Transcript
00:00Despite the fact that these governments are leaning heavily to the arts and culture sector, despite the fact funding has been impressive, we know the sector is still under pressure and we know how important that is.
00:12We know that the Australian stories that are told by the arts and culture sector are being swarmed by content from overseas increasingly.
00:20And we know that rising production costs and the cost of living are impacting on the sector.
00:25That's something we've been working on together as ministers, but it's something the government alone can't solve.
00:32It's why we're looking here at some of the big leaders, including some of the tax leaders, to really support parts of culture, those important Australian voices.
00:41We're here, I'm here along with the Treasurer, to really welcome these colleagues here to New South Wales for this important discussion.
00:49I'm particularly pleased to be able to weld with Tony.
00:52I want to thank the Federal Government for being open-minded about this discussion.
00:57That's really important to be able to start these important discussions.
01:01It's been well received by the arts and culture sector, but it's been well received because they know too the pressures that they're under.
