00:05Ernie Hudson is opening up about the psychological effect Ghostbusters had on him.

00:09In an interview with SiriusXM, Hudson explained that while he had so much love and appreciation

00:14for his fellow Ghostbusters cast and crew, the studio was a different story.

00:19They were all welcoming and inclusive.

00:21The studio wasn't, and the studio continued not to be.

00:24It made it very, very difficult because I was a part of, but then very selectively, I

00:31was sort of pushed aside.

00:33One of the ways in which Hudson points out that the studio lacked inclusivity was noting

00:37that he wasn't on the movie posters when they came out.

00:40I went to the 30th anniversary release of the movie, and all the posters are three guys.

00:45I'm so thankful for the fans because the fans have basically identified with Winston, you

00:51know, especially young, you know, I don't say minority kids, but a lot of kids.

00:56With current negotiations for a new Ghostbusters movie that's set to begin filming in March,

01:01Hudson says he's making sure he isn't seen as an add-on, saying,

01:05If I'm going to do it, it has to make sense.

01:07Hudson noted,

01:08When you start out in the business, I was always told it's almost impossible to succeed.

01:13But if you get in a major movie from a major studio, and it comes out and it opens number

01:17one, it will change your career.

01:19Well, Ghostbusters didn't do any of that for me.

01:22He adds that his role changed from when he originally got the script to when they began

01:26filming, saying his character was actually supposed to be introduced in the beginning

01:29of the film.

01:30It was very hard.

01:32Ghostbusters was really hard to make peace with.
