00:04Today we're talking about the return of Dutch e-bike manufacturer Vanmo,
00:08which is making a fresh start with two new models, the S6 and the S6 Open.
00:14After the company had to file for bankruptcy in 2023,
00:17Vanmo is now returning to the market under the management of new owners,
00:21specifically McLaren Applied, with technically revised e-bikes.
00:26Deliveries will begin in August 2025.
00:28The price is around âŹ3,300.
00:34The S6 and the S6 Open were developed over 11 years of work
00:38and are visually similar to their predecessors, but offer noticeable technical improvements.
00:47Both models reach a top speed of 25 kmh and are equipped with a 250-watt front hub motor
00:53that generates a maximum torque of 68 Nm.
00:58Power is distributed across four support levels.
01:02A boost button on the handlebars releases full power for a short time when needed,
01:07ideal for quickly starting off at traffic lights.
01:10The battery, which is permanently installed in the frame,
01:12has a capacity of 487-watt-hours and enables ranges of between around 60 and 150 km,
01:18depending on the riding style.
01:22The charging time is between two and a half hours and half and a half hours for a full charge.
01:29The new Halo display significantly improves the readability of the charge status compared to previous generations.
01:35Another technical highlight is the automatic three-speed shifting in the rear wheel,
01:41which is now said to be significantly more reliable and robust.
01:46The hydraulic disc brakes ensure safe braking.
01:50Thanks to Apple's Find My integration,
01:53theft tracking is also part of the new security concept,
01:55which is supplemented by the further developed, now waterproof kicklock system,
01:59which locks the rear wheel with a kick of the foot.
02:04LED lights integrated into the frame are also fitted as standard.
02:10A smartphone holder from Peak Design offers a secure solution for mobile navigation,
02:14which Vanmoov plans to add via app later this year.
02:20The S6 weighs 23 kg and is suitable for riders up to 2.10 m tall.
02:29The S6 Open with its low entry is designed for people from 1.50 m tall.
02:37While the S6 is equipped with 27.5-inch wheels,
02:41the S6 Open rides on 24-inch wheels.
02:44A suspension seat post with 3 cm of suspension travel is also optionally available for more comfort.
02:51The colors are blue, light gray and black.
02:55You can reserve it for a deposit of around 150 euros.
02:59Both models impress, especially in the city,
03:03with a comfortable, upright seating position thanks to the cranked handlebars.
