00:00All right, hi people, it's Chase here. I'm here to do what I'm posting for you guys today. I have
00:04One Piece Film Red 4k Steelbook. I already know I have this movie, but I wanted to get the 4k
00:11version. I also wonder if this is the redone, the slightly redone version of the movie from
00:18the Japanese Blu-ray, because when Funimation originally released this several years ago,
00:24back before they got absorbed into Crunchyroll? Wait, actually no, that might have been after
00:28they were absorbed into Crunchyroll when I think about it. When this was originally released
00:35like a few years ago when it came out over here, the transfer on the disc was the original theatrical
00:43cut of the movie, which had different animation, I think in some cases unfinished animation,
00:50that they polished for the Japanese release of the movie. So yeah, I would love if that was the case,
00:57but I'm assuming it's probably not. It's probably just the version of the movie that they released
01:01a few years ago, just in 4k. So yeah, and I do have a disc rip of the Japanese cut of the movie
01:12with the English dubs synced to it, so I'm fine there. It's just, I would love to have it on a disc
01:18over here. So yeah, so there we go with the steelbook. Looks pretty cool. You got the film
01:27logo, you got this character right here. It's all in red, which makes sense. One Piece film red,
01:32you got Luffy's hat right there, teleanimation and Crunchyroll. The back, a Utah Live new Genesis
01:40and all that. Have not actually watched the movie, unfortunately. But yeah, so we got the
01:46back right here. It says 4k and Blu-ray. There you go, this character. Kick your experience into
01:52gear 5 with 4k. I basically waited to get this until a sale, and when I got it for Prime Day,
02:00it was 16 bucks. So I was like, yeah, why not? Her voice could change the world. Description of the
02:06bonus features all three episodes featuring Utah. So trailers, web preview. And I think I said this
02:14in the unboxing of the original Crunchyroll release of this movie, just the 4k and DVD version.
02:20Basically, they included the prequel episodes that tied into this movie that they released for the
02:27anime, which was good. Funimation just did not do that when they released
02:33Film Z, but also Strong World. There we go. Those two movies had tie-in mini arcs that aired in
02:46between canon arcs that adapted manga material that acted as prequels to their movies. And
02:54they licensed Heart of Gold as well as Film Gold, because Heart of Gold was a TV special,
03:00and it's a prequel to Film Gold and sets up that movie. So yeah, but they did not release that as
03:08a two-pack. And I think what would have been good is if they did dub and release the TV show episodes
03:14for, um, for, or that tied into those movies on the discs, because Strong World starts off mid,
03:22like, like, story, and does not really have any flashbacks at all. Um, it kind of explains
03:29what's going on through the dialogue, but it expects that you have seen those episodes beforehand,
03:34and we did not get those episodes dubbed and released on disc until several years later for
03:40no reason. So yeah, same with, uh, Film Z. So it's good that they have those here. So yeah.
03:46Um, so we have some screenshots from the movie. Uh, the 4K disc, uh, video, Dolby Vision HDR,
03:5569 HD native, obviously, um, 4K transfer of the movie. Audio, Dolby, True HD, English 5.1,
04:01Japanese, Dolby Atmos, subtitles in English, uh, feature runtime of 115 minutes. The regular
04:08Blu-ray disc, uh, same runtime for the movie, 74 minutes for the bonus features. Feature,
04:14video, 1080p HD, 69 HD native, Dolby True HD, English 5.1, and Japanese 5.1, subtitles in English.
04:21The bonus, same stuff, except the audio is in, uh, English 2.0, Japanese 2.0. So yeah,
04:29VG13, 4K, regions A and B, and all that. So yeah. So here we go with the case again. And inside,
04:39I'm assuming that the regular Blu-ray disc and the, um, or regular Blu-ray discs are probably
04:48reuses of the discs from the original release, whereas the 4K disc I think is new. I don't
04:53think they released this on 4K when they released it a few years ago, but I could be wrong. Uh, but
05:00yeah. So that was the 4K disc, which has, I guess, the main character of the movie right here. You have
05:06Shanks right on disc one, which is nice, and then Luffy on disc two. Uh, bonus features disc, which is
05:13pretty cool. And this, I'm assuming, is just a, um, screenshot from at one point in the movie. So yeah.
05:21Um, I, it is funny. They did re-release Film Gold, uh, Crunchyroll. I'm wondering if at some point
05:29they'll also, if they have not yet, I don't think that they have, re-release Film Z and, or Film Zed
05:35technically, because they keep the character's name as Zed in the English dub, just because I think that's
05:40just how they wanted to do it. And then Strong World. If they re-release those two movies, I wonder
05:45if they would, um, have a bonus disc included with the episodes for those movies. I think that that
05:52would be worth a re-release, because otherwise you need to buy the collection sets or the Voyage sets
05:59that have those episodes. Um, but yeah. And I think including episodes of the show that tie into the
06:07movies, um, it's just good to have a standalone product. But yeah. So yeah. It's not really
06:15much else to say. And I think one, also one of the main reasons that they, uh, did that is because
06:20they had dubbed the episodes by that point, or they were in the middle of dubbing them,
06:24or they dubbed them at the same point, at the same point that they dubbed the movie. So yeah,
06:29because they were fast tracking the dub, uh, after Sony folded Crunchyroll or Funimation into Crunchyroll.
06:36So yeah. There's also speculation that Toei also pumped some money into funding the dub so that they
06:43could do that. So yeah. Cause like, it was funny after Funimation got folded over into Crunchyroll,
06:48they started fast tracking the dub for One Piece so they could catch up to the, uh, the Japanese
06:53airings as close as possible. So yeah. But, uh, anyways, not much else to say. So links,
07:01subscription, subscribe for once, and I'll see you guys in the next one.
