00:25phil funny story back in i want to say 2015 2016 i kind of you know went out to hollywood

00:34you know i had some meetings and went around and you know did some networking and um i was pretty
00:42much told i was i didn't have to look i didn't i was too heavy just just everything that that

00:51that uh hollywood didn't want basically and uh lucky for me i was at a point in my life to
00:59where i was
01:00fully in love with acting and i was on stage at that point like there were no movies
01:06movies on my calendar at all so um i just just uh felt like i i would work and continue
01:15to work and
01:16continue to work and continue to work and as long as i'm working i'm good did that discourage you from
01:22no no i'm you know because you know if you open your eyes wide enough you realize hollywood is more
01:28of a uh system you know what i'm saying it's more of a um yeah they got their own little
01:36play that
01:36they run you know and a lot of black actors male actors that they use are european dudes yeah like
01:43they don't really use a lot of american black dudes and you know and you know it is what it
01:50is but
01:51i feel like this is a great space because it's love for my people like there's nothing better than
01:59your people taking care of you this i was supposed to be across the board we supposed to be
02:04taking care of each other just just so happened you know over these past years has been a booming uh
02:11industry in independent films and the you know the fans the watchers the followers whatever you want
02:18to call them they they've been holding us now and it's it's beautiful
