Businessman Fitzroy Jordan is tonight calling for monies which he claims is owed to him by the Progressive Democratic Patriots to be paid.
Mr. Jordan claims over seven hundred thousand dollars is owed to his advertising company contracted by the PDP, in lead up to the 2021 THA elections. Mr. Jordan spoke to TV6'S Elizabeth Williams.
00:00After I collected the $20,000 I called Mr. Farley immediately and I said Farley this is all the money that you all have to give me. He said how much money I get? I said $20,000. He said no no no you have to get more money than that. Okay he said I'm calling you back. He made his call. He made his call and after he called me back in half an hour, half an hour and sent me down to Trinidad to collect an additional $40,000.
00:25Mr. Jordan spoke to TV6 News outside the official residence of the Chief Secretary where he claims he visited on several occasions to collect monies owed after being contracted by the PDP for his advertising services via vehicles provided and radio advertisements.
00:42This is not fair. So he would tell me come. Okay the very first time I met with him he asked me to come here and I waited. I came here about 7 o'clock. It was only until about 10 o'clock in the night somebody came out and handed me an envelope and gave me $10,000.
00:57Mr. Jordan said he has since been evicted and has faced the sum of his equipment repossessed due to non-payment from Mr. Augustine who at the time communicated with him on behalf of the PDP.
01:09Oh God it's humiliating and I guess and I want the nation to know that this is not any political victimization. This is me just trying to get my money.
01:23He says all he wants is his money and claims a pre-action protocol letter sent to Chief Secretary Farley Augustine in March has not been responded to.
01:32A receipt of $20,000 in payment on November 3rd of 2021 was also shown to us.
01:39TV6 News questioned the Chief Secretary and TPP leader Farley Augustine on the matter.
01:45Mr. Augustine told the TV6 News he can only speak to the operations of the Tobago People's Party TPP.
01:52Fitzroy Jordan, he's claiming that over $700,000 is owed to him from advertising with respect to the PDP now TPP.
02:01No, no. There's no PDP now TPP. There is TPP and there is PDP. Any arrangements made with PDP and made through the political leader there, that's PDP's business. That has nothing to do with me.
02:17The moment PDP decided that I was no longer going to be a deputy political leader, it means that I had no responsibility for anything that the party is contractually obligated to.
02:33PDP leader Watson Duke, when asked to comment on the monies owed to Mr. Jordan by the PDP, confirmed he knows Mr. Jordan very well as he was contracted to provide services to the PDP.
02:45Whatever arrangements I made with Fitzroy Jordan, I paid him. He was paid his money with a witness. He came and collected his money.
02:55I only contract him for one thing, was to provide two to three music trucks. Everyone who worked for us was paid for their music vehicles at that time.
03:05Whatever monies was owed to him was paid to him. He sat there, he collected his money and signed for his money.
