00:00One of the members of Three Canal, Wendell Mann-Warren, says he agrees with Prime Minister Kamala-Pasad-Besessa
00:05that there should be a balance between noise and sound.
00:09He was speaking on the TV6 Morning Edition.
00:13We have to learn to find the balance between our cultural expression and its impact on the community.
00:21We have to learn to manage.
00:24Now, managing is way harder than banning.
00:28I get that.
00:30But the point of the matter is, managing this space is not.
00:36And part of that is understanding the depths of the cultural nuances.
00:43And Carnival, for want, for metaverse, for metaverse, sorry,
00:48we have proclaimed to be at the heart of who we are.
00:52Mann-Warren says that despite Carnival's growth and prestige, the country still lacks a permanent space to properly host events.
01:04And also, in a land where we boast of Carnival as the greatest show on it, one would think that right now we would have purpose-built facilities
01:17so that we could do what we need to do on a consistent basis.
01:22As it is, every Carnival, we put up our stand, we look down our stand.
01:27And the people who actually make the Carnival, the people who are involved in the private enterprise of Carnival,
01:33they have found ways to use various facilities that exist to do what they have to do.
01:39He says that over the years, Carnival has also become a significant contributor in the business sector,
01:47as many people have invested heavily in turning cultural products into income.
01:52Over the years, Carnival has been encouraged to develop along the lines of the business enterprise.
02:02And there are many people who are, at great risk to themselves, have taken the initiative and invested heavily
02:10in creating all these new Carnival products and all these things.
02:15Anybody who knows me know that I take issue with them on a philosophical level.
02:18But in reality, this is plenty of people's business.
