01:15i think that's so cute so when our kids were little and i started making the candy canes for
01:21christmas i would let them come in to my kitchen and they'd all make their own candy cane you know
01:26it's just kind of a fun tradition we do on christmas eve so this year when logan reached
01:30out and asked for the recipe i thought it was really sweet tell me more about what's happening
01:35with the family like i feel like you've talked to janelle some but yeah janelle and i have
01:40talked a little bit here and there um mostly just about like the situation with the property
01:45you know because that's still not is it that good if cody would just communicate
01:53that's all i want is for him to communicate at this point uh
01:58coyote passes not changed nothing's different cody's name is still on all four of the pieces of
02:06property mine is still on one of the pieces of property that i co-own with cody and janelle
02:12there shouldn't be any reason why we're still not having this property divided into you know with
02:22all four of us as equal owners that could have happened a long time ago when cody and christine
02:28made that agreement that i guess she would get the house and she would sign like the proceeds of the
02:35house when she sold it and then she would sign the property to him just to him just to him and robin
02:42that's what happened she's off the property and now it's just him and robin so they have more
02:47when christine and cody i assume it was just the two of them i don't know made the agreement you know
02:53like she would get all the proceeds of her house and then she would turn over her portion of coyote
02:59pass like it just seems like it should have been a conversation and it was never even a conversation
03:05how much longer are we going to do this like for real how much longer until you just realize that
03:11he's an ass and you can't be nice i mean i realize that one number how much longer i'm thinking like
03:18six weeks i'm going to give it six weeks because if this thing is happening with this buyer this
03:23potential buyer if it's not in contract in six weeks then you stick your attorney on him

05:10something there's always something going on when everybody's together that's the tree that they
05:15got from the property yesterday they cut that from their property it's cool huh well is that a
05:19real cannonball yes that's a real cannonball no it's not yes it is well caleb had told me like
05:24oh my gosh several visits ago that they have a cannonball they have a cannonball from like
05:28the civil war it's super cool we're gonna ask them but they'll lie to me anyway five dollars five
05:32dollar bet you think so stop it i still don't know if i believe you it's a cannonball no it's
05:41from the civil war okay no i think i think they were feeding you full of it it's caleb he doesn't
05:46do that yes he does hello go ahead and ask ask caleb right now ask ask what you're gonna lie to me

06:26mine way up in the rockies so what they do is they put it into a crusher and they put these big
06:32balls and drop them in there and it just crushes it down as it goes through and it goes to another
06:37one that's a smaller one that crushes them down further you crushed my dreams i'm sorry that's a
06:42stupid story it's just something they use in a mine to do that's dumb i'm just gonna say it's cannonball
06:50for years and years and years our holidays it was my kids and janelle's kids
06:53everybody the whole big family and when i left we certainly missed that okay look at me cheese
07:00nice okay cheese traditions are important i think that's what helps you stay grounded and feel like
07:08life has some sort of cohesion like you're gonna always have your traditions no matter how much life
07:12changes
07:13janelle what you really need is to be on farmers only and find a guy
07:21you're not gonna talk about this this morning no he was talking about that we can find you a nice
07:26guy with a six-pack david just can't handle that i'm just not gonna go date because i'm like do you
07:33not no no no yeah i think maybe cody was a lot of work so i think a relationship must be really hard
07:39i know that's because the relationship where you were in was a lot more dramatic and hard and he
07:44he he can take care of himself completely yeah we were married to a guy that was a lot of work
07:50he just was you know he had a lot of things that he liked and a lot of specifics like certain dietary
07:54restrictions his like grooming and things like that it was just it was a lot there's guys that
07:59are super super simple like caleb is simple he's easy mitch is easy i mean there's some easy guys out
08:06there you know and easy going yeah oh let's not put the wrong thing out there shall we janelle's
08:14not interested in the easy guys though she likes easy going but not easy there's a big difference
08:19between that so don't lump us in with cody it's not a lot of work it's not a lot of work no it's
08:25like no no no no it's not farmers only we can get you no i'm not advertising nope not advertising
08:32janelle really likes um it's javier bardem she's also really into sam elliot his voice melts her
08:40like butter yep you don't want to talk about it no like i mean like i mean yeah i guess i mean like
08:45i've always thought they were handsome and i ended up with cody brown so you know i think it's just about
08:49who you who you click with david was on farmers only but i was not i never went on there
08:55so we've sold our house we've moved out we're in our new home we're trying to move in we've got
09:15we're just kind of in boxes everywhere around us where's your drums at in the garage
09:19the other garage we do have a lot of stuff cody had enough stuff in each house to live in that
09:27house right when he had his all of his wives as they left they gave him his stuff back so then all
09:33of a sudden he's got multiples of shoes too much clothes it's all you know gathered here in his
09:40garage so there was a while when cody would bring around like this duffel bag with all of his stuff in
09:44it finally he got the brilliant idea of instead of bringing stuff to each house and moving in and
09:48moving out every single time just have to look at stuff he would often run in and look for a
09:54particular pair of shoes or a particular shirt that he wanted to wear that day but that was i mean that
10:00was a long time ago i haven't i haven't had his stuff at at my house for many many many years and
10:07prior to me leaving he had kind of gradually been taking his stuff out of my house and you know over
10:14to robin's or wherever what aren't these in saw's room i don't know why i'm saving them grandkids or
10:21maybe i'm gonna put them with my grandkids stuff well let's do that have you got grandkids what's
10:26funny topics of conversation oh grandkids hey no pressure on you we have other children i know
10:33i know so what's up verora but speaking of no pressure or pressure what's going on what's
10:42happening um you know the guy that i've been dating for a while yeah brody who's been around a little
10:49bit yeah yeah um he asked me to be his girlfriend and i said yes
10:55it's basically the butt crack of dawn
11:06maybe there's single men that i might run into on the street miracles happen at christmas
11:16i'm the guy that's supposed to say have you got any sense because i know what can happen if it goes

11:23so i need to go to new york city um i've got some business i need to take care of there and i'm
11:35like jen you need to come with me it's basically the butt crack of dawn uh-huh and we're out of
11:42new york city oh my gosh we're going there's a lot of people maybe there's single men that i might
11:50run into on the street miracles happen at christmas it's gonna be fun it's gonna be a blast it's gonna
11:57be a party i think that there's parts of me that i'm discovering but maybe i didn't know that i was
12:05hiding about myself but i also think there's things that i'm i'm learning and discovering as
12:11new you know so i think definitely both are true there's parts of me that i have forgotten
12:16who i am and then there's parts of me that are like okay this is a fun new experience i like this
12:22let's do this too
12:22all right let go we're gonna decorate the tree we're decorating a christmas tree so the tree
12:35that they cut down we're gonna decorate it today but they're decorating outside rather than decorating
12:39it inside and why not actually get out of here we're gonna put you on wow yeah everything has so
12:45dramatically changed over the last couple of years like really dramatically i live in a completely
12:50different place christine is married again to another person
12:53that looks amazing even more recently i think probably just kind of try to observe as many
13:01traditions as possible to kind of feel like it's cohesive three mcgonthi come here two you're his
13:07sister we lived in flagstaff during covid janelle and i became friends like we were fine before that
13:16but we became friends and we realized we had something special that was more important than
13:22cody's rules caleb told me to hang up decorations blame caleb oh sure yes blame the guy that didn't
13:28knock it over don't touch it don't breathe on it don't look at it she's a lot of fun to be with and
13:33then we choose so i guess now too we've chosen to be friends and we've chosen to still be sister
13:38wives i mean when i told david our second date i was like i have a sister wife janelle's gonna be part
13:43of my life for the rest of my life and so she comes with me you know that was perfect everybody
13:48job well done yay merry christmas everyone
13:52um you know the guy that i've been dating for a while brody who's been around a little bit
14:06yeah yeah um he asked me to be his girlfriend and i said yes
14:11so he like asked you like it was like an official ask did he say do you want to go steady or do you
14:19want to be my girlfriend he said aurora will you be my girlfriend oh wow so aurora is 22 she
14:28has dated some in the past uh had a relationship a little bit of a relationship in high school
14:33but she's never really had like a super serious relationship is it stressing you out mom no yeah
14:41no what do you guys think what are you thinking well i met him a few times we didn't hang out much
14:47but talked a little bit seems really like a good guy does he treat you really really nicely he does
14:53does he give you that look that i never mind that's not a fair comparison
14:57no i want to know yeah does he look at you with adoration i think so does he look at you like
15:06you've seen me look at your mother he does one of our first dates we had like a moment and he was
15:13staring at me like that with that look so intently that i thought he was going to propose and i was
15:17like what is happening right now and he was just giving me that look of adoration so i was like
15:23holy crap this is fast and it was just i just want to make sure you take enough time to really
15:28truly get to know each other we've both been having conversations about like praying about it
15:33about like if this is what god wants for the both of us like the girlfriend boyfriend thing at this
15:37point right yes but then also long-term stuff too so you're saying he's on a candidates list
15:44so far it's like there's checkpoints i feel like and at this point looking forward he's met all these
15:50checkpoints and we're still figuring it out okay cool well that's exciting congratulations you got
15:58boyfriend well thank you give me a hug give me a boyfriend he didn't ask me first i'm just kidding
16:05it's a little different can i be your daughter's boyfriend i don't know if you have to ask that no i
16:11like in our church and in our culture it was like a guy would ask a dad if he could date his daughter
16:19and brody is absolutely not familiar with our culture so while that might be where we're coming
16:27from that's not something that they would be tracking aurora has told me that she's not interested
16:32in plural marriage and that's okay that's all right she's she's found her christian faith and she's very
16:37happy in it i'm excited for you congratulations aurora that's very fun aurora very specifically
16:46said hey you're my dad i want you to protect me in these dating situations i'm the guy that's supposed
16:52to look at him and say you know like my daughter's in love with you but have you got any sense robin's
16:59gone through a divorce and i've gone through three we're probably going to be pretty discriminating
17:03because i know what can happen if it goes wrong
17:08joe's just eating it so my kids are like aren't we going to be doing the candy canes like mary did
17:18and i'm like no or are we going to be doing the pajamas like mary did and i'm like no the bread
17:23that robin used to make i'm like uh no yeah brody's coming over here's the thing i think robin's more
17:29discriminating than i am so are you nervous well yeah when's it going to be here how's it going to
17:35go
17:45wow we have a snowman
17:51looks like there's an angel i always like the magic of decorating cookies i love it all
17:59those these must be maddie approved no artificial flavors no artificial dyes you guys get to do that
18:05like now that you live here you might become those people i mean when my kids got sick i'm just saying
18:10the cough syrup that i gave them might have been onions and honey i'm just saying hey listen we
18:15didn't have any insurance when you guys were little so we always did all the home remedies we could
18:20you know when we were raising the kids we act a didn't have a lot of money and b you know i had
18:26health insurance sometimes through my work and i can insure my kids and sometimes i didn't
18:30and cody could only insure mary and mary's child because that was who he was legally married to
18:36and the government in utah was very very harsh they had specific rules put in place that if you
18:46were a plural family applying it was almost impossible to get health insurance you know they
18:50had some sort of idea that somehow it was being abused or whatever but i didn't have health insurance
18:55for like two months or something and madison she had a ruptured appendix i must have paid payments on
19:01that for freaking forever oh my gosh that's amazing it looks delicious it's gonna be a mess it's gonna
19:10be chaos i'm just here for the fun joey's just eating it so frosting in the cookie here we have
19:18little tiny balls i love little balls i can tell just about it i actually think this is really fun
19:30like i always wanted this tradition but we never really did it and next year we'll have i feel like
19:34you guys did do it yeah probably said that like the saturday after um thanksgiving she started doing
19:40a cookie decorating that day yeah as we started to come all together as a family everybody brought
19:44their own traditions right so the day after thanksgiving saturday after thanksgiving robin
19:49would do cookies decorate cookies and we'd watch a movie and that would be kind of like kicking off
19:55the christmas season so i would always decorate for christmas on thanksgiving weekend the pajamas that
20:03was something mary was a big deal in mary's family and she kind of started she gave the kids all pajamas
20:07on christmas eve she for years sewed them all yes merry christmas i continue the tradition of giving
20:16the kids pajamas on christmas eve a lot of times in plural families the guys would visit from house to
20:21house to house on christmas day and we did decide we weren't interested in that that we all wanted to
20:26get together for christmas so i think our plural family and everybody getting together all together
20:31every single christmas every single thanksgiving we were just going to celebrate being a family that is
20:35very different from a lot of plural families that i've seen evie you set out carrots and cookies
20:40on christmas eve right why do you do that who's the cookies for who are the carrots for
20:46good job so funny after i left the first christmas that we had um my kids were like what aren't we
20:57gonna be doing the candy canes like mary did i'm like no why are we gonna be doing the pajamas like mary
21:03did and i'm like no the bread that robin used to make i'm like uh no but it's like i realized that
21:08traditions are important to my kids so they were like next year we need to do those traditions and
21:13it's important to everybody
21:14yeah brody's coming over man and it's kind of exciting robin here's the thing i think robin's
21:34more discriminating than i am i want to be buddies and that's how i'm going to get to know him and
21:39he's going to tell me stories and i'll figure out things that way she's going to just look at him
21:43tapping her foot so are you nervous well yeah but that's only because like butterflies aurora gets
21:50really excited anytime brody's going to be around anytime she's going to go out with him
21:54or anytime he's going around which is good you know that's a good sign
21:57she gets a little amped up for these kinds of experiences and so yeah she's she's like
22:12when's it going to be here how's it going to go
22:14are you nervous aurora
22:17well should i be why are you asking me that why are you asking me if i'm nervous leave me alone
22:25i get nervous when i come home from a trip
22:27oh just because it's been a while i guess you're funny every chance we talk about her
22:35romance with ours because i'm relating
22:39did i see a light i think i saw a light i think i saw headlight
22:44yeah this is pretty big because i've never had any of my kids like you know person that they're
22:50dating come over and hang out for like decorate the tree this is kind of a bigger deal

23:09anybody else can say anything they want and make up any story that they want
23:20but she was my only support system
23:23so you would be amiss if you didn't protect her from yourself right
23:29yeah yeah when you're just dating you're kissing another man's wife
23:34so we're in new york city we are exploring we are at a christmas market
23:50it is so much fun we're having a blast all the christmas stuff
23:55everything's decorated it's just it's beautiful
23:58it's very much like it gets you into the spirit for christmas
24:02it's really just unfortunate that there is so much rain and snow
24:11because i really really really wanted to go ice skating
24:14this is so cute
24:18we have stumbled across the cutest little best ever

25:03so when i first like met mary i didn't realize that she hadn't been like anywhere i was more well traveled than you at that point yeah that's true and at one point she was like
25:25dealing with a lot and i'm like you just need to get away you just need to go do something for you just for you just go do something and i'm like go to lake havasu
25:31havasu just go we were both living in las vegas at the time yeah and she was like i don't travel by myself i'm like i'm sorry you what yes you do yes go just go do it for you and she's like no it was the very first time that i had traveled anywhere by myself i never thought that was okay i don't know if it's if it's religious culture or family culture
26:01i couldn't do it like one night and then i just had to go home like it was very uncomfortable
26:05i don't remember the whole lake havasu trip but there was many trips or at least what i understood was many trips where she just disappeared and we didn't know where she was
26:15i mean of course cody didn't know about it because he wasn't around me to know what i was doing in my life
26:23that's just not what our relationship was at that time no i started vacationing with my kids
26:29separate without cody in flagstaff i was like we're just gonna do our own thing and i loved it
26:35cody doesn't want to ever travel anywhere like i'd get an rv and go and like he didn't ever want to do
26:41that like that was not his jam like he likes his creature comforts
26:44anybody else can say anything they want and make up any story that they want but she was
26:53my only support system you know it really seemed to me that jen was mary's only support system too
26:59starting in las vegas i mean i'd retreated from my relationship with mary a long time before that
27:04and i mean everyone needs support so i'm just really glad that she had jen has jen
27:09really pretty i wanted you to be empowered like you get to be you yeah and anyone who doesn't like
27:19it so whenever i travel i change the location on the dating app just to check out the guys that are
27:27in the city that i'm traveling to i totally expected new york to have a different vibe i just expect a
27:34little bit more up level than i see on the guys at the dating site in utah but that wasn't the case
27:40i hope that mary's dating i hope she's having a really good time i hope she is like having a blast
27:46she's running she's excited so we are going to decorate a tree upstairs we've already done our
28:05tree downstairs i want to decorate one for the upstairs game room and um brody's going to come
28:10over and decorate with us hi handsome hey brody how's it going hey good how are you doing good
28:17kids are excited to see you aurora's not though whoa what i said i was nervous i'm just messing
28:26i'm just totally messing brody's a cowboy like he's a legit cowboy he has a ranch he actually has
28:31a small ranch that he's building right now he wears cowboy boots he rides horses he listens to country
28:37western music he even plays a guitar the cowboy cliche is like the cliche of the drummer in a rock
28:45and roll band it's like can i trust my daughter with a cowboy well i think i can trust my daughter
28:50with this cowboy you got a cord there too oh that's it's teeny tiny mom oh i was thinking it was a
28:57different tree it's like this little four and a half five or whatever foot tree and i'm like oh oops
29:05wrong tree okay mom this is gonna work this is hilarious okay i thought this was a bigger tree
29:11well here's the thing i have a bigger tree where's the bigger tree
29:16it's in our moving somewhere yes well see i'm not a planner not a great planner but she planned this
29:25now she's having a pivot and doggone it we've got this great christmas spirit going on and now we
29:31don't have a great tree look there's mistletoe no i don't know i don't know if it's mistletoe
29:37if it's got berries it's mistletoe to me we need to take him out of these bags though hey

29:43robin is a little bit shy this is so cute now there's trees for aurora and roadie
29:49wait what about trees for you and me oh oh what about trees for me
29:54like i'm not shy at all because i'm not shy i can be embarrassing i think and i don't want to
30:04embarrass her i just like affection i don't care about pda i don't care if it's in public i don't
30:10care where it is i want to show the affection where's my pocket knife brody do you have a pocket
30:16i do i don't know me right now she has it yeah oh then we've been shown up i want to check that
30:23mess out oh yeah yeah that's he gave that to me yeah go to that oh yeah you're the man
30:27he gave it to me because i have parents who are very protective and loving and um they were
30:35vocalizing it and he was like well here here's a knife if you feel the need to use it on me please
30:40do but otherwise it's just for sure did she really say that yeah that's cute so brody that's
30:47an interesting concept i i like to say when my daughter's going out with you you know i'm not
30:52there to protect her and so it's your job to protect her right yep and you feel that way oh
30:57definitely so you would be a miss if you didn't protect her from yourself right definitely what do
31:05you think how do you interpret that what do you think about that my whole thing was you know
31:08she's got to have a way to protect herself and uh you know i do as well so i gave her one of my
31:12knives and i kept another but if you're protecting her from you what does that mean
31:17protecting her from me uh well you know obviously we're just getting to know each other and we'd
31:24been friends for just a little while and uh so i could tell she was just kind of oh you know
31:28nervous i'd say and uh you know there's some uncertainties there and yeah so i figured i'd just
31:34give her a knife and make her feel good yeah here then you can use this i was hoping she wouldn't
31:39have to use it i was like oh no please just i'm just constantly reminding aurora and brody to take
31:45care because i don't want my kids fooling around so it's impossible to be involved with each other in
31:52a nature that's romantic without the potential of hurt and that's when you get vulnerability
31:57is when you're willing to take that chance right yeah yeah
32:01i say to these young men almost always your job is to protect my daughter even from yourself
32:11when you're just dating you're kissing another man's wife until she's your wife and if she doesn't
32:20become your wife you're kissing another man's wife this is the reason that i believe in chastity
32:25it's like don't take something away from them that doesn't belong to you
32:28i wish that cody and his kids got along better i wish they were in each other's lives
32:39i think it's sad i think it's absolutely unfortunate when you're protecting a girl like
32:44i want to protect robin if you love my daughter then you'll love her as much as i loved her mother
32:50and i kept my hands off her and i kept my hands off of her until we were married
32:52when you're protecting a girl like i want to protect robin
33:04uh when i'm protecting her from myself i'm trying to protect her from being hurt by me
33:12fair definitely fair yes if you love my daughter then you'll love her as much as i loved her mother
33:20and i kept my hands off of her until we were married and we were older i had an outlet i'm still loving
33:26with my wives but we didn't have real physical connection until we were married
33:34i just think it's funny because after a while it's clear that my dad's talking about chastity
33:41kind of and i can tell that brody's very much thinking about tactics i know how to use knives
33:47i'm trained mixed martial arts she's good sir
33:50the best kind of relationship is one that you're so cool with each other yeah that if you don't keep
33:59dating you'd still be friends so the next guy if he's cool would say thanks for watching out for my
34:06girl that's a little weird though i think that's a little evolved it's way more evolved than i actually
34:13am so i'm more i feel like i'm more discriminating now than i was with tony than i was with mitch
34:21and then i was with kaleb i just was less discriminating now it's a totally different story i've gone
34:27through three divorces the problem was is in in the culture i came from if at 22 i'm going steady
34:35with somebody that's because we're going to get married i i just every experience that i had was
34:39like i knew within a few days maybe a few weeks of dating that it was good or not and then later on
34:47in my life 25 30 years later i was like oh that wasn't a good idea so are you would you feel
34:54comfortable coming and being a part of our christmas brody definitely yeah really if like
34:59it's a special day and i'd like to spend with my special girl oh hey mommy there he died i'm like
35:05hey you want to spend christmas with a special guy because i think you're a special girl so i am that
