate everybody's looking at the DB fours and sixes we're talking ugly
04:11duckling turning into a beautiful swan yeah and suddenly everybody realizes that
04:16these have turned into swans apart from me honestly these are beautiful but they're
04:21out of our price range for something more affordable he's got a couple of
04:27tractors and several trials bikes generally speaking I think he's into
04:32motorsport yeah on tractors if you're into motorsport occasionally you might
04:36need to pull something out of a hedge yeah especially if I'm driving okay mate
04:42well look the DKW is rather nice yeah obviously we're here for a car
04:49outside there are more tractors than some classic trucks
04:55he's got a Ford D series that tires like my lungs well yeah but at least that
05:01can be inflated yeah a 1975 Bedford TK TK was one of the well-beating truck
05:11designs of the early 1960s yeah and I think in certain far-flung parts of the
05:17world yes there's still much revered and tucked into a container oh now yeah look at
05:24that that is a mark one is it it is 1967 68 oh I quite like these
05:31nicknamed Britain's most wanted van by the Metropolitan Police the Ford Transit
05:39mark one was hugely popular with both tradesmen and bank robbers several
05:44engines and body types were available enabling it to carry significant loads oh
05:50look it's got a pickup back to it it has as well that's very nice actually
05:55hang on it's left-hand drive again
05:57it is yeah but that's okay you don't mind a left-hand drive vehicle do you where's
06:01mark mark where's it come from so a friend of mine he found it in a German
06:06wood yard back was loaded up with planks when he picked it up yeah he brought it
06:10back here and we purchased it yeah so you got it running and everything yeah it's
06:14all up and running so is it for sale yeah it could be for sale okay and it's
06:19carried plenty of planks around before so it could do a few more couldn't it yeah I
06:22am a plank yeah I think I was including myself well I'm more flat pack apart from a
06:28bit of a bulge there yeah UK registered now ready to go it sounds good hey look
06:33well look we've got another shed to go come on
06:37Mark's main shed is a veritable cornucopia with MGs triumphs and my
06:44favorite a Rolls-Royce silver spirit now this is a lovely color combination isn't it
06:50so we got it it's just you to go this is a lovely color combination when
06:55actually there is a Rolls-Royce in front of you the silver spirit was the last of
07:02the hand-built Rolls-Royces with a powerful V8 engine and luxurious trim and
07:07fitments as I get older yeah I quite like the idea of having a roller like this I
07:17kind of sort of feel that it's a bank robber done well well you well I suppose
07:22yeah but you wouldn't use one of these to actually rob a bank no no would you no
07:26use a transit mark one yes yes that's what you want to be able to carry stuff
07:30out whereas this is is what you buy with your spoils once once they've been
07:35laundered a little this is the legacy isn't it yeah of doing rather well there's
07:42still no sign of all those race cars but on route to his last shed we spot
07:47something hey now what is this have you seen the number plate woof I have W-O-F yeah
07:54that's a Birmingham Birmingham issued registration and I think
07:58in Birmingham yeah okay well look I'm sorry we should be looking at cars but just
08:02stopping off here that's Villiers 250 pad maybe it's a Panther or something that
08:07looks like a a nice probably late 50s very early 60s yeah bike I like it
08:12yeah let's go over there yeah great
08:19Wow very special cars in here Mark's final shed fully lives up to the hype with a
08:28collection of classic race cars including two Coopers and this fabulous MG
08:34Mark here come on in tell me about this is amazing yeah 1934 MG Q type one of only
08:42eight first one built would have been a two-seater originally they all were two
08:46seaters winter of 34 to 35 it was converted to single seater by Thompson and
08:52Taylor's right to race the outer circuits at Brooklands so what sort of speeds
08:57would that have been achieving at the time oh well you have a look at the rev
09:00counter in there which of the original rev counter from when it raced at
09:03Brooklands it is geared for twenty four point seven five miles per hour per
09:08thousand so it's around about six and a half thousand hundred and forty miles an
09:11hour 140 miles an hour in that get on for that that would have been utterly
09:18terrifying I won't bother checking the price of any of these race cars all the
09:24beautiful four seater MG midget next door which looks like it's seen a few
09:29weddings but we have to get something clearly there's a lot of stuff that's
09:35going to be out of our range yeah well we can find out yeah there was that
09:39transit that I liked yeah yeah that's where we could try the D series yeah the D
09:45series that looks pretty good it's not Bedford this is lovely I mean it'd be we
09:49we can only ask can't we way out of line yeah should we go and see Mark yeah come on then
09:54where are we going to start there's a couple of Bedford trucks I know the blue one's a TK yeah TK's mine
10:05Laura use it quite a bit if it being a tip it's quite useful it could be bought but uh probably carry a bit of a premium would it yeah all right I don't like premiums no no I'm not going to talk about the two four no you can well I'm not going to talk about the two four
10:17no you can well I do like the two four but I doubt that's for sale and I doubt it's within our budget
10:24anyway no well my father bought that 40 odd years ago and we just right commissioned it uh it's been
10:30off the road for 39 years yeah it's been back on the road wow so we're yeah no that one's got to stay
10:36that one there is a bike in there panther is it how much of that but um wow somewhere around about
10:43two thousand okay maybe a bit of wiggle room in that okay mate all right all right okay now we opened
10:50up a container oh yeah and in there there was a little transit flatbed yes so is that for sale uh
10:56yeah I think we'd need to be somewhere around six thousand mark for that okay what was it again
11:02yeah six six thousand that yeah but uh we might be a bit of wiggle room in it all right unless we have
11:08a deal with a bike as well and we can put that on the back five grand yeah no might need to be a tad
11:13more than that what about five two yeah how about uh about five seven
11:21we're up in rugby with mark and his eclectic collection of race cars and lorries we've bid
11:40five thousand five hundred for a mark one transit but will he go for it about squeeze another 50
11:47pounds each between you can't you five six i don't know mate it's time well i've made him spend a bit
11:52of money recently and he's looking at looking at me now i'll tell you what what about if i give you
11:58the hundred all right yeah we're in a deal at five six yeah okay well done mark we're going to talk
12:05about a panther shall we load that on the back as well no no no i just the thing is is that i believe
12:10that that panther i would think it's nearer the 1200 quid do you know what i mean yeah i think we could
12:16about strap it on the back for 1200 pounds has it got v5 yeah it has yeah and the original buff
12:21but yeah okay all right okay all right great a double purchase didn't expect that that's a double
12:28whammy i never ever expected that hey mark thank you so very much what a lovely day
12:32on the following afternoon we reveal all have you seen the transit mark two or mark one it's a mark one
12:42it's amazing 67 the color is just nice as well yeah the tires look good is it all running up and
12:47nice and going well supposedly yeah i love the background the back's really cool yeah it is
12:52isn't it yeah it's got that oh that's what it's for that bit of scaph across the back is so you can
12:57lean things up then your planks yeah ladders is it the case then yes with these pickups that the pickup
13:04is actually more valuable than the actual van itself if you see what i mean well i i think in any case
13:11an early transit is a valuable piece of kit anyway and because this one's got an original back on it
13:17in very nice condition i think it's a remarkable survivor you know what i think about this what
13:23what i think that it looks like yeah a scrap man's vehicle it does actually yeah yeah colin's
13:29you know sort of all right can you do try that henry any old iron that's it iron any old iron
13:37you've got you've got to get it with a bit more of a oh okay okay that's it that's the one
13:45perfect perfect can you blow a bugle that's what we're going to do then we're going to go and collect
13:51iron we're going to go and collect scrap okay so look what i think we should do obviously get it
13:56going clean it up but i also think we should put some decals get pete pete the signwriter in
14:02colin's son scrap dealer as for the panther with the villiers lump it doesn't look as though it's
14:07run for a while i'm sure it'll be no trouble for the engine whisperer it's late in the day
14:14tomorrow you get working on that yeah right and fuzz and i'll have a look over on the transit okay
14:19next day we're up with the lark oi i just said in my head then sorry did you yeah lucky you've got
14:32some cushioning on there but while alan's having a fiddle in there yeah yeah with the motorcycle
14:38you'll be taking for a test ride well i'm just pre-empting that because i'm just checking
14:43the fluids is that ready to go yeah sure come on all right come on so our ford transit rides again
14:55what's that have you shrunk no you're so low look my seat has collapsed yeah it's it's lost its stuffing
15:06and in fact over one side so over this side yeah there's a bit more stuffing there's a bit more
15:11of support but on this side that's not where i think you know the previous operative of this
15:17machine yeah has got in and out all the time it's broken the seat after its incarceration in that
15:26container the good news is our transit runs but it's not quite perfect what are the problems here
15:33your seat is a problem yeah tick over's a bit high yeah it is uh maybe we've got a little bit of
15:40steering wander have we so yeah just a little bit so maybe we can have a look at that yeah maybe but
15:46also i noticed that the tires are a bit cracked so the steering kind of stodginess really sort out of
15:52the bonnet as well so that's our shopping list for the transit but how much does alan have to do on
16:00the panther but we've got a problem the kickstart spring's broken and then henry and fuzz didn't get
16:05the key for the bike so he hasn't got the key for the bike we can't see if the ignition works so what
16:10i'm going to do is take this cover off and see if i can bypass the ignition switch to get it to run
16:13doesn't appear to have a battery fitted which is really strange i've had a good look around there's
16:17no battery at all so it seems to be direct lighting and direct ignition so let's get this cover off and
16:21see what we can see according to mark this bike was last run in 1982 it looks as if someone has been
16:29tinkering with it so the first thing i want to do is remove this little cover to expose the ignition
16:35points i notice it's only got one screw and that screw is loose as well which means someone's
16:39obviously been in there before quite recently so the gear lever oh which is actually loose
16:44that comes on kickstart is actually bolted on but the nuts are loose i think someone's been in here
16:51trying to get this working and giving up anyway that's the transit running they're going to arrive
17:00without me leaving here working on this bike in fact we've just returned home and fuzz is starting
17:06on the transit well we've got a number of little problems with this transit so one thing we've got
17:14this dent right here so it'd be nice to get that out but the trouble is with that is we've got a
17:24double skin underneath here there's this reinforcement piece that stops this all flapping around at the
17:30front and so that means that it's difficult to get out so i'm going to have to drill some holes and
17:36then try and use some drifts just to tap this little dent out fuzz begins by drilling some pilot holes
17:47before using a larger drill bit to puncture the inner skin once he's in he improvises using the wrong
17:56end of a drift a kind of punch tool to carefully bang out the dent from the inside
18:01it takes one more hole and a lot more banging i'm not really hitting it that hard i'm just trying
18:11to tease it out but after half an hour fuzz is happy what i'm not going to do is chase this too much
18:26we've got the dent out a little bit now it's kind of less of a crease so that's a bit better maybe
18:33just rub this down a little bit and perhaps leave it for the next owner we'll have to we'll have to
18:38see maybe we'll get a bit of time to fill it but if not looks a tiny bit better i suppose the one
18:44thing i ought to check now is now that we've made it slightly less concave does the bonnet actually
18:53still shut it does actually shuts a little bit better
19:01alan meanwhile has taken the cover off the panther's engine he was just about to hot wire it
19:10when he had a bit of luck i was about to cut the wires i was looking around the workshop i found some
19:16keys i thought i wonder if they're going to fit i'll put it in the lock and it didn't quite fit
19:20it went in it wouldn't quite turn
19:21alan takes the lock back to the lathe to grind it into a perfect fit and then reassembles it on the
19:30engine what a stroke like it was behind these keys they fit almost perfect but now they fit
19:36absolutely perfect and the lock works great so we've got ignition off ignition on it works how cool is
19:42that so the ignition switch is sorted but will it run alan refits the engine panel and mends the spring
19:51fitting on the kickstart when the kickstart returns how cool is that when he gives it a kick though
19:59his winning streak runs out no spark at all totally dead meanwhile outside are you ready
20:09the transit's engine is also not quite playing ball and won't idle properly
20:18it's just a bit cold at the moment but once the choke comes off if i adjust
20:24the screw it just operates on the throttle butterfly this engine the s6 v4 was used in everything from
20:34the transit to the capri and even in early models of the ford granada
20:40fuzz adjusts the tick over screw and the mixture screw and it all sounds much sweeter
20:49that's quite nice now
20:53okay then we'll leave it at that because once we put the air filter back on that'll
21:02just slightly enrich in the mixture and i think it'll be absolutely spot on
21:08and talk about spot on alan's now clean the points and swap the spark plugs
21:15and after a quick glug of fuel he's ready to go
21:19all right chokes on let's give it a kick and see what happens
21:24oh this is quite exciting really it's either going to work or it's not going to work but hopefully it will work
21:28let's see
21:29it's definitely fired
21:35she runs perfect and the ignition switch works how cool is that let's go for a second start
21:52and it's on two cylinders as well it's running just perfect
22:07i'm so chuffed that's been quite a lot of work but it's been well worth it in the end
22:11so the panthers almost fit to prowl but there's still work to do on the transit
22:16our aim is to take it scrapping this weekend but can we get it ready in time
22:21that is going to have to be changed it's an easy job but can we get a ball joint for it
22:30we had a good day yesterday fettling the transit and our panther bike
22:46she runs perfect
23:00there are still some gremlins to sort out on the transit starting with a faulty door handle
23:06let's have a look inside here because what we have is a non-functioning driver's side door button
23:16i think basically the internals of the door button have pushed through and beyond the little lever that
23:25they work on so i'm going to uh i'm going to take the door handle off and see if i can well actually
23:31maybe i'll just see if i can get a screwdriver up there and just flick it back because it might
23:36just need that let's see see what we can do it sounds too good to be true but after a quick jiggle
23:45with the screwdriver hold on if i pull that back ah there we go that's gone in now just keep it there
23:53yes so yes that is operating brilliant right all i need to do now is shut the door and see if i can get
24:07in from the outside the proof of the pudding right let's see if it opens yep ah there we go you're coming
24:15out bean the other issue that fuzz noticed on our brief test drive was the steering i just had this
24:22feeling when i was driving this that the steering was just a little bit vague so i asked one of the
24:29fellas to rock the steering and looked underneath here and what i found was an absolutely terminal
24:37drag link ball joint so that is going to have to be changed it's an easy job but can we get a ball
24:46joint for it while we hunt down a spare there's one thing we've got to get on with a bit of artwork
24:53so we've invited pete the sign writer to come on over and just in case it rains on his parade
25:01we've put the transit undercover it's a lovely old truck 1968 so we've just got to put a little bit
25:08of icing on the cake i think come on girls here you are you've had a look at the van yep i've got
25:15this idea pete because we want to go and get some scrap metal right okay and i kind of i don't want
25:21scrap metal on it i want colon suns in the normal way okay right yeah colon suns right and then i
25:28kind of think salvage and it's a nice word the word salvage you've got an ascender a capital s a
25:35descender the g is that what the sign writers call it ascenders and descenders yeah i do yeah
25:39but you're about the only one left pete starts by drawing up his design on paper like that should
25:47be nice salvage there you go mate that looks great while i take jelly and the top for a walk
25:56pete gets to work first he charcoals the back of his design and then he goes over it again with a heavy
26:03pencil in order to copy it onto the door i guess we are now ready to paint then after laying down a
26:11couple of strips of tape to act as guides he gets to work although it's a lovely old thing and it's
26:17in remarkable condition for the age of it i think we'll do the lettering just a little bit worn um to
26:25match the truck pete's chosen a mid blue for the script to give it a vintage look but he's not laying
26:32it on too thick i'm gonna leave it just like that i'm like henry might even get a little bit of wet and
26:41dry or something and just give it a little nib off just to give it a little bit more of a wearer look
26:46while our resident leonardo carries on with the lettering over at the workshop i've got a present
26:53for the panther boys can i draw your attention to these glorious little batches okay yeah i bet those
27:00were cheap do you know what they're about 80 quid i don't know why they're so expensive they're
27:06really nice aren't they well they really are nice greens sand foundry it says anyway look if we can
27:15find some screws and put those on give it a clean and put everything back on is it ready to roll ready
27:22let's go gears where clutch works i can't wait man i'll tell you what i think that's going to be
27:27lovely when it's done with alan and skid getting on with some useful work i play an executive role
27:35right let me do the paint work first please just stay calm for 30 seconds what is the trick alan to
27:44stay calm because you're the calmest out of all three of us breathe let it all go over your head
27:52don't let them get you down and don't let me anywhere near you
27:58the repo badges are as good as i hoped panther ceased production in 1967 but there are still
28:07plenty of spares available mate even though they were hugely expensive it's definitely worth it
28:13that's lovely back in the hangar pete has finished the basic design and is now adding some drop shadows
28:21to reinforce the 70s look to give the lettering even more of a 3d quality he darkens the bottom shadow
28:29with a more charcoal gray see that you see the difference in the two grays you will when it's
28:36outside it's just a little decoration that they should do in the day on lorries and everything
28:42and uh i really like it i i just really like that look
28:46as a finishing touch he paints on a vintage telephone and some telephone numbers
28:54it's only taken a couple of hours but his work has really lifted the transit
28:59that is just what we're after mate look at all that shadowing and that distress here
29:05that's great i love the phone man well that's the phone in the day i guess isn't it 1968
29:11oh mate that is fantastic that's before the trim phone hey but that's really good yeah oh pete that's
29:18pretty that's really added value to it i can't wait to show the boys our fuzz is gonna love it
29:22inspired by pete we up the ante on the panther cleaning and polishing every visible surface
29:34and even giving the front forks a quick shot of rattle can now finally we're ready for our road test
29:43for a bike that's been languishing unloved for years this is a true resurrection
29:49oh mate that is a quality motorcycle quite transformation for a little work isn't it
29:56isn't it just hey yeah really lovely i like that it's a bit different as well i've never seen a
30:01panther 250 before well shall we see if it goes up and down the drive let's do it i think you've got
30:06to yeah come on then yeah and we're off our panther predates the transit by about 10 years and its
30:15villiers engine is a bit rougher than the ford v4 who's complaining though it's just great to get
30:22it back on the road it goes really nicely this it's quite loud though i've got the milk pig
30:30for 1200 quid this is a snip mate it rides nice you pull away very friskily yeah it sounds crisp the
30:45gears you know they're crisp but they're not getting in there every time you've got a sort of hoof them in
30:50clutch is dragging probably yeah it is a bit mate it's beautiful it's really for sale starts runs
30:55and rides yeah that's all you need part sounds the part yeah starts fairly easily yeah what more could
31:01we want well not a lot just some money so the panther's looking good and the transit's looking
31:09great tomorrow after fuzz has sorted the last few niggles we're going to put our transit to work
31:15but will cole and sons turn a profit or will we end up on the scrap heap of life
31:22that's better
31:27oh now yeah look at that two weeks ago we found a vintage ford transit in a container in rugby
31:43around a deal at five six yeah we tested it what's that have you shrunk my seat has collapsed
31:51fettled it and adorned it that's scrap now after fuzz has spent the morning fitting a new air filter
32:03and replacing the ball joint that finally arrived back and forth lovely that's much better it's time
32:13to get our transit to do what it does best now we can go scrap collecting we're dropping the side
32:22look at that hey right i'll get in there all right our transit is the perfect vehicle for a bit of
32:32scrapping starting with our own odds and ends i can't wait to get this one's in the same condition
32:39as you look crusty at least it's not wheezy come on less of the chat the flatbed is 10 square meters
32:48and has a carrying capacity of two tons right storage here we come and we're off our mission
32:57to make a bit of money from our transit before we flog it any old iron that's perfect well with you
33:09it's more a case of bring out your dead oh here we go don't be like long before green bins and blue

33:41what i'm actually i'd pay to see that blowing a bugle with false teeth is not good
33:47the good news is that fuzz's hard work has paid dividends
33:54actually the steering is much better much more positive how is it yeah is it much less wayward
34:02that means the wheel's going to fall off any moment
34:04doesn't it unlike the passengers very wayward and of course the driver but the steering
34:10positive i'm impressed the speedometer works no no everything works here this is growing along

35:34not swinging very fast anymore is it no destroyed my life and steel is just a tenth of the value
35:42hey look i think we've got ourselves quite a stash yeah what do you reckon well why don't we find out
35:47how much we've made out of this little lot and then we'll find out exactly how hard we have to work in
35:53future though archetypal workhorses transit flatbeds were nicknamed little pigs because of their
36:01protruding nose how much though will our own little pig make us when we take it to market
36:07i'm gonna bet you that we are going to earn about 20 quid the lot you reckon yeah what do you reckon
36:18i'm gonna stick my neck out here yeah because of the batteries in the leg yeah i'm gonna go 45

37:09we do yeah if we just put them onto the scales to start with we'll get the weight oh right we weigh
37:13them in yeah we weigh them then you get paid accordingly yeah do we yeah this could be our
37:18first 30p 60 of a car battery's weight is lead about seven kilos in each one
37:26are you sure this is actually going to make a dent in the actual weighing machine well i don't know
37:32we'll find out in a second won't we i mean i think we're saving the planet bit by battery bit
37:38aren't we skid yeah but how long have we wanted to get these out the shed a long time yeah

38:33out as well okay come on then so should we take the van round yep well if you get the sides back up
38:36pull on big bridge so we get the weight of the chuck and the scrap all right okay we'll take it around
38:41next door and then we'll get it off right okay all right okay okay let's put the sides up this is it
38:48with 73 quid in nick already this is just marvelous fuzz does the honors with the transit that's it fuzzer
