00:00Country music is steeped in history, right?
00:03Or I guess you could say history is steeped in country music.
00:06I mean, it goes both ways.
00:07And there's now a new docuseries that is made by country musicians about country musicians.
00:15But a very specific group of them.
00:17It's called They Called Us Outlaws.
00:20And it'll premiere on South by Southwest in Austin, Texas on March 15th.
00:25And it looks amazing.
00:27It'll be a 10-part series produced by country legends Jesse Coulter and Ray Benson.
00:33Along with Jack Ingram and Willie Nelson's biographer Joe Nick Potoski.
00:38Very cool.
00:39Yeah.
00:40Here's what Chris Christofferson has to say.
00:42I don't think that would have been the brand name that we would have chosen to be outlaws.
00:48I think that we went our own way and spoke our own words because we believed them.
00:54And believed that that's what we were set down here on the planet to do.
00:59So the docuseries has interviews and performances with over 100 country personalities.
01:05Including Christofferson, Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Tyler Childers, the Flatlanders,
01:11Kicks Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, Parker McCollum, Ashley McBride, Turnpike Troubadours.
01:15Like, there's 100 of them.
01:16Wow.
01:17Right.
01:17It is so impressive.
01:20No word yet on the wide release, but it looks so good.
01:26I'm so excited for this.
01:27I love diving into the history.
01:29It helps us learn so much about how country music has evolved and where it is today and
01:34where it's going.
01:35And in the trailer, there's a clip of Miranda Lambert saying,
01:37every day I wake up and I say, how can I do better?
01:40How can I be better?
01:41And how can I make the people who came before me proud?
01:44And I thought, like, that is what country music embodies, right?
01:49Like, that's what these musicians are actually doing every day, especially somebody like Miranda,
01:53who takes it very seriously.
