00:43Fans want this kid to have more trips to the end zone, not more trips to the blue medical tent, which they've seen him do way too much since the preseason.
00:52And I'm not trying to take away the edge that this kid plays with. He played like this at Ole Miss.
00:59I know it's football and we're gladiators. This ain't the SEC. This is the NFL.
01:04And in that heat of the moment, when you want contact or you want that action, you got to be smart.
01:10Because in the grand scheme of things, you want this kid to miss zero time in the on-field portion of the off-season program and OTAs because he's having to recover or rehab from some injury he suffered in a meaningless game.
01:24There's a difference between staying in the pocket, taking that hit while you're throwing a dart to one of the wide receivers on, let's say, a third and 13.
01:33And there's a difference in trying to lower the shoulder on someone 15 yards down the field after running for the first down.
01:41Slide or get out of bounds. Mike Kafka, don't change anything up when it comes to the play calling for Jackson Dart.
01:48You still draw up the design QB run. It's what makes this kid dangerous.
01:52And you tell him, hey, if there's nothing there and the pocket collapses, take off.
01:57Just be smart about the finished part of the play. Play football. Don't be reckless out there.
