00:00What a fantastic experience. You know, I loved, I think The Sopranos was, is definitely one of
00:07the highlights of my career. Actor Robert Patrick says James Gandolfini did a classic
00:12Sopranos beatdown scene with his character Davy Scatino in one take while hungover. During the
00:17most recent episode of the popular Talking Sopranos podcast hosted by show alums Michael
00:21Imperioli and Steve Schirippa, Patrick discussed his character's three episodes starting with
00:25episode six of season two, The Happy Wanderer. The actor revealed he made it a point to get
00:30under Gandolfini's skin right away to ensure his character's beating would be intense. He shared
00:34an anecdote about his first day on set and how he pushed Gandolfini's buttons on purpose, which was
00:39advice from his acting coach. I said something to him like, hey, listen, you know, when we do the
00:45scene, when you come for the money, you better bring your f***ing A-game. And I looked at him,
00:50you know. He said this was Gandolfini's reaction. And he looked at me and he gave me a look and he
00:55went like, he had a cigarette and he went, well, I'll bring my f***ing A-game. Flick. And he walked
01:01off. The next time the actors saw each other was while shooting the scene where Tony Soprano comes
01:06to collect the $45,000 that degenerate gambler Davy borrowed and subsequently lost in the high
01:11stakes executive poker game. According to Patrick, Gandolfini said this to him. I'm hungover. Let's do
01:17this f***ing scene. And man, it was one take. He scared the living f*** at him. I mean, I was so
01:27intimidated. Patrick said it was a fantastic experience. For more on this story and the
