Will Gabe Davis be an upgrade for the Bills?

00:00I'm going to give you one quick thought on the Bills and what they might do this week.

00:05Is Mecole Hardman going to dress to give them a speed element and maybe return kicks for them?

00:09I think that's very possible.

00:11But here's a thought on Gabe Davis, and you tell me if this is wrong.

00:15And I understand that we're making points about what they could do in the passing game.

00:19But if Gabe Davis is elevated to the 53 and plays, and Josh Palmer returns,

00:25and they have outside receivers of Palmer and Davis, I think that could work for them.

00:32And I think that could be an upgrade.

00:34And without even really saying anything about Coleman, who I do think is catching too much flack.

00:40But think about this with Gabe.

00:42We talked about Gabe for years, right?

00:46Some of his greatest moments.

00:48He's a productive receiver that is a home run of a draft pick in the fourth round.

00:52And he had a good story, and then he left because the Bills decide not to pay him.

00:56And that's totally fine.

00:58However, and this is a compliment to Gabe,

01:01the idea of putting him in for Keon Coleman gives me one thing, and that's this.

01:06As much as we talked about Gabe, we never said he was playing out of position.

01:11Never.

01:12Nobody ever said that I can remember.

01:15He really shouldn't be on the outside.

01:17He should be a big slot.

01:20Never heard that about Gabe once.

01:21It was, he doesn't really uncover against man, and doesn't run a full route.

01:27Okay, okay.

01:29But he wasn't out of his depth.

01:31Right.

01:31Out there.

01:32He was productive.

01:34So just if we're going on rolls, and a receiver goes in to a spot, he goes into a spot, he is,

01:42or at least during his career, he was modestly qualified for, where it looks like with Coleman,

01:48he's out of position.

01:49So, could that be an upgrade?

01:51I think it could.

01:53I would expect it to be.

01:56It's tough because we don't know how healthy Gabe is.

01:58Right.

01:58If you want to give it a couple of weeks, maybe you could get the upgrade.

02:01But right off the bat, you know, 10 snaps, 30 snaps.
