The feature doc about the legendary hip-hop group will open exclusively in Imax theaters April 3, before heading to Apple's streaming platform.

00:10the Beastie Boys are headed to Apple. The documentary Beastie Boys Story from Spike
00:15Jones has been picked up by Apple TV+. The documentary about the legendary hip-hop group
00:19is directed by Jones and features Grammy Award-winning band members Mike Diamond,
00:23aka Mike D, and Adam Horowitz, aka Ad Rock, talking about their music career and 40 years
00:29friendship. A special cut of the feature documentary will open exclusively in select
00:34IMAX theaters for a limited run on April 3rd, before the film debuts globally on Apple TV+,
00:39on April 24th. Mike D and Ad Rock, along with the late MCA, formed the hip-hop group,
00:44and the surviving band members recall their musical collaboration in the feature documentary,
00:49after earlier pinning a memoir. Now, it's worth noting that Jones also directed the music video
00:53for the Beastie Boys' 1994 hit single, Sabotage.
00:59Jones said in a statement,
01:03I owe Beastie Boys a lot. One time they pulled me out of a burning ship,
01:06and another time they helped me cheat on my college exam to get into Florida State.
01:10So it was a real privilege to get to reunite with them and help them tell their story.
