12:26so short um i said right in the morning i'm going to take you up to wayne i'm not happy took him up on
12:32the tuesday morning and he died on the saturday
12:34so my life was just empty i can't really remember much about the first two years it was just all a
12:42dark blur really 25 years married oh yeah okay it's hard you know but you cut it out yeah
12:56so i cremated in my last silver wedding but i chose that date because i could remember it for the wedding
13:04not for the funeral so it's like a bittersweet date but i remember it for the good day
13:10i managed to sort of deal with the the loss of my husband and i've actually turned that page now so
13:16that chapter is done so i'm looking to try and start a new one really you never know there might be

22:18for me to come out to my parents yeah yeah yeah um but they were amazing totally fine yeah what about
22:24you were you a weirdo i probably was actually i was really shy as a child i think i went to boarding
22:31school did you yeah yeah what was that like i always thought if i had kids i wouldn't send them to
22:37boarding school it was a very traditional schooling system being gay was was not allowed effectively
22:46it was a boys school so there were always you know horror stories of bullying if people were
22:49seen to be even slightly effeminate some of my friends made fun of me effectively so you sort of
22:56boxed that up a bit i didn't really like sports but we had to play it but i remember once we were all
23:00standing on the rugby pitch like once again whenever the ball was like over there i'd make sure i was
23:05far over there yeah at school we were taught you go to school you go to university you get married
23:10you get a job you have kids and you carry on the cycle but that's not where it's all my life going
23:14and then yeah went to uni and came out of uni and it was all fine yeah amazing now i'm getting a bit older

34:35left the kids at my parents because we'd just been to watch a fireworks show and the the tension in
34:40the car was like you could cut it with a knife it was like just this odd ominous feeling i was like
34:45oh something's something's gonna be said here we came home and she sat me down and she said um chris i'm
34:53gay oh yeah i know wild the thought process in my head was what the hell but at the exact same time
35:07it was oh this makes sense it was like this deep fear that the relationship is is now gone but also
35:16a very light bulb moment and like everything just clicked into place has she ever explained it to you
35:22she always felt that way she said she had always been gay that's not like a can we work on it no
35:29that's it there and then it's done and that's your family separated yeah how did you feel it was a
35:36really hard time and i didn't process it for quite a while but i never take away from the fact that it
35:41was a courageous thing like that she did and i can't take that away from her do you know what i mean it
35:46must have been tough because it was tough for her as well and i totally appreciate that
35:52we just get on amicably it was difficult but yeah we had to had to work it out because for the
35:58sake of the kids i don't think i'm there yet i've almost found chris again and that's that's quite

37:31got worse and worse the man i'd married had been a hugely charismatic person and you see them just
37:39disappearing in front of your eyes what can we do just get with things i don't want to be on my own
37:48i don't want to put myself out too much and then get hurt i just want to have a bit of fun and why
37:56why not you're entitled to it are you a yorkshireman there were you born in your lived in sheffield

38:34so i would have been 19 when my wife was pregnant by the year 2000 because of really my sports my work
38:45probably my selfishness the relationship broke down and then um tried and then gave up so it's my own
38:54fault the good thing with social media is you can see your kids and you know where they are and what
38:59they're doing so i know they're both well and both successful so that's good you must miss them
39:08oh terribly but do they have children you don't know how long ago since you've seen them then
39:19four years okay what is going on here it's all my doing why is it you're doing this isn't the sort of
39:27things you should be telling a new day quite like a glass of wine actually

39:51you know um like space like i'm really interested in space like do you ever think about it

40:04miss having someone to offload to and like you know have that i really miss that yeah being able
40:08to watch the show and talk about like what you think is going to happen and a lot of it is just
40:13being in a relationship from so young you're used to being so dependent on someone like we were a two
40:18for like as i was growing up we were together from when i was 17 like a 10-year relationship so we
40:24yeah we were living together we broke up about two years ago and i really tried to fix things for
40:30such a long time i think it's really hard to let go especially when you've got children involved just
40:35i'm sure you can imagine going through a breakup i work full time had a little boy and i had to
40:42sell the house all by myself and buy a new one okay it was really like that's made you very strong
40:48i need to uh believe in myself a little bit more definitely believe in yourself and you're a
40:56beautiful person oh thank you i don't actually have a lot of confidence in myself you should
41:02it just needs a little bit more time i only moved into my new house in october so we're settling in
41:07how are you settling in i've been able to do a bit of diy well you're with the right guy because i'm
41:13very handy why are you so good to me this is actually insane it's so easy it's the easiest thing to do

41:35any political views because of the business i'm in what's your business i'm chairman of six companies
