00:00
what a season that you had this past year i mean unbelievable golf i looked at your
00:04
your stroke average was insane a 67 stroke average i mean come on dude like this was
00:09
some incredible golf i know the courses probably aren't not quite nearly as difficult as what you
00:13
see on the pj tour every week but 67 average over a course of a season is golfing your ball i mean
00:19
just talk about what from a golf standpoint what did you improve on yeah um yeah it was it was a
00:27
good year and it was definitely um kind of good that i think i ended on such a sour note in 24
00:33
because it um i was pissed and determined to get back at it in 25 um you know so i didn't get
00:40
through second stage and so after i did the first second stage at savannah i think it was like mid
00:44
november and i knew i was going to be back in the america's tour for the following year and the
00:49
season doesn't start until sometime in march so i had several months of just kind of doing nothing
00:55
and i was down in south florida practicing you know grinding mini tour events and stuff like that
01:01
um and yeah i was upset my coach and i we you know sat down had discussions like all right like
01:08
where can we get better and i'm gonna i use upgame um i think it's great it's a stat
01:15
app you know like it um um keeps track of my statistics and stuff and gives me some really cool
01:23
insight and stuff like that i i would um what type of like are you just plugging in you know
01:31
just your greens fairways are you plugging in where you're missing your greens or where you're
01:36
missing your fairways what exactly how high level is it i guess it's very it's pretty high level i
01:41
think um the stat entry on their like pro version is you get a a google earth picture of the whole you
01:49
know so you plug in the course and you get a google earth picture and then you can you drag so you you
01:54
set where the tee box is you set where the pin is on the green and then you drag a target line off the
01:59
tee um so you know where you're trying to hit it and then you put where your ball ended up and then
02:05
same thing into the green you drag a target line so say i was trying to put a ball 12 feet pin high
02:09
right you know i'd put a target there even though the pin is further left and then i put where my ball
02:14
actually ended up um i put in the shape of the hole dog leg left to right right to left the wind
02:21
direction um down the back down off the left down off the right into off the left like all of those
02:28
uh the shot shape um whether i'm trying to hit it caught cut draw low high um what club i'm hitting
02:36
how far i'm trying to hit it and then on the green i put in the distance of the putt how far
02:42
short or past the hole the putt ends up you know for speed the break of the putt whether i miss it
02:48
low or high um that's way more than i just expected i was thinking greens fairways you know just one of
02:54
those typical stat tracking apps dude that's insane so what have you learned from that is it have you
02:59
found that okay and left to right wins i typically miss it further the right or or putts that i'm i'm i'm
03:05
reading to go to left to right i'm missing those low more often like what what has been your trend that
03:11
you found in your game using this yeah i mean off the tee i play a little bit of a cut so for me like
03:17
dog leg right to left so with a left right wind that's that's kind of a hard hole um and my miss
03:23
is it's too far right um so that's something that i've learned yeah yeah that's um especially with
03:32
driver with three wood it's a little better and so that's kind of something i learned like if when i
03:36
have that situation i'm probably now trying to hit like a kind of a flighted draw three wood to hold
03:41
it up into the wind as opposed to letting it ride because if i let it ride and the face is open or i
03:47
hit it off the heel then you know it's just it's gone right and so like that's something i learned and
03:54
then even i had a meeting with one of the upgame staff people after the america season a couple weeks
04:00
ago and we were looking at my 45 yard dispersion off the tee driver three with three iron um so
04:07
like 22 and a half yards on either side of my center line and my my percentage with driver and
04:13
three wood were nearly identical um and so he's like when in doubt i said when in doubt hit driver
04:23
pretty much yes exactly he's like you drive it great you know your percentages with driver high
04:28
don't hit three wood unless there's a bunker that's you know at 300 that i have to stay short
04:35
of or something like that he's like just send driver um and so getting insights like that you
04:39
know learning where i'm good on the putts and where i'm bad on the putts is is is cool and around the
04:44
green um i can put in like whether it's an easy medium or hardship and then i know where my like
04:50
feet to the hole is after each like level of difficulty so i can i can help plan like whether
04:57
on a drivable par four if i want to hit driver and get super aggressive around the green i can see
05:02
like all right well i'm gonna have a hardship maybe 50 of the time and i'm gonna average a 12 footer
05:07
after a hardship i don't know if these are correct you know these are just kind of um averages i
05:13
actually think a hardship is closer to like 19 feet for me
