Some workers at the Division of Infrastructure in Tobago under the Gru Gru Patch project,  protested outside the division calling for their outstanding overtime monies from 2022 and 2023 to be paid. Administrator of the division, Karl Murray told TV6 News the matter would be looked into. More in this Elizabeth Williams report.

00:10Workers protested outside the Division of Infrastructure at Shore Park.

00:15They told the TV6 News that they have put up with enough delays in the payment of monies owed to them.

00:22The issue is that a few weeks ago we did a process, a protest that was similar to this.

00:29Expecting that the relevant authorities would have come on our behalf and say about our overtime money.

00:37And to me like nothing has been done.

00:40And I mean come on, we are human beings and I'm going to say it again, we have family.

00:46And like the authorities, the relevant authorities seem to be taking us for granted.

00:53Workers are today calling on THA Chief Secretary Farley Agustin to intervene in the matter.

00:59So we are calling on the Chief Secretary, we have to go further to the highest level now.

01:06We have on Mr Farley Agustin to intervene in this matter because they don't care anything about us.

01:13We need our monies.

01:15Yes we need it.

01:17This is not a gift, this is money that men work for.

01:216th 2022 and we have to be fighting all the time for this money.

01:29Christmas coming.

01:31And with Christmas approaching, workers say all they are receiving are promises from the relevant authorities.

01:38At this moment of time it's not the PNM in charge, it's the TPP in charge.

01:42So it's you all we have to come to.

01:44And I'm going to say it again, it's not political.

01:47But this is the position we are in and you guys are in power.

01:50And we are saying all the fakes are in business here please.

01:53All the fakes are in business.

01:55We need our monies.

01:57TV6 News contacted Administrator of the Division of Infrastructure Kyle Murray.

02:02Mr Murray said efforts would be made to look into the matter to ensure overtime sheets were submitted for payments.
