00:00How does it feel to be back here at this event, honoring women in entertainment?
00:03It feels great. I mean, I love the event. It's my favorite event of the year.
00:07And I love honoring women, and I love being with all the women who aren't being honored
00:11because they're just here because they've done such great work.
00:15Adele is receiving your Namesake Award this morning.
00:18Why is she the perfect person for this honor?
00:20Well, she's a giant talent, so let's start with that.
00:23But even more important than that, I think it's the way she's conducted her life.
00:27She gives back to so many causes, in particular the one that touched me is at-risk women and at-risk children.
00:34And she really cares, and you can see that.
00:37And when I was talking to her, she just exudes this positive energy that makes everybody feel comfortable and welcome.
00:43I think she's an incredible role model.
00:46It's been such a huge year for women in entertainment, from Barbie to Beyonce.
00:50What's your take on the way that women have just dominated the industry this year?
00:54I think it's great.
00:55And I think it's about time.
00:57I go back to when we made a movie called The First Wives Club, and I remember nobody thought it was going to do any business.
01:04And, of course, it was the number one movie and a giant hit.
01:07So I think the female audience has always been there, and it just took time for the people who make the decisions to recognize it.
01:14With the dual strikes, it has also been a hard year for Hollywood in general, though.
01:19What's one reason that you still love this industry and love Hollywood?
01:21I love film, and I love, and I say film, I mean movies, television.
01:27I love all forms, and I am probably the biggest consumer of content that you'll ever see.
01:32I love it.
01:33I mean fly.
01:33Where do you guys go?
01:34You
