Is Cook Worth 15 Million?

Jeremy and Joe debate James Cook's contract situation and compare him to some other highly paid running backs in the league. They also question whether the Bills should extend him now, or wait until after next year.

00:36Because I know they signed him and then gave him big money.

00:39A couple guys that just go under that just signed.

00:43Like James Conner signed in-season this year, $9.5 million.

00:48Chuba Hubbard just signed in-season with the Panthers this year, $8.3 million.

00:54Before the year, I think, Ramondre Stevenson signed, he was $9 million.

00:57That was the class that you might have been thinking for Cook.

01:04So, alright James Cook, you want $15 million a year?

01:08But per year, that would make him the second highest paid running back in football.

01:18There's nothing wrong with him going out there and putting... it's a contract negotiation.

01:22First off, he's not even a free agent, it's an extension.

01:25So that's where he loses some leverage.

01:27He would have to go to the market next year, where you could hit everybody to try and maximize

01:35They're not giving him $15 million.

01:40I think that's more likely for right now.

01:46If you want to play out the season without an extension, and you want to, you know, you

01:54want to earn the $15 million, we're not even saying we wouldn't be the team to give it

01:58to you in a year, but then you've got to go through another year.
