00:03This time, we're talking about the exciting new products from MG,
00:07which are issuing a clear challenge to Tesla with the brand new IM5 and IM6.
00:12The two all-electric models, a sedan and an SUV,
00:16are celebrating their premiere for the British market
00:18and are aimed directly at the well-known Model 3 and Model Y customers.
00:24The new brand IM, short for Intelligence in Motion,
00:27was founded in 2020 as a joint project between Sieg Alibaba and Shanghai Tech.
00:34Since its launch in China in 2022,
00:37the portfolio has already included four electric models.
00:40The two models IM5 and IM6, intended for the UK,
00:44are now celebrating their premiere at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
00:49The IM5 is a sporty four-door sedan with flowing lines.
00:53Equipped with a 100 kWh lithium-ion battery,
00:58it achieves an impressive range of around 710 kilometers.
01:04Thanks to its 800-volt architecture,
01:06the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 17 minutes, according to MG.
01:11A top value that currently no public charger in the UK supports.
01:19A battery with 75 kWh is also available for a cheaper entry-level version,
01:24which enables a range of around 530 kilometers.
01:30Prices for the IM5 start at around 45,000 euros,
01:34while the version with the larger battery costs around 52,000 euros.
01:38The most powerful performance version costs around 56,000 euros.
01:46The technically almost identical IM6, an SUV,
01:50is not offered with a smaller battery and starts at around 55,000 euros as a long-range model.
01:56The performance version is around 59,000 euros.
01:59A special highlight of the top variants is the new Hurricane dual-motor drive,
02:06which delivers a whopping 778 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque.
02:12This allows the IM5 to sprint from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just around 3.2 seconds,
02:18while the IM6 needs around 3.5 seconds.
02:21Inside, both models feature a futuristic design with a huge 66 centimeters curved infotainment screen,
02:31complemented by another central display measuring around 27 centimeters.
02:36You won't find any physical buttons here.
02:39Standard features include a panoramic roof, an automatic parking function,
02:46a special driving mode for rainy nights and rear axle steering,
02:49which gives the IM5 a turning circle of less than 10 meters.
02:55Further details on the technology,
02:57possible special editions such as the lighter edition with a new type of battery,
03:01and the market launch are expected in the coming months.
