00:00All right, y'all, there's just way too much noise coming out of the Giants' Week 1 loss to the Commanders.
00:04So, we got to revisit some of those storylines.
00:08And, of course, we're going to look ahead another season with Ross Tucker of the Ross Tucker Podcast
00:12and co-founder of Future Fans Football.
00:15Ross T, man, what's going on, bro? Glad we got to connect.
00:19Yeah, Brandon, I'm glad we're getting to connect as well.
00:22So proud of you, man. You look awesome. You're doing awesome.
00:24Thank you so much for having me on the show.
00:26All right, appreciate it.
00:27All right, let's revisit some of this Giants stuff because my mind, I'm on 24 hours.
00:31I flush it, and I'm ready to go on and talk about the Cowboys.
00:34But let's revisit how the Giants' offense came out flat,
00:38and they were held out of the end zone for a third straight season opener.
00:42The expectations were high, 100-plus points in this year's preseason.
00:46So, what's your first impression of the 2025 New York Giants?
00:51I guess, unfortunately, more of the same, Brandon.
00:55You know, I see all the optimism coming out of the preseason.
00:59And like a lot of people, I was highly encouraged by what I saw from Jackson Dart.
01:04And I do think the defensive line is going to be ferocious.
01:08And they did some good things, certainly, in that game against the Commanders.
01:12But offensively, seemed like the same type of team, right?
01:17I mean, offensive line left a lot to be desired, you know, couldn't really run it very effectively.
01:24Passing game was disappointing.
01:27You know, if you're already to the point where people are asking Dayball whether or not Russell Wilson is going to start week two,
01:35he doesn't really answer it.
01:36Then he says he intends to, all that stuff.
01:39Probably not a great sign.
01:41It does seem like, you know, he should give it a few weeks at least.
01:45But probably going to be Jackson Dart's team sooner rather than later.
01:49Which then makes it even more interesting that they signed Wilson, gave him the money that they did,
01:55and went about the process the way they did.
01:57So, because when I went back and watched the tape, and when I watched that game, like, it was hard for me.
02:03It's hard for me to be like, okay, Jackson Dart could have done better than Russell Wilson with the lack of protection that Russ had.
02:10So, when Brian Dable came out Monday and said that Russell Wilson is going to be QB1,
02:17do you feel like people are kind of overreacting calling for Jackson Dart to be the starter this fast?
02:24Well, so, I don't think they're overreacting.
02:27In the sense that, let's pretend like I'm a Giants fan, right?
02:31And I want to have hope.
02:35And I want to turn the page.
02:38And I probably don't think the team has a great chance to make the playoffs or actually be a contender.
02:44If the argument is, I want to see Jackson Dart play and go through growing pains and learn and improve as much as he can,
02:54I totally get that.
02:56And I really don't blame people that would feel that way, right?
03:00You know, I think some people think it's inevitable.
03:03So, what's the old expression?
03:05That which must be done eventually must be done now.
03:11And so, I understand that thought process.
03:13The flip side is, if I'm a Giants fan, I don't know that I want to put Jackson Dart out there without Andrew Thomas at left tackle.
03:20I might want to wait a little bit and let Russell Wilson or Jameis or somebody else play.
03:28And I know, by the way, that when they signed Russell Wilson, that they didn't know that they would definitely be able to get a guy like Jackson Dart in the draft.
03:43But I think they probably knew they were going to try to draft somebody.
03:47So, that's a lot of money, man.
03:49I mean, that's over 10 million bucks would be a lot for one game, right?
03:53So, I think that they'll probably give him a couple more unless it's just that bad.
03:58But I think Dable wants to take as many bites at the apple as he can.
04:03Quite frankly, I think that's one of the reasons why Jameis is still there.
04:07And by that, I mean, trying to save his job.
04:11Understandable.
04:12He wants to give Russell every chance possible to help his team be a competitive, legit contender, playoff contender.
04:19If that doesn't happen, then he'll turn to Jackson Dart and hopefully, hope that Dart shows enough that the organization, the Mara family, won't want to move on from Dable because they'll think that there's something really positive going on with Jackson Dart.
04:33So, it doesn't make sense for him to more or less use that tool or go to that bullet in the gun just quite yet.
04:41Yeah, coming out of training camp, I was telling people, I was like, Brian Dable has the good problem of not having any quarterbacks to having too many quarterbacks.
04:50But then after coming out of week one, I'm like, nah, that's probably a problem nobody wants to have to deal with because he is going to constantly have to answer that question of when's Jackson Dart going to be there?
05:02When's Jackson Dart going to be there?
05:04Unless Russ is protected and he can cook.
05:06So, I know this is only week one and like you said, more of the same when it comes to this football team.
05:12But where do you think the floor is and the ceiling is for the Giants, especially with the schedule that they have?
05:20Ooh, the floor is low, bro.
05:23The floor is low.
05:27Three wins?
05:29Three or four wins?
05:32Probably the floor.
05:33Four, ceiling feels like more like seven, maybe eight.
05:38You know, I think if everything goes well, like the rest of the year, maybe they can win seven or eight games.
05:44If things go poorly, it's probably more like three or four.
05:47Which, by the way, is all the more reason for Giants fans to be calling for Jackson Dart, right?
05:52If the range is three to eight, why are we wasting any time with Russell Wilson?
05:59Let's let Dart get as much experience as possible.
06:01And if we lose while he's going through growing pains, well, then we just get a better draft choice anyway.
06:08All right.
06:09Well, I can't go through another three-win season, Russ.
06:12I'm telling you, you see these gray hairs?
06:15It's not from being 40.
06:16It's from three-win seasons.
06:19We talked about Jackson Dart being the future.
06:21Talk to us about future fans football.
06:25Like, you're the co-founder.
06:26What exactly is it, and how is it going to continue to grow the game of football to today's youth?
06:32Well, it's funny because I met these guys.
06:34They're Bengals fans, and they cracked the code, man.
06:37I don't know, Brandon, if you have kids or whatever, but I've got a couple.
06:41It is so hard to get kids to actually sit down and watch the whole football game with you.
06:47I mean, it's not like it was, you know, with me and my dad back in the day watching the game every Sunday after church.
06:54They don't really want to watch the game.
06:56And I think these guys are Bengals fans, and they realized that a few years ago, when they couldn't get their kids to watch the Bengals as they were on that epic run to the Super Bowl,
07:05I think their kids said, oh, we'll watch next year.
07:07No, no, we're Bengals fans.
07:08Like, you've got to watch this year.
07:10We're going to the Super Bowl.
07:11So, these guys have cracked the code.
07:13They know what kids, you know, want, right?
07:16Kids like storybooks.
07:18They like activities.
07:19They've combined those to be able to have something that enables them to really understand football.
07:25And then once they understand it, they're way more likely to sit there.
07:30I think it's like 60 bucks, futurefans.com.
07:34You're giving the gift to your child, but to be honest with you, it's really a gift to yourself
07:38to try to enjoy that three-hour shared experience.
07:42Hey, whether it's a great win for the Giants or whether you're suffering together,
07:47the point is that you're supposed to do it together, futurefans.com.
07:51I love it, man.
07:52I got a two-year-old, and I'm tired of listening to Bluey or hearing Bluey in the background
