11:02just to check where i was any money i had he wanted control of it it wasn't just the financial

11:10abuse you know being called thick you've put on weight you're stupid that that hurt more

11:18i was such a confident person that i don't think i ever recognized myself for a long long time

11:26sorry for me we don't have any relationship whatsoever there's still that that trauma of what

11:38happened in my life with him before yeah of course of course i've wasted so much of my life

11:46loving the wrong person that now if i can love the wrong one i can love the right one

11:52i'm ready to be with someone now yeah obviously there are always going to be that niggling in my

11:57back is this too good to be true yeah you know yeah but i always have this saying that

13:07so i got one brother and i grew up basically it's just me my mom and my brother it was hard with

13:15my mom like coming out she's quite cultural yeah i'm very religious at the time i didn't know anyone

13:23so i felt like i was going through an internal battle by myself like oh but is this right is

13:29this wrong i don't know what i want if i was to dress a bit more tomboyish then she'll be like

13:34oh you look like a boy blah blah blah it's those kind of things that was something i had to work

13:40through is it just that is it just your sexuality that becomes the barrier between yeah yeah yeah

13:46it was very difficult i did go through like really bad depression and you do feel quite lonely

13:55it's very easy to be like oh how could you think like that but it's just like no you need to actually

13:58think like yeah look at her background and she grew up in africa in uganda homosexuality is illegal

14:04which is why i don't want to be so judgmental of her at the moment we're just we're talking talking

14:11about it honestly helped a lot dealing with these emotions now i'm happy and proud how i am so yeah

14:18have you done a blind date before no i know right but you don't know who to expect coming today was a

14:24brave thing to do and i know that because i did it too so this is a gift and it includes special

18:44found something to say yeah it's just like um i never want to think about that again

18:51so you're are you competitive oh yeah do you play golf no you yeah yeah yeah so the problem is being

19:00being six four and left-handed you're lefty so you're artistic i make all my kids birthday cakes

19:07all right are you winding me up i don't know you're dead serious yeah you make a cake that's what

19:12i made do with them from scratch are you serious yeah that's actually really good what the hell made

19:20you just do that because it was my daughter's birthday the other day you're like a big softy

19:29one of my kids he used to not cry because he thought i didn't cry because he just thought his dad was this

19:36big tough guy and that's that's what he thought he needed to be and i noticed one day that he was

19:43holding it in so i think i might watch big hero six with him

19:48and uh and let him see my crap

19:58so why did you come on here because like you must you must have guys dropping in you

20:02i'm never going to walk up to a man who gives me the eye and and expect me to walk up to him

20:07i believe in chivalry actually you'll never open a door and you'd never walk roadside with me like

20:14that's little things that like that i just think are done i asked for a northerner did you

20:22so i want a northerner that lives in the south yeah but i didn't think i was thinking how's this

20:27gonna work wow taking the scenery yeah that's two nervous people 100 oh this is really cute this

20:56could work i hope they do have you done much blind dates dating anything like that um this is my

21:06first blind day yeah i've had one boyfriend i was with him about nine months and she didn't end good

21:13i just haven't found a good one what about you i've not really had the opportunity so much because

21:19i've had quite a few of my own health issues okay can i ask so diagnosed when i was about 11 with

21:27ibd um ulcerative colitis i got my large bowel was removed and i had a soma for a little bit

21:34and all this time my liver was also an issue um and they said oh you're going to be listed for

21:39transplant i was terminally ill without a liver transplant and now i've gone to having a normal

21:46healthy life and expected to live you know to a normal old old age ever since that day of the

21:54surgery um it's like a second birthday without it i wouldn't be here oh class having had a

22:01transplant more than from someone else i think it'd be not quite right if you don't kind of maximize

22:08your life i'm almost living two people now and it's making that family kind of proud as well

22:13it's been a long tough road but i think kind of everything's settled down now get out there and

22:21have some fun do everything you ever wanted to do yeah oh that's good i'm glad you're doing that

22:27i'm just saying up to 15 16 i was always in and out of hospital yeah there was one time i was in

22:33hospital about four and a half months because i had a really major operation on my spine i had the

22:38metal watson at the age of 14 you should be like going out and doing stuff and i'm just stuck in

22:44hospital people can only appreciate it if they've gone through something similar yeah um and you get

22:50a bit more kind of connection that way don't you yeah it makes you appreciate every day a little bit more

22:57yeah i mean i think doing this once you get going kind of eases everything doesn't yeah and it's like

23:04whatever you're bonding with like we've got good chat at the moment it looks it looks lovely

23:15yum do you like cooking do you like cooking oh cooking so i don't know why you said cricket

23:47i have my own pet business so i do animal care but my main role was a therapeutic foster carer

23:54and i've done that for like eight years me and my ex did it together it was a lot to like walk away

24:00from for me split up i think fostering children with complex needs did have it have a toll on our

24:08relationship you get attached to them oh yeah yeah never gets easier it is hard so it's quite a long

24:15relationship which started off how most do and we were actually engaged that's why i think it was

24:22hard for my family right at one point we had two girls and a boy i felt like like the dream that was

24:31it i felt like i was winning like i had someone that could potentially be my wife plus three children

24:36are you ready i think we are i love making a big dinner and saying dinner's ready and then we all

24:42sit at a table i love all that so for that to break down yet it's left a lot of cracks in my heart

24:48i'm just going to the toilet please let me show you the way thank you so it's it's very hard to

24:56imagine going that far again i'm a bit boundaried now and i'll be honest maybe a bit scared of of love

25:03date's going well right i think she is interesting just me yourself i am it's great vibes but i'm not

25:14sure she's my type in certain ways enjoy you're still going with that one yeah i'm gonna suck the ice

25:28do we need to get the last drop of alcohol there we go do it in layers

25:37yes what's your work and stuff i'm actually at uni at the moment so i am a makeup artist in

25:47prosthetics cool and then i work in retail so i work in fragrance oh it's kind of it's customer facing

25:54isn't it my job is fun like i meet loads of people i think the last two years i've just got this

26:02confidence yeah like if you met me three years ago i'll say shy back in like high school in college

26:10i got bullied a lot i used to go sit in the art block for lunch i used to avoid people i never went

26:16to parties never did stuff like a normal teenager would do like i didn't really have friends like

26:24i was very like alone in high school i was i've always been told you can't do this you can't do that

26:31i always used to believe it so i've always been knocked down about my confidence how have you

26:37been have you been all right recently yeah since my last operation i said to the doctors can i just

26:44have a life now i want to go out i want to make friends when i turned 18 my mum gave me 20 pounds

26:51and shoved me on the bus for the week and she's like right you don't do it now you're never going to

26:55do it and that's how i got my confidence i never try and use my disability if i can do it i'll

27:01do it all this freedom now i love it amazing i love my independence but sometimes i do like

27:09sit around and like think oh i wish i had someone i thought i'd cry right now sorry

27:17i think shows you've got a strong personality it would be so easy to say oh i can't do that

27:26because there's been times where i thought you can just sit there feel sorry for yourself and

27:31yeah it's not going to do any good is it i do everything by myself even get onto the kitchen

27:36side into a cupboard my housemates are walking i'm like you want to text us to come help you

27:41i'm like if i can do it i'll do it i'll just say if you hear a big fan come in

28:02has it always been like that always sometimes i can know people for years really and they don't

28:07pick it up and then all of a sudden yeah and then i make some and they can't keep you he is like

34:46it's a great experience obviously it's my first day i've had a wonderful time i didn't feel any

34:58through difficult times and i think we both can relate to that yeah

35:07it was a lovely day and dinner was lovely i didn't feel the romantic at the beginning i didn't but when

35:14i started getting to know you i could maybe see something but if you want to say friends that's fine

36:00went off to turkey and how long did you live in turkey for i got stuck there there's obviously a story

36:08in this there's always a story somewhere there's a story coming here so my partner of 14 years he

36:13said i think what we should do is retire from work and buy a boat and sell around the ag and the

36:19mediterranean and i'm like sounds perfect to me so that's what we did i went to turkey to start the

36:25ball rolling get residence permits and we sold our house wow you really went for it yeah yeah i finished

36:32work i sold my business and um money went in the bank and he said i'm not coming i've instructed the

36:40solicitor to give me all the money and i'm not coming i was like a curveball you could have knocked me

36:47down with the feather yeah after 14 years 14 years my world collapsed it did honestly my whole world

36:56collapsed there was nothing that made me think i don't want to be with this man and i thought that

37:02was the man i was going to be with how do you sorry sorry yeah my solicitor said to me it's in joint

37:17names the house what's the split and i said 50 50 so the house sold and the money was sorted and that was

37:24the end of that 14 years just down the drain you lose trust with people you just it's like do i

37:31want to go through this again do i want to go through what i thought was a good life again only to

37:38be you know knocked down because i stayed in turkey because i give everything up and i'm backwards and

37:44forwards between here and turkey because i rent a villa right there i was more concentrating on putting

37:50the pieces back together now i'm thinking hmm perhaps i ought to think about finding somebody

37:56that i'd like to spend some time with because i think i've got a lot to give i mean i'm getting

38:01older now and i was like oh this is only a number oh no it is you got much on your bucket list i've had

38:07some adventures in my time and i've seen some amazing places but now i was in vietnam i mean it was

38:13amazing they've got all these tunnels well they've got the same thing in capiadokia in turkey

38:17so i mean the tunnels are tiny i mean i couldn't even get down them oh no these were like you could

38:23build a room they were literally living down there you know yeah and they would just stay down there

38:28and they made it where they came out yeah amazing to see absolutely fantastic well i think we're both

40:04coming into charlie's life i mean he's 33 now so it'd be nice to have someone just makes it more
