00:00I promise you guys, I, nor any Giants fan out there, would be mad at Joe Shane if he used an asset or two to trade for a playmaking wide receiver before the trade deadline.
00:10I'm saying, go all the way in on this Jackson Dart hype and get him a proven wide receiver to go along with the receiver by committee approach.
00:17Brian Dable was forced to go with after Malik Nabors went down for the season and Darius Slayton got banged up with the hamstring injury.
00:24So here's a couple of receivers that we think could make sense for Joe Shane to make a deal for.
00:31And that top choice, unfortunately, y'all, is the most costly receiver on this list, and that's Jalen Waddell.
00:36He's already put up three 1,000-yard seasons, and he's signed through 2028.
00:42He's a playmaker with yak ability, but here's the thing.
00:45With Tyreek Hill's injury possibly carrying over the next season, the Finns may want too much for Waddell.
00:51Number two, Chris Alave from the Saints, smooth routes, great hands.
00:56This is the kind of guy that's going to make any quarterback look good.
01:00And because of the Saints' current cap situation, he might be available for the right price.
01:05He's due $15.4 million in his fifth-year option in 2026.
01:09Number three, there's Jerry Judy from the Browns.
01:13Brian Dable already coached him in Alabama, so there's some familiarity there with the coaching and culture style.
01:19Over the years, he's grown into a big play receiver and shown speed and versatility to make an immediate impact.
01:27Plus, he's signed through 2027, so he's not just a rental.
01:31And another name to consider is Alec Pierce from the Colts.
01:34He led the league with 22.3 yards per catch last season.
01:38Big play all day.
01:40And plus, the Colts, well, they're in the middle of making a run to the playoffs on their own,
01:44but if they're looking to make a move on them, oh, yeah, Giants should be all over that.
01:49And my sleeper pick on this list, Rashid Shaheed from the Saints.
01:54He's a pending free agent, but his speed and his returnability could add an extra dimension to the Giants' offense.
02:01He put every ounce of that speed on tape on that 87-yard bomb he scored on the Giants before the half a couple of weeks ago.
02:10He's cheaper than a lot of guys mentioned on this list already, and he adds value in the return game.
02:16No disrespect to these guys, and I know the Giants' receivers believe that what they have in the room right now is the answer.
02:23But if I'm Joe Shane, and I think Jackson Dart has shown enough that he can lead this team to go on some sort of run,
02:30oh, without a doubt, I'm making a move before the trade deadline.
02:33I don't care if it's Waddle, Alave, Judy, Pierce, or Shaheed, adding a playmaker to the receiving core could be the spark that this offense needs.
02:44Remember, this is the NFL.
02:46It's not just about wins and losses sometimes.
02:49It's about making the right moves to set your team up for success.
