00:00Sunderland head coach Regis Lebris has opened up on the tactics that he used in
00:05his side's 2-2 draw with Arsenal at the Stadium of Light on Saturday evening in
00:10the Premier League. He spoke about three different formations that were used to
00:14contain and attack against the Gunners and it worked with Sunderland earning a
00:20point against the Premier League leaders to maintain their lofty position in the
00:25league table. Yeah it's probably now in football in the modern football you don't
00:34have only one structure I think is it's very important to use a 5-4-1 in a deep
00:41block and today because Arsenal have so much quality that you have to sink a
00:48bit in the mid-block we tried sometimes to go in 4-4-2 and higher up the pitch we
00:54have the the willingness to to go man for man and try to to press high so three
01:01different structures and after that I think the opponent can dictate the
01:06structure you will use the more and it was probably the 5-4-1 was in the deep
01:11block was very important today. And Middlesbrough assistant manager Edie Vavish
01:15has thanked players and supporters for their efforts during the win over
01:19Birmingham City. It was a day that was always going to be quite difficult I thought
01:23the players handled the emotion of the day we just tried to tell them control the
01:27controllables I think they did that but that grit and spirit is not just about
01:32today it's what's got them to where they are after 15 games which is as you are in
01:38this stage of a championship season you're just trying to accumulate points and put
01:42yourself in a position where when it comes to the business end that you're there and
01:47they've shown over not just today but 15 games that they'll fight and they'll scrap and
01:51they'll work and they'll block put their head on the line put tackles in and they
01:56did that again and Birmingham came very strong in the second half their play got
02:00some really good attacking players are obviously in good form but it's it's a
02:04massive win for the football club but great credit and dedication to the players
02:09but the amazing amazing support here today was absolutely just sensational
