An icy mix is in store for parts of New England this weekend, but overall, the weather is bouncing back from winterlike to fall-like.
Transcript
00:00We still have some snow falling in areas around the Adirondacks and up into the Green and White Mountains,
00:04even parts of the Berkshires, seeing a couple of flakes here and there.
00:07And a little bit of lingering cold air in the Pennsylvania wilds, the northern part of the area around the Allegheny Plateau,
00:14up into Cattaraugus and Allegheny Counties in New York, into parts of Cameron, Southern Tioga and Potter,
00:19and Eastern Elk Counties in Pennsylvania. A little bit of leftover flakes there.
00:23But the next system is going to scoot a little farther east and northeast,
00:26primarily a Canadian storm that just kind of clips areas east and north of Buffalo.
00:33As we take a look at the current temps, it's still chilly across the northeast.
00:36Some of us are down in the 30s and 20s, even into the highest elevations between some of those cities.
00:4133 up in Banger, Maine, but other areas to the south, much warmer, 57 in D.C.
00:47And we're going to be moving in the right direction here, but snow cover this morning.
00:50If you look closely, still a couple of pockets in the maroon there,
00:53into the area around the upper peninsula of Michigan, and also in northern Indiana.
00:59The lake effect snow bands there hammered those areas back on Monday, so over a foot of snow there this morning.
01:05And then up into the Green Mountains and also the northwestern part of Pennsylvania, pretty decent snow cover.
01:10But this next storm system scoots through tomorrow, kind of a lower impact event.
01:14In fact, we're going to stay dry down at Foxborough in the evening because of that downsloping wind.
01:19But that wind, 14-mile-per-hour west-northwest wind, is driving the AccuWeather real field temperature,
01:25among other weather factors, all the way down into the mid-20s by the end of the game.
01:28So bundle up, it's going to be a cold one there for that AFC East matchup.
01:32And we're dealing with some lingering rain showers with the help of Lake Ontario for Friday.
01:37These are going to be fizzling as they get closer to the coastal plain, but still pretty numerous.
01:41Kind of a rain-snow mix for some in the interior here and there.
01:44And then Saturday, rain rolls in to areas around Pittsburgh, impacting that Notre Dame-Pitt game.
01:49The final thing I just wanted to briefly mention was that icy mix farther northeast up into the high ground
01:54with some pre-existing cold air before a changeover to rain later into the weekend.
