00:00Trade Industry and Tourism Minister Kama Maharaj announced at today's post-Cabinet media briefing

00:05that budget promises have been kept.

00:08The Cabinet has approved the increase in the permissible age of importation of foreign-used

00:16right-hand drive, private cars, sports facilities, SUVs, sedans, and station wagons,

00:26powered by gasoline, dieseline, or compressed natural gas, CNG,

00:34from three years to under eight years and under from the date of manufacture.

00:43And there is a bonus for used car importers who have used up their quota for a specified period.

00:49The increase of 30% in the annual quota assigned to registered dealers of foreign-used cars

00:57who have been actively using their quota amounts over the last three years.

01:03Also announced the following.

01:05The increase in the permissible age of importation of light commercial vehicles,

01:11pickup and panel vans, inclusive of diesel engines from seven years and under

01:20to ten years and under from the date of manufacture.

01:24And Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Eli Zakur, also announced yet another budget promise

01:30which has seen Cabinet approval.

01:32The establishment of a regulatory framework for the registration of classic, antique, and vintage vehicles in TNT.

01:41Currently, there is no legal framework in Trinan-Tobago for the recognition, registration,

01:48and regulated use of classic, antique, and vintage vehicles.

01:52This absence has restricted the lawful use of such vehicles and limited economic potential.

01:59It will start with a formal classification and registry system

02:03to facilitate the safe and limited use of classic, antique, and vintage vehicles on the nation's roads.

02:10There will be three legal categories.

02:14Classic motor vehicles, which will be vehicles 25 years old from a date of original manufacture.

02:20Antique motor vehicles, at least 45 years old from a date of original manufacture.

02:26And vintage motor vehicles, at least 95 years old from a date of original manufacture.

02:31So the truth is that everybody can correct the lawful purpose.

02:33Encrypt the lawful use of the state.
