00:03Ted!
00:04This episode of THR News is brought to you by Last Flight Home from MTV Documentary Films and Paramount Plus
00:11for your Academy Awards consideration for Best Documentary Feature.
00:15We're getting a first look at Season 3 of Ted Lasso.
00:18Apple TV Plus released a first image from the new season,
00:21which hints at still unresolved tensions between Ted, played by Jason Sudeikis,
00:26and Nate, played by Nick Muhammad, who left AFC Richmond at the end of Season 2
00:30and ended up at the Premier League team West Ham United.
00:33The streamer also announced a spring premiere for the upcoming season,
00:37but didn't, however, say whether Season 3 will be the show's last as it's been widely speculated.
00:42The show's creators, including star Jason Sudeikis, sold the series based on a character Sudeikis played
00:47in a series of NBC Sports promos with a pitch for a three-season arc.
00:52Co-creator Bill Lawrence spoke about the plan on The Hollywood Reporter's TV's Top 5 podcast
00:57after Season 2 ended in October of 2021, saying,
01:00this story is going to be over in Season 3, regardless, even if the show finds another story to tell and goes on.
01:06Co-creator Brendan Hunt, who plays Coach Beard on the series, echoed that idea in an interview with THR.
01:12We're writing an ending for this three-chunk portion that we've always seen, but it's not like Thanos is in it and half of us died.
01:18Most of us, anyway, will probably still be alive.
01:21So I don't think leaving an out is anything to worry about.
01:24It's just a matter of whether or not we pick this up in some other way and when.
01:27That being said, when the cast signed new deals with significant pay bumps ahead of production on Season 3,
01:32they included options for future seasons.
01:35The Warner Bros. TV-produced Ted Lasso is Apple TV Plus' most successful show to date.
