00:00Game six tonight, World Series in Toronto.
00:03The Dodgers taking on the Blue Jays here.
00:05Yamamoto versus Gaussman.
00:07The line here in that mid-140s, depending on where you're shopping at,
00:10and a total listed at seven and a half.
00:13Dodgers, Jays, Joe, what is the spread line for tonight's game six?
00:18Well, here we go again, Donnie Wright.
00:20Seven, seven and a half here.
00:22Yamamoto has got to save the day one more time.
00:25Eighteen and a half outs is an interesting prop for Yamamoto here.
00:29Does Dave Roberts trust that bullpen enough?
00:32Will they let Yamamoto do as much and go as long as humanly possible here?
00:37It is all hands on deck for the Dodgers.
00:40But, Donnie, once again, what we're starting to see is a lot of money
00:43coming in on Toronto in this spot here.
00:46All the value on Toronto to close it out.
00:49Nobody there wants a game seven.
00:51Plus money might be your last opportunity to get it in Major League Baseball.
00:56I want a game seven.
00:57And why I'll probably be asleep before first pitch tonight
01:00because I've got to go wake up early for the people
01:02and do college football today in studio.
01:04Give me game seven.
01:05I can wait up Saturday.
01:06And, by the way, fall back on the clocks on Sunday.
01:09We sleep late.
01:10Yes.
01:11We're going to talk some World Series baseball in just a few moments here.
01:14But yesterday we had a young kid get hired as a manager
01:16for the Washington Nationals, 33 years old.
01:19And that's not even maybe the most interesting hire of the offseason.
01:21It was Tennessee's baseball coach going to become a manager in the pros.
01:28And that was Mr. Vitello here.
01:29He had a press conference yesterday and some things to tell the fans
01:32out there in San Fran.
01:34I have spent some – I know it'll be a question later.
01:35I have spent some time around this organization, either as a fan
01:39or just watching or, again, through business ways.
01:42I'm fully aware of the tradition that's here
01:44and the excellence that's been brought by managers like Bochy, Dusty Baker,
01:52the toughness from guys like Baumgartner and Romo,
01:56the loyalty, which is incredibly important, you know, word to me and my family,
02:01which is epitomized by the guy to my right,
02:04and, you know, the records that have been set by guys like Bonds and Mays
02:09and Linscombe and everybody else.
02:11And then, you know, the one thing that always got to me was the family,
02:17the sense of family that was a part of this organization.
02:19And one of the players I coached came up during Hunter Pence's playing days
02:23and just talked about how good that guy was to everybody in the organization,
02:28especially younger, aspiring players and rookies.
02:31So there's a lot to learn from, from the past,
02:35and there is very high expectations, very high standards to meet because of the past.
02:41Welcome into the Giants, Joe.
02:42Best thing I could say there is I hope you can read a spreadsheet
02:45because that's all you're going to be doing as manager of the Giants.
02:48I would have much preferred if he just came out, Donnie.
02:51He was like, listen, I promise this guy to my right,
02:54when he sends me who to put on the lineup card,
02:57I will spell every name correctly, and I will make sure word for word,
03:02I do everything this guy on the right tells me to do
03:05because that is all managers and Major League Baseball have become.
03:10Exactly.
03:11Now the Giants are watching the postseason just like about everybody else
03:14outside of just two teams.
03:15That's the Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays.
03:17For game six tonight in the six, the crowd should be rocking.
03:21An eight o'clock start tonight from Toronto, Yamamoto versus Gaussman.
03:25The line opened up at minus 142, Joe.
03:27It's still sitting there at FanDuel.
03:29$149 at DraftKings, $140 at BetMGM, $150 at Bet365.
03:33So make sure you're shopping around to get the best possible price.
03:36Again, a total that sits at seven and a half.
03:39The expectations are a championship is on the line.
03:43The winner tonight, if it is Toronto, they will be World Series champion.
03:47The winner tonight, if it is the Dodgers,
03:49we get a game seven on Saturday night for all of the marbles.
03:52How does this game play out knowing that Yamamoto has been nothing short of spectacular?
03:56But then again, there's that Toronto lineup that just doesn't give a damn who your pitcher is, Joe.
04:02Yeah, I think what we're starting to see here, and I think we've had signs of this,
04:08is that, you know, it's not like the Blue Jays won 75 games, you know,
04:14and made it in by the skin of their teeth, Donnie,
04:17and they're just playing so far over their head.
04:19They were the best team in the American League,
04:22and they showed it all throughout the playoffs here.
04:25And the Dodgers were not the best team during the regular season.
04:29And they've got a lot of holes up and down, a lot of warts on this team.
04:34Now, granted, all four of their number one stud starting pitchers have been available,
04:40which is kind of crazy this time of year.
04:42Not a lot of teams can say that.
04:44But they have, you know, their position players are all getting older here, Donnie.
04:48They've got a payroll through the roof.
04:50I don't know that they come out and there is a Game 7.
04:54I really don't think they do.
04:55I think it's a big ask.
04:57I don't know that the Mookie Betts is just going to flip a switch,
05:00or this offense is going to flip a switch, Donnie,
05:03and all of a sudden they're just, they're going to become this, well, Toronto.
05:07Because that's what everyone had expected,
05:10is that what Toronto is doing right now offensively,
05:13that's what they expected from the Dodgers.
05:15But we haven't gotten that, Donnie.
05:17And I don't know in an elimination game, we get that here tonight either,
05:21which means this World Series could be over here tonight.
05:24Crowd is going to be crazy tonight.
05:26And by the way, if you are a player,
05:28I don't care if you're a superstar or a bench player,
05:30you want to be in these game-clinching scenarios.
05:32And how about John Schneider says he expects George Springer
05:34to return to the Blue Jays lineup for game number six.
05:37You would have to drag me out of that game in a coffin
05:40for me not to try to participate in George Springer.
05:43I don't care about my oblique.
05:44I don't care if my knee injury.
05:45I don't care about anything.
05:46Put me in that lineup, coach.
05:49Yeah, well, let's listen.
05:51And he will, absolutely.
05:53Because I think he pinched Rand in that game,
05:55in the last game too as well.
05:57So yeah, you're going to go with your best
05:59and what got you there, right?
06:01And that's the other thing, Donnie.
06:03Toronto has some options here.
06:05And there is no options for the Dodgers.
06:08Like, it is all hands on deck.
06:10I mean, they're talking about maybe even bringing in,
06:12if things start to go sideways, will Otani pitch again?
06:16What's getting...
06:16You know, this is going to be very interesting
06:20to see how Dave Roberts handles this game here tonight.
06:23And what is that lineup going to be, Donnie?
06:26Are we still putting Mookie Betts third?
06:28Is that what we're doing here?
06:30Yeah, look, he makes a lot of money.
06:31You can't disrespect him, Joe, by moving him out of there.
06:34It's better to have him strike out and clog the bases, per se,
06:37up in the early net lineup.
06:38But I'll tell you who's not clogging any bases right now
06:40and doing some historical things.
06:42Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the first player
06:44in Major League Baseball history
06:45with at least 25 hits, eight home runs,
06:48and 15 RBI in a single postseason.
06:51Let me tell you this.
06:52He wins the World Series in Toronto here.
06:55Just put that statue out front of the Rogers Center.
06:58He doesn't have to do another thing in Toronto.
07:00Here's the thing when we talk about championships, right?
07:03Kawhi Leonard is an interesting individual.
07:04He goes to Toronto for one season
07:07and wins a championship with the Raptors.
07:09If he just re-signed with the Raptors,
07:10it would be legendary stuff for the rest of his life, Mr. Canada.
07:14But for some reason, he didn't want to stay in Canada.
07:16Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the hero that you need in Toronto
07:19because not only is he a great baseball player,
07:22seems like a fun guy, but says all the right things like,
07:25I would never play for the Yankees.
07:27I don't care what they paid me.
07:29And then you might go on and win a World Series in Toronto.
07:31So, mint this guy as an all-time Toronto legend
07:34if he gets this done.
07:38Absolutely.
07:39And kudos to him.
07:40You know, his old man was pretty good, too,
07:42but unfortunately never got to this part of the baseball season
07:47and what was a Hall of Fame career.
07:49But his kid certainly is.
07:51And he is delivered on the biggest stage
07:53at the biggest moments here.
07:55And when you talk about superstars, Donnie,
07:57that is what you want to see.
07:59You know, careers, legacies are made in October.
08:03And boy, oh boy, has Vladdy Jr. there put it together
08:08in epic fashion.
08:10Clearly, I don't know what his price was
08:11for the MVP pre-World Series, Donnie.
08:14He wasn't the favorite, right?
08:17I don't think so.
08:18I don't think he was at that point.
08:19I don't think he was.
08:19I mean, it's just, yeah, it's tremendous stuff
08:21to watch a play out.
08:22And again, it is amazing where you expect your superstars
08:25to perform in the biggest moments,
08:26and he's absolutely doing that.
08:27So with Shohei Ohtani, may the best man win,
08:30and we'll see if that means tonight
08:31a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. home run
08:33or a Shohei Ohtani home run.
08:36If we look at that odds market here,
08:37Ohtani currently sitting here at a live price
08:40of plus 215, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
08:43at a four-to-one price, Muncie plus 450,
08:45Springer, Will Smith, Freddie Freeman.
08:47Somebody probably is going yard tonight,
08:49and you got some juicy numbers.
08:50And by the way, Joe, we've seen those Ohtani numbers
08:52as low as plus 140.
08:53So at least, hey, some value of plus 215 here.
08:56Well, you know, and that's the problem.
08:59He's like Scotty Scheffler in golf.
09:00Like, you're never going to get a good number
09:03for him to do anything here.
09:05But it doesn't mean it's a bad play.
09:07It just means that you're never going to get
09:08any value backing it.
09:10But listen, he's been the only guy
09:12that has showed up here.
09:14And it's not like he's had a great postseason either.
09:17He's had huge moments,
09:19which kind of have everyone forgetting
09:21that he hasn't exactly been crushing
09:24the ball here, Donnie,
09:25on a consistent basis this postseason.
09:28So that's a big ask at that price
09:31to lay it down on him.
09:33Now, I'll tell you, here's a big ask now.
09:35It's game six and possibly game seven.
09:37The Dodgers were heavy favorites
09:38coming into the series,
09:39and we saw three straight games
09:40where the Dodgers, Joe,
09:41were favored at minus 200 or higher.
09:43They're still the favorites tonight,
09:44but let's call it minus 145.
09:45If we do look at the series price
09:48to win now, Joe,
09:49is there any optimism as a Dodgers backer
09:52where you're almost getting a plus 200 price
09:54if they can win game six and game seven?
09:56And understand this,
09:57they will be favored in game six and game seven.
10:00Doesn't mean you win,
10:01because obviously if that would just bet on odds, Joe,
10:04Dodgers should already walk away
10:05to a championship they didn't.
10:06Any juice here for you
10:08in betting the Dodgers
10:09at close to a two-to-one price?
10:11Well, listen, I think anybody
10:12that had the Dodgers
10:13already got a decent price to hedge on Toronto.
10:16But if you had a Toronto ticket, Donnie,
10:19now is your opportunity
10:20to hedge out on the Dodgers at that price
10:24because you're never going to get it again.
10:27Let's take a look at some Major League Baseball tonight.
10:29Game number six, Tom, in Toronto tonight
10:31as a favorite.
10:32The Dodgers, always a favorite here.
10:33They're not the favorite in the series right now.
10:35It's actually the Toronto Blue Jays,
10:36a big favorite here.
10:37You're getting almost a plus 200 price
10:39if you think that the Dodgers
10:41can come back in this series.
10:42But we're not going to get to a game number seven
10:43without playing game number six tonight, Tom.
10:45Yamamoto versus Gaussman,
10:47a total of seven and a half,
10:48and a favorite, let's call it minus 145,
10:51depending where you're shopping at for the Dodgers.
10:53Do we see a game number seven?
10:54Or how do we attack this game tonight in Toronto?
10:57I think the juice has run out for the Dodgers.
11:00But if you want a game seven,
11:02and that's what you're backing,
11:03I would not lay the minus 142.
11:05I think it has to be a big Yamamoto game.
11:07Over six and a half strikeouts is plus 108.
11:09The Dodgers' bullpen has been terrible.
11:11Keeping Yamamoto in the game
11:13for as long as possible
11:14is the best route for the Dodgers to win this.
11:16Do not let the bullpen get involved
11:18before they have to.
11:19So look to a Yamamoto over strikeouts,
11:21over outs reported.
11:23And frankly, a Yamamoto at 13-1 MVP price,
11:27if they force a game seven,
11:28I think they'll win the game five to one,
11:31three to one, two to one.
11:32They're not going to win this game seven to five.
11:34So if they force a game seven,
11:36it's going to be solely
11:36because Yamamoto is dominant yet again.
11:39Get us to game number seven
11:41and all hands on deck Saturday night.
11:43It would be wonderful for us
11:44and also the ratings here,
11:46unless you have a ticket on the Toronto Blue Jays.
11:48That ain't wonderful.
11:49Come back, yo, he's wonderful.
11:50Thanks for joining us.
11:51We'll be right back on the early line.
11:53What a week on the early line.
11:55Monday through Friday,
11:567 a.m. to 9 a.m. each and every workday.
11:59It's myself, Donnie Wrightside.
12:00It's Joe Ranieri setting you up
12:02and letting you know exactly
12:03what's going to take place that night,
12:04what happened the night before,
12:05what happens into the future here.
12:07And as we talk about the future, Joe,
12:09this is the last day of October.
12:10It's Halloween, 1031.
12:13Tomorrow turns into November the 1st.
12:16And also, it's been a long time, Joe.
12:18We've had baseball in our lives.
12:20No matter what happens tonight or Saturday,
12:23we're going to be here on a Monday morning, Joe,
12:25with no more Major League Baseball.
12:27Just a sign of the times at this point
12:29where things do change,
12:30new seasons start,
12:32seasons have to end,
12:33and that's the way it's supposed to be.
12:34But understand this,
12:35at this point of the show,
12:36Joe and I talk a lot.
12:38We like to reach out to the people
12:39and find out what's on their mind
12:40with a certain question.
12:42This is our Fade the Public Poll.
12:51I'm telling you people right now,
12:52I will not be awake when this game is midway through.
12:55And that's game six of the World Series.
12:56I love Major League Baseball,
12:58but I promise you,
13:00I will be up for the entirety
13:01of game number seven on Saturday night
13:04if you can get me there.
13:06And this is what we asked.
13:07And if you want to find the Fade the Public Poll,
13:09you must be following at SportsGrid on X.
13:11The question we asked today,
13:13will the Dodgers force a game seven
13:15in this year's World Series?
13:17I love this.
13:18The answers are,
13:19I hope not,
13:20and I hope so.
13:21Basically,
13:22a 50-50 split
13:24as it is right now.
13:2550-50, Joe.
13:26It's tough, Donnie,
13:30because I hope not.
13:32I hope it's over
13:33because let's just end baseball season right now.
13:36And listen,
13:37because if we give the Dodgers a seventh game,
13:40we're inviting them to once again,
13:42go back to back.
13:43And no,
13:44no,
13:44as a Yankee fan,
13:45I am never going to root
13:47for the Dodgers to win anything.
13:48So to me,
13:50absolutely.
13:51Toronto,
13:52your best chance
13:53at a World Championship
13:54tonight.
13:55End it.
13:56You get to a game seven
13:57and all cards are off the table
13:59at that point, Donnie.
