00:00Welcome to the new video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04Today, we're talking about the Gili EX5, the Chinese brand's first global electric SUV,
00:10which is now launching in several European markets.
00:13With this compact model, Gili wants to appeal to fleet customers in particular
00:18and secure a place in the competitive European market.
00:22The SUV was introduced in China under the name Galaxy A5 in May 2024
00:27and is now being launched under the name EX5 in Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
00:34North Macedonia, Montenegro and the United Kingdom, among others.
00:40The fact that Great Britain has been added to the market is a clear sign.
00:45The EX5 should soon be on German roads too, because it is not just another new electric model.
00:51It is the first Gili model with EU-wide approval.
00:54A clear indication of the group's ambitions.
00:59Technically, the EX5 offers a range of 430 kilometers according to WLTP
01:05and is available in two battery variants with either 49 or 60 kWh lithium-ion phosphate batteries.
01:13The larger battery variant enables the stated range.
01:16Up to 100 kW are possible when fast charging via direct current,
01:21with the charging process from 10 to 80% taking around 28 minutes.
01:26An 11 kW onboard charger is integrated for charging via alternating current.
01:31Under the hood is an electric motor with an output of 160 kW,
01:36which equates to around 217 horsepower.
01:39The torque is 320 Nm.
01:41The sprint from 0 to 100 km per hour takes 6.9 seconds and the top speed is 175 km per hour.
01:52With a length of 4.6 meters, the EX5 is indeed moving towards the mid-range on paper.
01:59However, its low price and rather compact positioning make it an interesting proposition
02:03in the electric compact SUV segment.
02:07The vehicle also looks modern,
02:10thanks to a panoramic roof with 11 adjustment options and UV protection, among other things.
02:16The digital equipment includes a 15.4-inch touchscreen and a 10.2-inch driver display.
02:23The price is particularly exciting.
02:26In China, the model starts at the equivalent of less than 15,000 euros in a basic version.
02:31In Europe, especially in Germany, however, it is likely to be more expensive.
02:37Experts expect the price range of between around 25,000 euros and around 35,000 euros.
02:44That would still be a very competitive offer,
02:46especially for company car fleets or environmentally conscious families with a limited budget.
02:52Whether the EX5 will actually come to Germany remains to be seen.
02:56However, with its EU-wide approval, the chances are not bad.
