00:00We did have a roster move where Balin Spector is back, and I'm sure, you know, the reaction to Balin Spector back on the practice squad is exactly what you would expect.
00:08People saying like, oh, hello again, you're healthy, I guess, you know, so, but it underscores what's going on at linebacker, Matt Milano, and what they might have to be doing in that department.
00:18No doubt, and I get it, I totally get it. Like, Balin Spector has been unavailable. He hasn't been able to stay healthy.
00:22I mean, throughout the entire offseason, I said, I doubt Balin Spector makes the team because Joe Andreessen just proves to be healthier and more available.
00:30And then Spector actually was performing well during training camp, and then what happened? Had another soft tissue injury, right?
00:35So he winds up getting released, injury settlement, or injury designation, whatever it was at the time. Anyway, he's back now.
00:42So what happens here is you have one game, and then you have a bye week.
00:46You're missing Matt Milano almost definitely this week, I would say, at this point, because Sean McDermott called him week to week, but did not.
00:52It kind of sounded like he won't go on IR, which is encouraging. In the meantime, so what do you do?
00:57If you have one week to prepare, get ready, like, you need guys who have reps, and if you have to insert somebody later in the week, like, yes, I know.
01:06People don't want to hear this. I totally get it. I hate it. I know. Oh, my God, why do they sign a guy who knows the system?
01:11Just go get a better player. But you're probably talking about a one-week fix if you need somebody in a pinch, so that's why you sign a guy that might know the system.
01:18This isn't about long-term development for a player. The other thing is, a lot of times when you sign a guy to the practice squad, it's not just about, you know, and oftentimes it's not about the guy helping you.
01:29It's scout team, right? Like, you have a player here who you know, he knows how to come in here and run scout team for us.
01:35He knows what we expect from the scout team, right? That's also a part of this when that happens.
01:40I'm not sitting here defending it and telling you bail inspector is great. That's not what I'm doing, everybody.
01:44I try to explain, though, why they do things like this, which is you bring a player in who you know can come in on and in three days practice, help your team practice the way that the guy has always, you know, you're familiar with him.
01:56So that's why you do something like that. But you're right. Matt Milano most likely just, you know, out this week. We'll see where it goes from there.
02:03Jimmy Charlo on the 53 right now, mostly for special teams. They do have Joe Andreessen, Shaq Thompson, obviously.
02:09So hopefully this we don't know, though, what this means for Dorian Williams.
02:12That's the other piece of this, which if this could mean that Dorian Williams also is not available, guys.
