00:00My Sasquatch Preservation Society number one and number two because we love the
00:05Squatch. One of the most important things on a bus is a Sharpie because it means
00:08that you can put your name on something and you hope that it's protected.
00:41G'day, g'day. Come on in. Welcome to Polaris HQ, I guess. So we're out here on tour with
00:48Electric Cowboy for their Tanzined World Tour and so far the run has been bloody incredible.
00:55Yeah, shows have been insane. Having a good time. Hey, welcome. We're just here actually
01:00sitting down watching a bit of golf. We came in this morning and there was some F1 on so
01:04I'm sorry Jamie for turning that off. That's right. We've got it here so it's all good.
01:07Exactly. So there's always a second screen with F1 on. But no, we've had a bit of sports
01:11on for this tour. We've been watching a bit of ice hockey because Waldy loves it as well
01:15as who else is Ryan also? All the Americans. Basically all the Americans. So plenty of
01:21ice hockey been happening, a little bit of basketball, but we've also managed to spend
01:24a bit of time watching movies and we've watched The Mummy 1 and The Mummy Returns so far.
01:29So slow starts, but we're getting there and this TV has gotten a bit of use.
01:33This is the number one draw. That's the holy draw. This is the holy draw. This is the hydration
01:38station. Most other draws are just shoes. Only to be ended up like this half drunk around
01:44the whole bus, excuse my language. The rest is all just kind of, everyone's got some snacks
01:50here and here. So yeah, something we realised when we first got in. A couple of shoe drawers
01:54as well for the stinkies. Yeah, like we first got in and with 12 people were like, okay,
01:58it seems like storage is a little bit of a premium. So we, everyone basically just threw
02:02all of their stuff into every cupboard and so every cupboard is just like a menagerie of random
02:06groceries and I don't know, souvenirs and gifts and whatever. But mostly everything at feet level
02:12is for shoes or water. Yeah. Up here is my pantry. That's where we keep the carne. Really? It's also
02:23where I keep my canned pineapple and my cereal sideways because it can't stand upright. I don't
02:33really have snacks. I just, I buy stuff that lasts long and I put it in places I probably shouldn't.
02:43Where's your snack drawer, Rick? I don't have a snack drawer. I think I, I know I have some
02:47Clif mini bars somewhere. You always have a little stash somewhere. Yeah, there they are. See?
02:54And I've had one. So yeah, that goes to show what I've been snacking on. I've been snacking on
02:58catering every day. But yeah, there's quite a few snacks in here actually. I had something down there,
03:03but it's gone. I think this one is kind of like the, um, Waldy said that's supposed to be communal
03:09slash like Ryder, but that's also Dan's bag. And then Waldy also said he's got his stuff and
03:13there's Elmo's. It's just a mess, man. It's just a mess. Okay. So, well, of the Ryder,
03:20we, we get chips every day. We actually get some chockeys as well. So we've been slowly getting
03:24through the, um, the giant party size chockeys that we get. We got some of these, some, uh,
03:30Doritos chips. Yeah. Well, I was going to say we have like an overwhelming majority of original chips,
03:36but like not enough dips. So they just end up going in the cupboard and wallowing in there.
03:42It's definitely the chocolate that is most consumed on the Ryder so far,
03:45which is a bit of a sad thing. I mean, we do have some bananas and apples, but
03:48Seth just came through before and had to throw out a few black bananas.
03:51Wait, what's, what's missing that? There'd be like very few twigs or stickers.
03:56No, no. Look, it's everywhere. It's all the good shit.
04:01That is all the, well. So this is very, that's what's usually left, I find.
04:05Really? Yeah. And it's usually these guys are gone.
04:09I'll take one of those now. Yeah, same.
04:12That and, uh, you already saw it before and the water is, the water is incredibly important. So that
04:17gets, um, that gets brought up on the bus before anything else. Water is like number one. And
04:22then the rest is like, all right, we'll get to that. But with that water, the bus is not a,
04:26it's not a happy bus. So we've got a, uh, coffee kind of set up here. A few of the,
04:32a few of our crew
04:34like, uh, doing a big old French press with their, with their coffee. They're pretty serious about that.
04:38The rest of us kind of just go to whatever good cafes nearby and enjoy it there.
04:42Yeah. That's our morning ritual right now. We just go to a cafe where Ryan, the guy filling
04:47up the base at the moment, he just has like a crazy rig that he does. Yeah. Hooks up Waldy
04:52and
04:52whoever wants to drink that. Yeah. I think he's done Seth a few days. Yeah. Yeah.
04:56I usually go brave the elements and go find some coffee place. It's usually way too far away. And
05:01yeah, it's nothing on, no offense America, but nothing on Australian coffee.
05:06Yeah. We, uh, we, we don't realize how good we have it until we're overseas. Like, oh,
05:10shit. Yeah. I'm a, I'm a tea drinker, so I don't, I don't partake in the bean so to speak,
05:16but, um,
05:20no, um, I, uh, I've given up on American tea because I, I order breakfast tea and it tastes
05:25like flowers and I don't want it to taste like flowers. I want it to taste like bitter leaf,
05:30but, um, yeah. So we've got like, we've got a station to set up everything. I feel like I've seen
05:38people use this toaster like a dozen times. So like, really, it's just right now you're,
05:44you're witnessing the bus with three people in it. So times this by four. And then suddenly
05:48everyone's like this and they're going in the bathroom where it's like, whoa, watch out.
05:52Everything trying to get in the fridge and trying to get in and out of the bunk alley and that
05:57it's
05:57tight quarters. So it's like, you know, you, you, you make a coffee or make some toast when you can,
06:02not always. Yeah. Yeah. One of the most important things on a bus is a Sharpie because it means
06:07that you can put your name on something and you hope that it's protected, but you never know.
06:11Like right now I've got a few pineapple juices in the fridge. So let's see. Oh yeah, they are still
06:16there. Ready for me whenever I want. See pineapple juice for Rick. Respect the name. Well, the fridge is
06:24a bit bare at the moment. It's, um, we're kind of in between stuff. Like we have a bit of
06:28catering juice,
06:29which is always good. We have some random Coke zeros and hot sauce. I don't know whose that is,
06:34I guess. I really don't know whose that is. It's mostly just like catering leftovers and some like
06:40protein things like protein yogurts for some of the guys. Um, we've got some old salsa, got a few
06:48different salsas actually. We should probably clean that out, but no, there's nothing too fun. We're kind
06:53of like a bit of a dry spell at the moment. Cheese. Oh, there is the, um, there is the
07:02jelly to go
07:03with the peanut butter. Oh, so that is Matt long cars. Yes. Cause I've seen him make PB and J
07:08sandwiches
07:08like six times. Yeah. He uses like half a jar per thing. I've seen it. And then what's in the
07:16freezer?
07:16I think we have a whole lot of frozen meals in there. Yeah. I got a couple of frozen meals
07:20in there.
07:21Oh, not too many at the moment. It's pretty low. And then Dan got some, uh, some frollies.
07:27Don't have them back at home. They kind of look like a Calippo though. So that looks good.
07:32And then just across from the general living room, you have the bathroom. Come on in. I think the
07:38shower has been used twice so far. There's Dan's pants. That's usually where they live just across
07:43from his underpants. I don't know whose pants they are. I think they're both Dan's. That makes sense.
07:49I'm pretty sure they're both Dan's. Yeah. But yeah, there's actually a bit, a bit of storage
07:53in here and there's some space behind the, behind theirs and coming up here. So it's a pretty decent
07:58bathroom, obviously. It's quite, quite roomy and spacious once you get in. And, um, as per the
08:03rule in every like moving vehicle is you never put a solid in the toilet. And that goes for toilet
08:08paper that goes for, I don't know, just anything. Just Jamie, if it's
08:14What the fuck did I do? You know exactly. What did he do? I didn't do shit.
08:20Just trying to throw someone on the bus. I don't know what he's on about.
08:25So we'll head on through to bunk alley. Um, here you go. Welcome. This is, uh, our general sleeping
08:35quarters. I've, uh, chosen down here because I got a CPAP machine. So I kind of, unfortunately
08:41to everyone had to pick first to see where he's going to work best with the CPAP. So I've got
08:45that.
08:45Rick though. That in here, that lives in there and I've duct tapes all through up in. So I've got
08:51my mask up there when I go to bed so I can breathe and not snore in the middle of
08:57the night. It's not
08:58too exciting of a setup, but I followed suit with Rick. Uh, we're at a, uh, what was it? A
09:04dollar
09:04general store in middle of nowhere in Van Horn, Texas. And that, uh, which is what Rick has as well.
09:10It's a little, um, uh, is it like a little dish drying that kind of thing? Yeah. It's like a,
09:15like a dish caddy. Yeah. Like sink. So we've, I saw what Rick did and I'm like,
09:20yeah, I'm going to do the same thing. Just tape it up against the wall and tape up the edges
09:24to make sure stuff doesn't fall out. And other than that, that's pretty much my bunk. It's a little,
09:30little hat from Van Horn and, uh, my clothes are down the end. That's pretty much my bunk. It's not
09:37as
09:37exciting as the others. All right. So it's a bit of a mess at the moment, but it's functional and
09:41that's
09:41all I care about. I've got my hat. I've got my camera hanging up. Then this vent doesn't close.
09:48So I've just like half taped it. Just, you know, a bit of temperature control. Got my steam deck up
09:52here, which is just, you know, always ready for me. I've been playing Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005.
09:57So I've got the PC version of that and been ripping that. Seth's been playing it with me,
10:00which has been fun. I've got like a portable charger, some toothpicks for at night, my wallet,
10:06and of course some snacks. Um, my watch charges up there. I've got my light so I can kind of,
10:13you know, as I'm going to bed, put on the red light. So it's a bit more chill, but I
10:16also got
10:16a big light up here, which I don't use much. And then the classic thing when you want to watch
10:21a
10:21movie, but you don't want to hold your iPad. I've got the sandwich bag in the ceiling
10:26so that I can watch it right here. That's probably the highlight to be honest. All right,
10:32I'm about to take my touring powers to the year 3000. Welcome to my humble LeBeau temple.
10:39So humble. Whatever you want to call it. Rick's very jealous. So I don't know where to start,
10:43but I essentially have my phone, which has all my little widgets set up so I can, you know,
10:49check what's going on, what time it is at home, all that stuff. I have a TV, which is hung
10:55in by
10:55hooks so I can actually take it out. Innovation, you know what I'm saying?
11:02Yeah. Wall plug. This is probably the highlight. I'll try and get into this right now, but
11:08I've got it pretty worked out. Quick slip in. But yeah, Nintendo Switch. I've been playing 64 on it
11:17the entire time. So, because I'm an absolute geek. You can play Zelda too. Yes, Zelda. That's my
11:22whole arm and all that kind of stuff. But then get out of here. Oh my God. And as you
11:28can see,
11:29as a 33 year old, that is not good for your back. Down there, we have like a little shelf
11:36nook thing that a lot of us have. You do. But you're going to have to come through this way
11:41and I'm going to show you the pride and joy.
11:46So, when you live 30 weeks in a damn cylinder. 30 weeks? Jesus. A year. A year. A year. A
11:54year.
11:55You need to have a wardrobe. So, I have installed this on this little hook thing. See, all my clothes,
12:03it's for socks from Red Rocks. That's pretty cool. It's kind of fucked up at the moment.
12:07So, I need to do my washing. Yeah, it's really good for the door. Yes. Oh, actually, the door's good.
12:12You can probably see the traffic jam that happens when Jesse's trying to get dressed and people
12:16are trying to come in. Try to get my clothes and my underwear and then bam, bam, you know.
12:21Puts me back to sleep. Hello. And then a perfect transition to Daniel. Hello. Bye.
12:29Year 3000 to my touring pals. But that's it. That's my... Oh, sorry. I've got a little...
12:34Actually, I just use this hat. Are you guys getting the Jesse Penthouse bunk experience?
12:39The hat rack. As well. So, yeah. That's it. I'm done. This is what people do when they spend a
12:45lot
12:45of time in their bunks. This is the 33-year-old virgin. My bunk is for sleeping. It's a 32
12:50-year-old
12:50virgin showing his Nintendo to the world. Proudly. Just little things. Yes. All right. Hi, my name's Dan.
12:58I play drums in Polaris. I was late for today's bus tour. So, we're going to cut this video in
13:03and it's not
13:03going to look as professional as the other ones for various reasons. Partly because my bunk is
13:07much less interesting. But I'm going to show it to you anyway. I didn't get as far with the
13:11customizations as these guys. I got a little bit lazy. I'm pretty, like, minimalist on my approach
13:16to my bunk. I don't tend to spend a lot of time in my bunk unless I'm sleeping, really. I'm
13:21not really a,
13:21I'm not really a daytime bunk guy. But this is a welcome to my little, my little home in here.
13:27We got the, we got the bare essentials in here. My, the extent of my customizations is basically
13:32a little power strip running from here. Gaff tape to the wall and staying over here,
13:36which is honestly a huge upgrade for me because me and my long pointy elbows used to knock the power
13:41out of the wall all the time. So, this is keeping that a little bit more regular. We've got the,
13:45um,
13:46we've got the Apple Watch charger taped down over here to make a nice, um, very clean and professional
13:50charging station. Basically, all I need some earplugs, um, a little ducky that was gifted to me by a fan
13:57outside a venue. Um, and she signed it for me, which is very cute. Um, and I do have a
14:02window
14:03that is worth mentioning. Um, I don't open it very much until, um, until I need to. But right now,
14:08I've got a beautiful view of the Chicago streets. It does make it a little bit easier when you're
14:13trying to ruffle around for stuff in your bunk. Um, I've got my nighttime mouth guard retainer because
14:20I grind my teeth. Um, the other customization I have in here is a little hook that I stuck up
14:25here
14:25that Jesse gave me because he had a spare one. I've acquired quite a lot of hats on this tour.
14:30I came
14:30over here with one hat and then I ended up buying many more hats. I didn't think I even liked
14:34hats
14:34that much until this tour. Um, this is a cool one that my friend Zach gave me. Um, it's a
14:40nice little
14:40piece of Texas here. Um, we've also got the ones I'm really proud of over here. Don't mind that. Um,
14:49my Sasquatch Preservation Society, number one and number two, because we love the Squatch. Um,
14:56and this cool one that I picked up at a vintage store in Utah, which is super dope because it's
15:02like a 1996 Casper, the friendly ghost hat from Hollywood that I just thought was really dope.
15:09And probably we'll never see again. Um, aside from that, I've, yeah, I'm, like I said,
15:15I'm pretty, um, I didn't get too inventive. I tend to keep my spare clothes, um, in a variety of
15:21tote bags in the bags of, in the bottom of my, uh, bunk because I don't like going into the
15:26bay and
15:27getting my suitcase out all the time. So I just kind of rotate different clothes in and out of these
15:31various cloth bags and one for, one for gym clothes, one for show clothes, one for other clothes.
15:38We got the, uh, we got the Red Rocks hoodie in here. Lots of Red Rocks memorabilia because that
15:42place is the coolest place in the world. Um, a nice little Red Rocks throw pillow that I couldn't
15:48resist because I really wanted to have something for my studio couch at home. So a little thing to
15:53remember that show by, um, a nice pair of pit vipers that were also gifted to me by a generous
16:03fan in
16:05Vancouver. Um, and I wanted to trade him something back for them. So I gave him the
16:11like knockoff gas station pit vipers that I had bought a few days previously. So we exchanged
16:16sunglasses and that was really fun. Um, and
16:23more Red Rocks memorabilia, my, uh, my day bag. And that's, uh, yeah, that's about it. That's,
16:31that's how I've been living on this tour. Um, if you hear a jingling sound, that's because I have
16:35all these things hanging off my keys, which, um, it's good. It lets people know that I'm coming,
16:38so, you know, so I can't sneak up on anybody, which I'm obviously prone to do. Um, so yeah,
16:43we're, we're a full bus. All 12 bunks are taken. So as Rick was saying earlier on, it gets quite,
16:48uh, quite squishy, quite quick. Um, but yeah, so no junk bunk. Uh, everyone's got all their
16:55suitcases underneath and, um, up the back in the, uh, other living room area, which we'll get to in a
17:00moment. Um, it's kind of become just where everyone puts their backpacks. There's a couple of cupboards
17:04where we were originally chucking our bags, but now it's just ended up all over the seats. But,
17:08um, yeah, like, I guess you could say like, you know, uh, us, the band usually we'll pick
17:14where to go kind of first. Um, and then everyone else kind of goes from there. Um,
17:19but our sound guy who isn't on this run with us, he's back home, but Lance, he's a very tall,
17:24long boy. So other than us picking first, Lance usually goes around with a measuring tape
17:30on which bunk is going to be best for him, uh, that he can just about fit in,
17:34because most of the time he's not really able to fit. Um, but yeah, I guess that's, uh,
17:40the general gist of, um, how we kind of pick our bunks and, uh, choose who's sleeping where.
17:45I guess, yeah, other than seeing the party that's going on down here and that, we got
17:50the back lounge area, which like I said before is usually just, um, chockers with backpacks and that.
17:57Just a few of us store our bags. There's a cupboard here. There's another cupboard here,
18:00which I think has a whole bunch of the boss's laundry, like change of sheets and pillowcases
18:06and that. Um, but yeah, at the end of the night, this becomes quite chaotic. Everyone's got their
18:12bags in here and you know, some people chill in here. We've got another TV, but the main, uh, living
18:18space and hanging out space is the, the front lounge, um, where everyone chooses to kind of spend their
18:23time or up here. Cause I guess as well with this open, everyone's trying to sleep in the middle
18:27of the night. So, you know, down there's a bit, uh, easier to be a bit louder than up here.
18:32So
18:32not like we're a rowdy bunch or anything. That's not what I'm trying, not what I'm trying to say,
18:35but yeah, this usually ends up being a bit of a quiet zone or no one's really in here. So
18:39yeah.
18:40Yeah. This table kind of gets used mainly for, uh, Sean who's in, in their videographer content.
18:46Oh God. He's, uh, if he's not in the venue editing or whatever, he'll be set up here,
18:51uh, you know, editing away. Um, we have had Ryan as well, uh, in the early stages of this run.
18:57Um, with his Pelican, he's got, he's all set up, you know, cause he's learnt our set for this run
19:03over
19:04about 13 days. I think it was. So he's been pretty much sitting here grinding and out every single
19:10day that we've had off. He's sitting here getting the songs drilled into his head and everything.
19:15So we appreciate the hard work that you put in here. Right. Um, but yeah,
19:18that's kind of essentially what this space is used for other than a bit of a just storage,
19:25you know, it usually, you know, if, if there is a junk bunk, then you have, you know, some people
19:29put some backpacks or whatever in there, or we leave our bags in our, um, in our bunks. But if
19:33we've
19:33got the space like here, we try to have as much space in our bunks as possible because it's
19:37comfier that way. So yeah, I mean, that's, that's essentially it. I don't really hang in here too much.
19:43I don't really have much else to say other than it's another quiet space. I usually get dressed
19:47in here in the morning because it's quiet and I've got my bag in there and my deodorant's in there.
