00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog, where we introduce you to the
00:04revised top model FW Talagon facelift for the 2025 model year. An SUV of the extra
00:11class that even makes the 2R look small. In collaboration with its Chinese joint
00:17venture partner FAO, Volkswagen has refreshed its largest SUV in China. The Talagon, which
00:24is based on the modular transverse matrix, is the sister model of the Atlas in the USA
00:28and the VW Teramex built by SAIC Volkswagen. Within the confusing VW China portfolio with
00:35names like Tayron, Taigon and Taru, the Talagon nevertheless remains a special vehicle. Developed
00:42exclusively for the Chinese market and produced there together with FAO. With the facelift for 2025,
00:49the already impressive SUV grows by another 2 centimeters to a total length of around 5.2
00:54meters. This means that it towers over the 2R available in Europe by almost 30 centimeters,
01:00which is only around 4.9 meters long. No other MB platform supports a larger model.
01:08The first official images from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology
01:13show a gently revised exterior design with a revised radiator grille, slimmer light strip
01:18at the front, a new rear graphic and a fresh rear apron. Noticeably, the previous tailpipe trims
01:26have disappeared. The exhaust pipes are now discreetly hidden behind a hint of a diffuser.
01:33For sporty customers, there is the airline variant with more aggressive styling and the
01:38obligatory air emblem in the radiator grille. The generous amount of space remains unchanged by
01:44the facelift. The Talagon retains its almost 3 meters long wheelbase and offers a choice of 6 or 7
01:51seats. The SUV is currently powered by a turbocharged 2L four-cylinder with 272 horsepower. It is currently
02:00unclear whether the previously offered 2.5L V6 with 299 horsepower will also be carried over into the
02:07revised version. Previously, the basic model was also available with a 2L four-cylinder with 186
02:14horsepower or a more powerful variant with 220 horsepower. The top model features a V6 turbo
02:21engine coupled to a Seabang dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive. The maximum torque of the most
02:27powerful engine is around 406 Nm. The first design ideas for the Talagon were presented in 2019 with
02:36the sports multi-purpose vehicle concept at the Shanghai Auto Show. At that time, a roughly 5.2 meters
02:43long SUV with three rows of seats was already on display, which was 8 centimeters longer than the
02:48Terram X from SAC. With its flatter, fanciful appearance, the concept car was reminiscent of
02:55the Mercedes A-Class. The VW Talagor finally celebrated its final debut at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show.
03:03The production model measures around 5.2 meters in length, is just over 2 meters wide and around 1.8 meters
03:10high. Here too, the MQB wheelbase has been stretched to around 3 meters, which allows for an extremely
03:17spacious and flexibly usable interior. The model, which is based on the MQB Evo platform, offers
03:23state-of-the-art technology. Highlights include illuminated door handles and roof rails as well
03:28as an illuminated VW logo at the rear. Inside, the driver can expect the so-called InnoVision cockpit
03:35with a free-floating display design that further emphasizes the spaciousness of the interior.
03:41Prices for the new facelift have not yet been officially announced. However, the predecessor is
03:47currently available from around 34,500 euros. As always, you can read the full article in the video
