02 November - National Morning Forecast presented by Jonathan Vautrey
Transcript
00:00Hello there, hello there, good morning to you.
00:02It's another breezy day out there for most of us.
00:06It's a little wet in places as well, first thing, particularly across parts of east and
00:10south-eastern England.
00:11Some heavy pulses of rain clearing their way through, maybe a few rumbles of thunder.
00:15Some brighter skies emerging elsewhere, but we've also got frequent showers pushing into
00:19northwestern Scotland.
00:20These also could be heavy with thunder, maybe even a touch of hail.
00:24Some coastal gales around the outer Hebrides, the Highlands, and later towards the Northern
00:27Isles as well.
00:29But some sunshine will poke its way through for many other regions, and so that will
00:33make it feel a touch more pleasant when you are stepping outside here, but likely still
00:37to need some layers, because temperatures are only going to be around 10 to 13 degrees Celsius
00:42for most of us.
00:43The sunshine will also be disappearing across Northern Ireland later on this afternoon as
00:48we start to see cloud building here and outbreaks of rain spreading in for the evening.
00:53Those will continue to move eastwards across many areas of the UK overnight, turning quite
00:58dreary for many areas.
01:00That rain heavy across some hills, particularly the likes of Erri and the Pennines, seeing
01:04quite a lot of rainfall into the start of Monday morning.
01:06But with all of this cloud comes some noticeably milder air.
01:11And so, whilst this morning we're starting off in single figures, for most of us tomorrow
01:16morning, the thermometer will be reading in double digits instead.
01:19A very different feel to things.
01:23But there will be quite a lot of cloud on the scene as we head into the start of the
01:26new week.
01:27Those outbreaks of rain still continuing again heaviest out towards the west.
01:31If you are a little bit further east, there is the potential for some generally drier interludes,
01:36and perhaps a touch of brightness even managing to poke through some of that cloud.
01:40But very blustery winds around across all areas of the UK.
01:44Gales in exposure as well certainly will be noticeable.
01:48But those winds are coming in from a south-westerly direction, which is a mild direction filtering
01:53in that mild air still.
01:55So temperatures by the afternoon reaching highs of 15 to 16 degrees Celsius, and that is notably
02:01above where we'd normally expect to be for this time at the start of November.
02:07The mild and unsettled theme is looking to continue into Tuesday as well.
02:11Other spells of heavy rain in places, again, particularly out towards the west.
02:16This could cause some localised flooding in places, so it's worth sticking up to date
02:19with the forecast.
02:20We'll have all the latest with any potential issues as we head later into the week.
02:26So do subscribe to the YouTube channel for all of that, and we'll see you again very soon.
02:29Bye-bye.
