00:00105, I want to bounce Detroit.
00:01Stove back for your poppin' R&B.
00:02It's your boy Showtime, the czar.
00:04I have a very special guest in here with me today.
00:06She does a lot of acting.
00:09Okay, you've probably seen her
00:10some of your favorite movies on Tubi and multiple platforms.
00:12But lately, you've been seeing her harass
00:14some of your favorite celebrities as Rich Flex.
00:16We got Taliyah Brianna in studio.
00:19What up, though? Welcome to the show.
00:21Got me stuttering in here.
00:23Thank you for coming, first off.
00:25Happy belated birthday.
00:26Thank you, and thank you for having me.
00:28Always, always. What'd you do for your birthday, man?
00:31I got turnt.
00:31That's what's up.
00:33No, I enjoyed myself. I was with my family.
00:35You lost your voice and stuff, too,
00:36so it definitely sounds like you had a good time.
00:37Yeah, I had a good time.
00:38That's what's up.
00:40So, I want to start from you acting, man.
00:43Where did that, when did you begin that?
00:44Because in high school, that's how I know her.
00:47We went to the same high school.
00:48But you was a cheerleader, now you jumped into acting.
00:51How did you get from cheerleader to acting?
00:53So, I just, acting has always just been my passion.
00:57Like, just being a star, I always saw myself as, like, a star.
01:00I was, grew up Disney, Nickelodeon, so I was just like,
01:04you know what, I used to sign my name on the door,
01:06have my autographs.
01:07You remember the pop magazines and stuff like that,
01:10Bow Wow and everything?
01:11Like, I don't know, I just always had...
01:12We took you back with that one, the pop magazines.
01:13Yeah, for real.
01:14I used to just always have the desire to be, like, a Disney kid.
01:18And just taking it to the next level with my acting,
01:21and just going, persevering from there.
01:24What was your first role that you did?
01:25Do you remember?
01:26I do remember.
01:27So, I did do a play in L.A.
01:29My very first lead role would be Five Minutes,
01:32which is on Tubi now.
01:34Yeah, that was one of my first lead roles.
01:36Your first time acting, were you nervous?
01:39What was that, being in front of the camera?
01:41What was that like, being in front of the camera?
01:43It was definitely exciting.
01:45I was definitely nervous.
01:47I just had to, like, push through it.
01:49I studied my lines within, like, three days of getting the script,
01:53so I was really excited about that.
01:54But just being around, like, so many cameras
01:57and so many people who actually have to portray that role
02:00makes me, like, so nervous,
02:02because it's like, I have to make sure I get it,
02:04because, you know, the directors see a vision,
02:05and you want to put that out so that way it can come together.
02:09What was the role?
02:10What was the character?
02:10From what I remember, I was young, naive.
02:13My name was Kelsey, and I was dating a young man
02:17who just had multiple things going on in his life
02:20that cost him five minutes of his life.
02:22And if you go, that five minutes that took,
02:25you'll have to watch it, because I don't want to tell it, you know?
02:28But for those that didn't watch it,
02:29but for those that did watch it, you will understand a message
02:32on what can happen within five minutes
02:34of just making the wrong decision.
02:36What do you think is the most challenging part about acting?
02:40The most challenging would be, I would say,
02:44becoming that character.
02:46Right. I've...
02:47Because people get stuck in that, I've heard.
02:48They get stuck in it, for sure.
02:50And some people can't put it out there,
02:53because they will compare it to who they really are.
02:55Right.
02:56And not that character.
02:57Have you ran into that, where you was like,
02:59I can't do this character,
03:00because it doesn't align with me as a person?
03:02Yes. I actually had turned down some roles,
03:04just because it wasn't necessarily,
03:07I couldn't become that character.
03:09I just didn't want to have that over my life.
03:11Like, there are certain roles I'll take,
03:13I'll pray over it, because I don't want it to actually happen.
03:17Like, I don't want to speak it into existence.
03:19And then there are some roles, I was just like,
03:21oh, no, I can't. I can't do that, for sure.
03:23Have you played in, like, a comedy, where you're less...
03:27Okay, let me ask you this.
03:28Is it less stressful to play in a comedy,
03:30or where you're acting, like, in a serious role?
03:32Which one is less stressful for you?
03:34Comedy is less stressful.
03:35Comedy is less stressful.
03:36Have you done a comedy yet?
03:37I haven't done a comedy yet.
03:38I feel like you want to.
03:39Yeah, I do.
03:40So I paved my own little lane right now with Rich Flex.
03:43Right, right. Okay, well, you brought him up.
03:45Rich Flex, how did you create that character?
03:47I came up with that character just being at home,
03:50being my goofy self.
03:51I was sitting in the living room with my family,
03:53and I had came outside.
03:55First of all, let me get down to it.
03:57So I graduated esthetician school in March of 2025.
04:03Okay. Congratulations, first off.
04:04Thank you, thank you.
04:06A month later, after graduating, Rich Flex came about.
04:09I used everything that I had professionally
04:12from my esthetician school, I was able to use on my face,
04:14so I just thought that was just God-given.
04:16The whole character is just God-given.
04:18God-ordained, everything is his plan.
04:21So I started being, I joked around.
04:23I'm always so goofy.
04:25I'm in a house just goofing around.
04:26I got these big old shoes on, and I'm walking around the crib,
04:30and everybody's just looking, laughing.
04:31So I put a voice with it, but it wasn't the Rich Flex voice.
04:34It was just me talking like a dude.
04:36I go in the bathroom, I'm like,
04:37oh, I'm about to dress this up a little bit more.
04:39So I put a pencil on, I put the fake beard on.
04:41It was just, I started off with a black pencil.
04:43They started laughing.
04:45I'm like, okay, bet, let's take this to Walmart.
04:47Like, right now, let's go to Walmart right now
04:49and see how much reaction we can get.
04:51I get the reactions that, you know, that I wanted.
04:54I go back, and then I'm showing my dude.
04:58He'd look at it, he like, oh yeah, this is funny.
05:01This next level right now, this next level.
05:02Like, we got to keep doing it.
05:04So we ended up going to Walmart again,
05:06and we just started filming,
05:07and it just started going crazy from there.
05:09And I would just think of, like, what could I do?
05:11To make this even more funnier.
05:13Let me grab a life jacket, put the life jacket on.
05:16Oh yeah, I got to make sure my clothes super big.
05:18I just want to be stupid.
05:20Like, I want to have, like, I want to be,
05:22people be like, oh yeah, that's Rich Flex right there.
05:24You know, I don't want to be the same as everybody else.
05:26I want to be different.
05:27I want the beard to be a certain way.
05:29I want the hat to be a certain way.
05:31Now I want to start creating a voice.
05:33So yeah, and it just came with it like that.
05:35Like, literally everything was just God.
05:37Do you script any of those?
05:40Because a couple of those, not saying they look scripted,
05:42but a couple of those, I was like, dang, is she really,
05:46like the Walmart one just recently with the lady.
05:50She's like, she was real mad.
05:51Yeah, she was.
05:52She was ready to change you out.
05:53So like, have you ever scripted any of those,
05:56or those all be like live and like these raw reactions?
05:59Everything that I do is improv.
06:01My best thing, my, I do it to my best ability
06:04to improv everything that I do.
06:06I don't want nothing to be scripted unless it has to be.
06:09You did a, who was some of the ones that you did an interact,
06:13or did you had, that you had an interaction with?
06:16You was like, I liked that they, you know,
06:19they gave me the right reaction.
06:21Oh, good energy?
06:21Yeah, good energy.
06:23Big Sean and Angela Yee, for sure.
06:25Angela Yee, yeah, yeah.
06:26I liked the, who else did you have that was,
06:31you had, you did a lot of celebrities that was Big Sean, Angela Yee,
06:36you did Boosie, Big X to Plug, Drewski, that was a good one.
06:40Um, Snap Dog.
06:42Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:43So I feel like, oh, then you was in the room with all those comedians.
06:45What was that like?
06:46Oh, with Jack Funny?
06:47Oh my gosh.
06:49So, okay, talking about that, I, I'm still learning, you know,
06:54the concept.
06:54Because you had Mojo Brooks in there, uh, yeah, you had a Jack Funny.
06:58It was the guy who, the funny salesman, you had a lot of, yeah,
07:01comedic energy in that.
07:02So what was that?
07:03That one was crazy.
07:04So a lot of people be like, how do you be so fast with your comebacks?
07:07I have four uncles.
07:09And like, one of my, my, the youngest one is I'm the closest with.
07:13Like, that's like my brother, my dad, my uncle all in one.
07:16And growing up, like, we will always make jokes about each other.
07:20So I'm so, I'm able to be quick with it.
07:22So being around that atmosphere, because of the simple fact that I felt at that time,
07:28like, they had more followers than me, you know what I'm saying?
07:30So it was like, oh, it could be a little intimidating.
07:33And I have to remind myself, like, I'm Rich Flex, I'm not Talia Briana.
07:36So still stand up for yourself, still keep talking, because Rich Flex ain't about to
07:39take nothing from nobody.
07:41So I had to make sure that I'm on the same level.
07:43Because me as a woman is still crazy, like, I'm dressed up as a man.
07:47So I still be having to remind myself, or my manager will be like, you is Rich Flex, bro.
07:52Like, you can't, you're not Talia Briana.
07:54So that's, that's the only challenging part that I normally would go through and just
07:58remind myself, like, I know I'm a woman, but you're a character.
08:02Portray that character, become that character.
08:04And that's what will make it more natural.
08:06You ever get scared that people, like, they won't see you for the acting,
08:10they just want Rich Flex, does that ever bother you?
08:12Like, because you're a great actor.
08:14But do you feel like, I don't want to do too much Rich Flex,
08:17to where it takes away from my acting?
08:19Does that make sense?
08:20Yeah, I get it.
08:21I feel like, um, I felt like Madea walked so Rich Flex can run.
08:27Ooh, I like that, I like that.
08:30I like how Tyler Perry does Madea, Joe, dah, dah, dah.
08:34So I felt like Rich Flex have the capability of doing the same.
08:37So I don't think it'll take anything away from who I am as a person.
08:42Because at the end of the day, I am Talia Briana and I'm portraying Rich Flex.
08:46So, you know what I'm saying?
08:48So it's all, it's, these my babies.
08:50So it's all coming from me, whichever role or any character that I portray.
08:54So I don't think it'll take anything from my value or make me any less than,
08:58because at the end of the day, it'll still be who I am.
09:00If that makes sense.
09:01Yeah, yeah, no, I got you.
09:03Do you, do you have any more characters that you wanted to bring?
09:05Possibly.
09:06Okay.
09:07Yeah, possibly.
09:07You got some ideas, okay.
09:09I was talking with Hubby before you came in here.
09:11And y'all want to do like, turn into like a movie or a complete theme.
09:18Is that, are y'all still working on that?
09:20Or have y'all decided to put that in motion?
09:22Like, what is that?
09:22It's definitely a lot of things in motion for Rich Flex and myself as well.
09:27So it's like, we, we, we slowly build in there.
09:30It's a lot of things.
09:31It's a lot of videos that people still haven't seen yet that I have with celebrities.
09:35It's just a lot of, it's a lot of things that it's just me and him for right now.
09:39You know what I'm saying?
09:40We slowly building our team right now.
09:42Like we finally just got a casting director.
09:44We're looking for another video editor and things like that.
09:47So we're slowly progressing.
09:48So right now it's not seeming like it's working, but we behind the scenes getting working for sure.
09:54Has anybody ever asked you to do like a sketch?
09:56Cause you said yours was, it's just raw, like right there.
09:58So have you ever thought about doing a whole sketch to, with Rich Flex?
10:02I'm open to it.
10:03Okay.
10:03Yeah.
10:03Nice, nice.
10:04I'm open to it.
10:04Now I got to jump back into the acting thing real quick.
10:07For sure.
10:07Um, you in a new movie called Unscripted.
10:09Yes.
10:10Okay.
10:10Can you talk about your character in Unscripted?
10:12Yes.
10:12My name is Tiffany in Unscripted.
10:14She is just more so like a school girl.
10:17She's all about her, her work.
10:19She's very smart, street smart, but she, I mean, she's book smart, but not street smart.
10:23So with her, it's just like, she can be naive when it comes to certain men.
10:27And when it comes to certain things that keeps her off balance and off track when it comes to being
10:32in school, she ends up making some, you know, some decisions because she's so stuck on this guy that
10:38she met and it leads to something at the end, which is a twist.
10:42And it's also a lesson learned for all young ladies that's in couples and relationships right now.
10:46When they brought you the script for this character, what was your first impression?
10:50My first impression was like, what?
10:52Are you serious?
10:54Oh my gosh.
10:55That was actually one of the scripts I had to pray over.
10:57Remember when I said, I don't know if I, yeah, that was one of the scripts I had to pray over
11:00because it's just crazy.
11:02It's shocking.
11:03Are you a very religious person?
11:04I hear you say that you pray a lot.
11:06Oh, I love God.
11:07I don't want to talk about religion or spirituality like that.
11:11I love God, you know, and I know God loves me and I've experienced and encountered God.
11:17So I know he's real to me.
11:18I don't know.
11:19You know, I don't be speaking about that because I don't know.
11:21It's a sensitive topic.
11:22Right, right.
11:23But yes, I pray and I talk to God.
11:25I let God talk.
11:26I listen to God and I let God, you know, you know, keep me on the right path because without
11:32him, I wouldn't be here.
11:32When, um, it comes to you selecting roles, you said you pray over the roles and then
11:38if it doesn't feel good in your spirit, you turn it down.
11:41Um, have you ever, I mean, you've, you said you've turned down roles before.
11:45Um, have you prayed over it and had to think about it two or three times and then you was
11:48like, okay, maybe I should do this because it's the opportunity is so big.
11:52I don't want to pass it.
11:52Have you ever done that?
11:53Mm-hmm.
11:54I can't say that I have.
11:55I know I definitely have prayed over roles before and when I would be like, I'm not sure
11:59if there's something and I'll definitely ask God for the confirmation, but I'm not sure
12:03if I actually was like, I don't think I want to do this.
12:05I can't say because I can't do it.
12:07Okay.
12:07I can't remember.
12:08All right.
12:08Last thing and I'm gonna let you get up out of here.
12:10Um, what is next for you?
12:13Um, as far as either Rich Flex or as far as new movies, new, whatever you got going on,
12:19let people know what they can be on the lookout for from Talia Brianna.
12:22Um, just more Rich Flex, more Rich Flex, more Talia Brianna on 2V.
12:28I want to definitely be mainstream.
12:30So hopefully eventually I'll be on Netflix and Amazon Prime and stuff.
12:34Um, as far as Rich Flex, same movies, TV shows, sketch comedy, YouTube series,
12:41all types of stuff.
12:41Nice.
12:42We're working behind the scenes.
12:43Definitely see all that coming from you.
12:44A tour.
12:45Yeah.
12:45Shawty, where you be, my?
12:47Yeah, that's coming soon.
12:48All right.
12:49Actually, I do got one more question.
12:51Okay.
12:53The doing movies on Tubi, um, people get labeled when they do Tubi movies.
12:58They get labeled Tubi actors.
12:59I've asked a few Tubi actors about being labeled that.
13:03Does that bother you at all?
13:04It doesn't bother me, but I'm not a Tubi actor.
13:08I am an actress that's on Tubi.
13:10There you go.
13:11But it doesn't bother me when they be like, oh, that's a Tubi actor.
13:13Because it's just like, they all,
13:15it actually feels good to know that Detroit is taking over Tubi right now.
13:19So if I look at it that way, I'm just like, oh,
13:21they just think it's another person from Detroit.
13:23I don't take it personal because some people don't know what they're saying.
13:26But other people that's intentionally trying to say it to attack somebody,
13:29then, you know, it's like, uh, you, whatever.
13:32You watched the movie anyway, so thank you.
13:34Right, right.
13:34You know what I'm saying?
13:35So whatever.
13:36But if your intentions behind it is not trying to, like,
13:39poke or tear somebody down, like, I'm not going to take it personal.
13:42I appreciate the support either way.
13:44Taliyah, thank you for coming in.
13:46You're welcome back anytime you want to.
13:48Um, shout out your Instagram for people so they can follow you.
13:51Rich Flex.
13:51Do all that for me real quick.
13:53Yes.
13:54Okay, you guys can follow me at Taliyah Brianna,
13:56T-A-L-I-A-B-R-E-A-N-N-A, or TheRealRichFlex.
14:02Taliyah Brianna, thank you.
14:03It's 105 Winner Bounce.
14:04Peace.
