00:00Welcome to the new video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:04This time, we're talking about the brand new Chevrolet Spark EUV,
00:08a surprisingly affordable electric SUV with exciting performance data.
00:13With this model, Chevrolet has clearly committed itself to the trend of affordable electromobility
00:19and is bringing an interesting alternative to the road with the Spark,
00:22which originated in the Chinese market and is already on the road there under the name Bijan Yet Plus.
00:30The new Chevrolet Spark is a joint development from the Chinese joint venture PJM Wohling,
00:35in which General Motors is involved.
00:39With the Spark, Chevrolet is not only meeting the demand for affordable electric vehicles,
00:44but is also reviving the name of an earlier small car,
00:47which many people in Germany still remember as the Davout Matis or later as the Opel Karl.
00:53However, apart from the name, the Spark has little in common with the new model.
00:57The new one is a clear crossover with significantly more space and technology.
01:02In terms of appearance, the Spark presents itself as a cute SUV with a retro off-road flair,
01:07compact and practical at the same time.
01:10The exterior length is 4 meters, the width is around 1.8 meters,
01:15the height is around 1.7 meters and the wheelbase measures around 2.6 meters.
01:19Dimensions that put it in direct competition with models such as the new Fiat Grande Panda Electric.
01:29Under the hood is a 75 kilowatts electric motor on the front axle,
01:33which delivers a torque of around 180 newton meters.
01:36The energy for this comes from a lithium-iron phosphate battery with a storage capacity of around 42 kilowatts,
01:45which enables a solid range in this class.
01:49The top speed is around 150 kilometers per hour,
01:52which is more than sufficient for a small electric SUV.
01:55Although the charging times are not on the level of Western premium electric vehicles,
02:01they are perfectly adequate for everyday use.
02:04The charging capacity on alternating current is 6.6 kilowatts.
02:09At fast charging stations, it takes around 35 minutes to charge the battery from 30 to 80%.
02:15This corresponds to an average charging capacity of less than 40 kilowatts,
02:21which is rather leisurely but acceptable for the target group.
02:23It is also interesting to know where Chevrolet plans to offer the spark.
02:29In addition to its home market in China,
02:31it is planned to sell it in South America, Africa and the Middle East.
02:35Things are looking rather bleak for Europe.
02:38An official import is not planned at the moment.
02:41Nevertheless, price information for markets such as Germany is already circulating.
02:46The price for the spark in this country is expected to be around 11,000 euros.
02:50An astonishingly low entry-level price for a fully-fledged electric vehicle.
02:56By comparison, the price in China starts at the equivalent of around 12,000 euros.
03:03This positions the spark significantly below many competitors
03:07and should be particularly interesting for urban users looking for a compact and affordable ISUV.
