00:00Alright, hi people, it's Jaycee here and I'm here to do what I'm watching for you guys today of Dragon Ball Super Broly Steelbook, the Blu-ray Steelbook.
00:10This is basically just a re-release of this movie under the Crunchyroll banner in a Steelbook, and I think that's actually kind of nice.
00:19I got the Steelbook for Super Hero. I got the Steelbook set for Super. I got the Steelbook set for Z.
00:29I got all the Steelbooks for the Z movies and everything, although those were only DVD.
00:34I also do have the Blu-rays for all those movies and the two specials, so yeah.
00:42And I would not be surprised if they did re-release the original Dragon Ball movies on Blu-ray, the Dragon Ball Z movies on Blu-ray,
00:51and Battle of Gods and Resurrection F. I would not be surprised if they re-released those on Blu-ray in Steelbooks as well.
00:59And they used the Japanese masters for those movies. I would not be surprised if Crunchyroll opts to do that.
01:09So yeah, because like, the Z movies were released on Blu-ray over here, remastered from the second or third generation film stock that Funimation had at the time.
01:17And then, uh, that was way before Toei did their remasters, and then the original Dragon Ball movies, only on DVD over here for some reason.
01:28And then the second Dragon Ball movie, for some reason, has a frame rate issue where the frame rate was cut in half for no reason.
01:33So, they really could at this point re-release those movies with the dubs synced to, um, the Japanese masters and be, uh, that would be good.
01:46So yeah, but, uh, but yeah.
01:49So, yeah, so it has one of these things.
01:53On the front, you have, uh, Gojita right here.
01:57I thought that was a mistake. Nope.
01:59It just has, he has his blue hair, and I don't know if it's showing up on camera, but it's like this, like, green aura sort of around it.
02:07And everything.
02:08So, yeah.
02:11Um, but it's Gojita and Super Saiyan Blue.
02:13You have the movie logo.
02:16The spine right here.
02:18And then on the back, you have, what was for the, uh, I think the original Blu-ray release, which is Goku and Vegeta powering up in Super Saiyan Blue with Broly in the background.
02:30Saiyan Pod, and then Broly powered up right there.
02:34So, yeah.
02:35Um, so, and this thing, back, Fates Collide and the Destructive Showdown, the description of the movie, you have Broly right there.
02:47Screenshots, 45 minutes of extras, which were produced when Funimation was still a thing.
02:52Um, interview with the cast, drawing while Super and the Legacy, are you smarter than a voice actor, and voice actors answer your questions.
02:59The only things that are not on this, since this is just a repackaging of the original disc with Crunchyroll's logo instead of Funimation's, um, from 2019, is, uh, you don't get any of the Vic Mignogna stuff.
03:11I, it's kind of surprising that they, like, there was, there was, like, no advertising for this release, and, um, they're just using the dub as is from 2018.
03:22Um, and, yeah, the movie did release in January 2019 over here, but the dub was recorded in 2018, so, yeah.
03:30Um, and I'm not surprised that the movie didn't have Johnny Young Bosch re-record Vic Mignogna's The Lines.
03:37But, yeah, but, um, I remember the, uh, Amazon release, or the original Amazon listing for the original release of this movie over here did have the, um, a list, or in the description of it for, um, a Vic Mignogna thing for voice actors answer your questions, I believe.
03:59And I believe he was also, he would have been part of some of the, um, bonus features that were in this, so, or that are still on this, but I think they just cut around him because of the stuff that came to light in 2019.
04:14And don't say anything in the comments about Vic being innocent.
04:17He's not innocent.
04:18Go check out Mars Girl's video on it.
04:20But, but also do your, your own research on the, on this, like, there's a reason why they got rid of him, and there's a reason why they did the internal investigation and fired him.
04:30So, just saying.
04:32Um, but, yeah, uh, but, yeah, uh, and people are probably gonna say, why are you bringing this up?
04:40Because, uh, it's a thing with this movie.
04:43It was a whole thing for a while.
04:45So, yeah, um, we have the Blu-ray disc.
04:50Uh, movie runtime, 100 minutes, bonus features, 45 minutes.
04:53As a result of this being just a re-release of the original disc, I'm assuming that the Masters are the same as well, where it's the green-tinted version instead of the color-corrected version that the UK got, and I think other places got as well.
05:06So, yeah, that would be a welcome change, I think, to this movie, is the master for the, um, movie that they used, which would be the color-corrected version, where the, where it was properly white-balanced.
05:16So, yeah, because for some reason, Telway, when they give their masters to the US for some of their movies, and even their own releases of their movies that they remaster, for some reason, I cannot fathom, they, uh, they don't properly white-balance their movies for home theaters, or for home, like, TV screens.
05:40It does not make any sense.
05:42But, yeah.
05:43So, feature, video 1080p HD 69 HD Native, Audio W2HD English 5.1, and Japanese 5.1, with subtitles in English.
05:51Bonus feature, 1080p HD 69 HD Native, Audio W2HD English 2.0, and subtitles in English.
05:59So, yeah, PG, region A, Crunchyroll, and all that.
06:07So, yeah.
06:10So, we have a stupid case, like I showed off.
06:14On the inside, you got a nice screenshot of the Arctic background, uh, for the main setting of this movie on Earth.
06:25And the disc kind of blends into it decently well.
06:30You have movie plus extras.
06:33So, yeah.
06:34So, like I said, it's just a re-release of the disc from Funimation.
06:38Uh, Crunchyroll's been doing that for the last few years.
06:40Uh, re-releasing Funimation's older releases of their more popular stuff with, um, or even the more recent stuff with their own logo and everything.
06:49So, yeah.
06:50So, as I just, as I said a bit ago, I would not be surprised if they re-release all of, uh, the Dragon Ball movies, the Dragon Ball Z movies, and everything.
06:59And even the two Dragon Ball Z specials in newer packaging with their own, uh, logo instead of Funimation's.
07:08And then, um, yeah, the only thing I would hope, though, is they would get the Toei Masters for those movies and specials.
07:18Because Toei did remaster all the movies and the two ZTV specials in 2018 to 2019.
07:24In the lead-up to Z's 30th anniversary, which would have been 2019.
07:31And also kind of the lead-up to this movie.
07:34But, yeah.
07:35Um, but, yeah.
07:37So, that would be nice if they would do that.
07:39I don't know if they're going to.
07:41But, yeah.
07:42And it's really weird that they didn't release the original Dragon Ball movies on Blu-ray.
07:45Yeah, they do have HD Masters for them.
07:47Because those are the Masters that they use for the, uh, digital releases of those movies.
07:52It's really weird.
07:52But, yeah.
07:54So, really not much else to say.
07:57Link to the description.
07:57All they would have to do is, like, properly white-balance the movies and hopefully get the, uh, the uncensored versions of the movies that were on Amazon Prime for a while.
08:04I don't know if they still are, but, uh, in Japan.
08:07Um, to make sure that they're not green-tinted and they don't have the censorship.
