Adele is set to receive the prestigious Sherry Lansing Leadership Award during The Hollywood Reporter's annual Women in Entertainment event. The yearly breakfast gala is attended by more than 750 industry leaders and VIPs and coincides with the release of The Hollywood Reporter's highly anticipated Women in Entertainment issue which highlights the Power 100, a list honoring the most powerful female executives and talent in entertainment.

00:25The event will take place on December 7th in Los Angeles.
00:28The Sherry Lansing Leadership Award recognizes trailblazers and philanthropists in entertainment and media
00:34and was established in honor of Sherry Lansing, the first woman to head a Hollywood studio as the former CEO of Paramount Pictures.
00:42Lansing herself spoke out about THR honoring Adele, noting
00:45Adele is a singular talent who has captivated the world with her incredible music.
00:49Beyond that, she paved the way for female artists to embrace their authentic selves and define their own voices and careers
00:55at a critical moment for women in music, empowering countless other female artists to do the same.
01:00Last year's Sherry Lansing Leadership Award was given to Charlize Theron.
01:04The gala will also be attended by approximately 35 high school juniors and seniors,
01:09currently participating in THR's Women in Entertainment Mentorship Program,
01:13which pairs the brightest young women from underserved high schools across Los Angeles
01:17with some of the most powerful female executives in film and TV.
