00:00Powerhouse directors J.J. Abrams and Matt Reeves are teaming up for a new Batman animated series.
00:05The pair of directors, along with DC Animated Universe veteran Bruce Timm,
00:08have received a straight-to-series order for Batman Caped Crusader from HBO Max and Cartoon
00:13Network, which is being billed as a reimagining of the Batman mythology. Abrams and Reeves said
00:18in a statement, we are beyond excited to be working together to bring this character back
00:21to tell engrossing new stories in Gotham City. The series will be thrilling, cinematic, and
00:26evocative of Batman's noir roots while diving deeper into the psychology of these iconic
00:30characters. We cannot wait to share this new world. Reeves' live-action film The Batman Starring Robert
00:35Pattinson hits theaters in 2022. For Abrams and Reeves, the animated project represents a reunion
00:48after they previously both worked on Felicity and Cloverfield. For Timm, it's a return to an
00:53animated world he helped establish with the acclaimed Batman the Animated Series in the 90s.
00:57HBO Max and Cartoon Network have also ordered a new Superman animated series as well, with Jack
01:02Quaid voicing Superman, aka Clark Kent. My Adventures with Superman is described as a kids and family
01:08animated series following 20-something versions of Superman, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen.
