Temperatures are warming up this week, but more snow is in the forecast for both midweek and the weekend.
Transcript
00:00Well, we're dealing with another round of winter weather advisories.
00:02Northern Michigan, two or three counties in northeast Wisconsin, upstate New York, northern Vermont, all of New Hampshire, and then southern Maine.
00:10Here we're getting ready for a new round of snow that will be coming in Tuesday into Wednesday.
00:13So this is part of the storyline that Adam has been discussing as well with the temperature slight rise and then another drop.
00:20And there is a warm front associated with this.
00:22This is lifting into the northeast here.
00:25And with that, widespread snow returns for some.
00:27There will be some rain showers in Pittsburgh.
00:29Could be a little bit of icy mischief tomorrow morning in Toledo and Detroit.
00:33Some freezing drizzle perhaps in a few of those areas.
00:36And then regular drizzle with temps above freezing in the afternoon into Cleveland.
00:39But the snow is going to be a little more widespread for northern New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, eastern Massachusetts.
00:44And this pivots through the area Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday night and into Wednesday into Maine.
00:49So a new layer of snow on top of that snowpack for these areas.
00:52And then some lake effect snow will follow as we get a new fresh injection of some cold air behind this.
00:58In the second shade of blue, we're looking at three to six inches of snow there into the Adirondacks, including at Saranac Lake, into Vermont, eastern New Hampshire, up into the White Mountains and parts of Maine as well.
01:08One to three inches of snow for the New York Thruway areas just north of Binghamton into Rome and Utica.
01:13You're looking at one to three inches up into North Adams and parts of Massachusetts and Boston.
01:18Boston, you're in line for a one to two inch snowfall forecast.
01:22Boston begins around 5 p.m. Tuesday, ending late at night by 3 a.m. Wednesday.
01:27And our probability here, you can check this product out on the AccuWeather app and AccuWeather.com.
01:32There's, again, just a reminder where you can find this.
01:35And it's a really good product.
01:37If you have snow in the forecast, check it out, even if it's just a small amount.
01:40Up into Portland, Maine.
01:41Updated look at wintercasts, three to six inches of snow.
01:44We're looking at about a 45% chance that we end up in that three to six inch range here and a 12% chance that we exceed half of a foot.
01:52So we have more snow coming.
01:53That's just for the Tuesday, Wednesday time frame.
01:56And then this weekend, another storm system will be coming down the pike here with, again, some snow and ice.
02:02But it won't be a widespread, big blockbuster I-95 storm as we saw a couple of weekends ago.
02:08There will be some rain and thunderstorms in the southern U.S. as well.
02:11So we're watching the system roll into the southwest here.
02:14And as it reaches California into midweek, we'll be dealing with a new injection of cold across the northeast.
02:20And fast forward to the weekend, here we are with the snow and ice mix in many areas in pink.
02:25And then for Philly south, it's mainly a rain event.
02:28And that'll be a big change from where we've been.
