00:00Let's get at the Major League Baseball tonight.
00:02Another game in the World Series.
00:03It's game number five.
00:04This series is tied 2-2 after a victory yesterday by the Toronto Blue Jays.
00:09Starting pitchers on the mound today.
00:10You savage for Toronto.
00:11The young kid going, you know what?
00:13I'm going to step up in a big spot going up against Blake Snell.
00:15Three straight days, Joe.
00:16Minus 200 or higher for the Los Angeles Dodgers on the money line
00:21as it sits once again tonight.
00:23What is your spread line for the Jays and the Dodgers?
00:26Well, look at that total, Donnie.
00:27And now we're back down to seven and a half,
00:30which is what we were in the first two games.
00:32And then, of course, once it switched to L.A.,
00:35we ended up getting eight, eight and a half.
00:38Now, it pushed last night, depending if you got eight or eight and a half.
00:41If you got eight and a half, that's kind of a bad beat,
00:44given the fact that Dodgers had been averaging five and a half runs a game
00:48in this series.
00:48But they didn't average that last night.
00:51And the Toronto Blue Jays took advantage.
00:54But now, you know, we start the clock over.
00:56Both these lineups have seen both these starting pitches already, Donnie,
01:01which is why I find it fascinating that seven and a halves are available.
01:05I may look here to watch this number grow.
01:09So if you like the over, I would bet this sooner rather than later
01:13because I only see this number hitting eight, maybe even eight and a half.
01:17Yeah, you know what's fun, too, is just look at that Toronto lineup.
01:20Like, Bo Bichette banged up coming back to the World Series, hitting 364.
01:23Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in the playoffs, 419.
01:26Alejandro Kirk, 254.
01:27Ernie Clement, 393.
01:29Addison Barger, 327.
01:31Guys are stepping up, some unheralded guys.
01:33But we knew that coming in.
01:34This team, talking about the Blue Jays, is going to be scrappy.
01:37And I love the fact that it's 2-2.
01:38So much fun.
01:39And get us a Game 7 in Toronto.
01:42That would be absolutely spectacular.
01:44So, Hump Day Wednesday, we're just getting started on the early line.
01:47Joe and Donnie, we'll be right back.
01:48Series tie, 2-2.
01:50Chavez Ravine, one more game.
01:52If we head back to the 6 in Toronto, should be a great one to watch once again tonight.
01:568 p.m. Eastern, 5 p.m. Pacific.
02:00Tonight, the starting pitchers on the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays.
02:02You savage going up against Snell, the lefty, for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
02:06And much like we talked about, Joe, for the previous couple nights,
02:09the Dodgers, maybe deservedly so, a heavy favorite at a minus 205 to minus 210 price,
02:14depending on where you're shopping at.
02:15Now, the total has been bouncing around.
02:17You see the graphic up there at 7 1⁄2.
02:19Opened up at 8, dropped to 7 1⁄2.
02:21Now, most outlets are back to 8 this morning.
02:24Let's start there, Joe.
02:25Snell, you savage, monster favorite for the Dodgers.
02:30Monster favorite, you know, some will say absolutely should be.
02:34I mean, Snell wasn't great the first go around,
02:37but he has been great for the Dodgers all season long here.
02:41And you savage, it's different pitching at the Rogers Center at home
02:45than it is while pitching on the road now in L.A.
02:49in the biggest moment of your young career.
02:52So, it is certainly advantage Dodgers.
02:55So, I get the price point there, but we keep going back to it, Johnny.
03:00Yeah, puncher's chance here.
03:02I mean, Les Snell is absolutely on fire.
03:07And he is going to need to do exactly what Bieber did last night for Toronto.
03:11He's going to need to go out there and just take the air out of the sails of this lineup,
03:17keep the ball in the ballpark here,
03:19and hopefully somebody out – you can't just have Otani doing it all if you're the Dodgers lineup.
03:25Like, where is Mookie Betts?
03:27Where has he been?
03:28Where are these guys down the order?
03:30Where is Muncie?
03:31Where is – none of these guys have really delivered on a consistent basis.
03:35It's Otani or Bust right now for the Dodgers lineup, and that's not good news here.
03:40And also, you take a look, too, when you say, okay, Blake Snell.
03:43Like, we talked about this to start the series.
03:45Like, I know how well the Dodgers pitching staff has been mid-September to late-September
03:49into early October in the playoffs.
03:51Like, every starting pitcher they have seems to go seven innings with one earned run
03:55and good luck beating them.
03:56But sooner or later, you're going to come back,
03:57and you're going to have a little regression to the mean, which is what you're seeing.
04:00Like, Otani wasn't God last night on the mound.
04:02He was vulnerable, and that's why you had to be able to pounce on him for Toronto.
04:05And you did that.
04:06You take a look at Blake Snell, his first start in the playoffs.
04:08Six innings pitched, one hit, no earned runs against the Phillies.
04:12Game number two for him, eight innings pitched, one hit, and ten strikeouts against the Brewers.
04:17Now he goes up against the Blue Jays.
04:18Five innings pitched, five earned runs.
04:20The same thing we saw last night from Shoei Otani getting lit up a little bit.
04:23That's a sign of a really good hitting lineup right now, as we've seen for the Toronto Blue Jays, Joe.
04:27But if we flip it over to Yosavage, it's been a mixed bag for him.
04:30His first start was electric against the Yankees in the playoffs.
04:33Then he gets roughed up by the Mariners.
04:35Then he has a quality start against the Mariners,
04:37and an average at-best start last time around against the Dodgers.
04:40The one thing that we do know is both of these pitchers have been seen by that lineup, Joe.
04:44Who has that advantage?
04:46And maybe does that play into a total tonight?
04:47Well, Snell's going to have the advantage regardless, because, you know, he's been there.
04:54He's done that.
04:54He's the more experienced pitcher.
04:56You're savages in uncharted waters here, Donnie.
04:59I mean, those other games there were at the Rogers Center against those teams.
05:04A lot easier when you're sleeping in your own bed and you have your routine going.
05:08Totally different animal when you're starting, you know, game five of the World Series here on the road in L.A.
05:15under the lights here.
05:17This is going to be a test for this young pitcher, but it's absolutely advantage Dodgers here,
05:23which is why they're still a $2 favorite.
05:25And they are a heavy favorite, too, because we're anticipating great pitching performances out of their starting pitchers.
05:31But you take a look at some of the big wigs in that lineup that have been known to perform throughout the season,
05:35and the Dodgers' offense has struggled here, particularly through the first four games of the 2025 World Series.
05:41Mookie Betts, 3 of 19.
05:43Max Muncy, 3 for 17.
05:45Tommy Edmund, 3 of 18.
05:46You couldn't get that guy out last year in the playoffs in the World Series.
05:49Kike Hernandez, 3 for 16.
05:52Guys have to step up in the big spots here if you want to win a World Series.
05:54You can't always lean on Shohei Ohtani bailing you out with three home runs, Joe.
05:59Yeah, well, that's exactly it.
06:01It has been Ohtani a bust for this Dodgers team in this World Series, and that is not good.
06:06So give credit to the pitching staff of the Toronto Blue Jays for limiting those guys.
06:13But at this point, if all you have is Ohtani and occasionally Freeman with the big hit,
06:18you know, you're in pretty good shape here if you are the Toronto Blue Jays.
06:22So those guys have to step up.
06:24You've got to get production from Mookie Betts, Donnie.
06:27At some point, he has got to turn the switch here, and he has got to become who he can be
06:32and what we know Mookie Betts is.
06:34But he hasn't been that guy for a while here.
06:37No, certainly hasn't.
06:38We'll see what happens tonight.
06:39And again, a heavy favorite here for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
06:42If we do take a look at the World Series winner, which means not only factoring in who's going
06:46to win tonight, but who do you think is going to win this series?
06:48You take a look at Dodgers tonight.
06:49Let's just call it minus 205.
06:51But for the series price, Joe, they're a minus 190.
06:54You take a look at tonight for an underdog price made around a plus 175 for those Toronto
06:58Blue Jays for the series.
07:00As you see, that's a plus 160 price.
07:02Any value, Joe, in either side on the Dodgers or the Blue Jays with those prices?
07:07Well, this is a big one here tonight, right?
07:10Because it goes back to Toronto and stays in Toronto until we get a winner.
07:15So Toronto has been much better at home than on the road.
07:19We know this here.
07:20And yeah, it could very well be advantage Toronto.
07:23So the fact that if Toronto wins this game, Donnie, what is Toronto's price going to be
07:28tomorrow morning for game six?
07:30I bet you it ain't going to be at that price.
07:33No, certainly not.
07:33Like, honestly, what would you say, though?
07:35Because now you're moving back to Toronto where Toronto has to win one game out of two.
07:39Toronto, honestly, Joe, even though the heavy public and they're still trying to balance
07:42it out, Toronto wins tonight.
07:44They're a favorite to win this series, no?
07:47I agree.
07:48Absolutely.
07:48It flips.
07:49It has to flip because they're going in back home in which they've had a ton of success
07:54all year long.
07:55So yeah, advantage Toronto.
07:57Dodgers, better figure it out.
07:59They got to get production offensively from somebody else.
08:02All of these no-name guys, these young guys, right?
08:05These scrappy guys on Toronto.
08:07You're getting production from the bottom half of that order.
08:09We've seen big hit after big hit from these guys.
08:13We've seen nothing like that from the Dodgers outside of an occasional solo home run early
08:19in the game by you-know-who.
08:21Outside of that, where is the production in the bottom half of this lineup?
08:24Where is it?
08:26By the way, is a better way to bet this series just taking the MVP?
08:30The reason I ask that, we just posted the prices here for each one of these teams to win.
08:34Now, if the Dodgers win the World Series, Shohei Ohtani is listed at a minus 160 price as it
08:40lists here.
08:40Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is a plus 320 price.
08:44So if you figure Toronto wins this series, it's probably going to be Vladdy and get a
08:48plus 320.
08:49But also, if the Dodgers win this series, as you saw the price points coming out today,
08:52you are getting a discount on Shohei Ohtani.
08:55Would it be better, Joe, instead of betting the side, which means either team, just take
08:59Ohtani or Guerrero?
09:00Or, Donnie, there's too much baseball left to be played in games 5, 6, and 7.
09:04You could have Freddie Freeman go yard in games 5, 6, and 7 and steal that limelight from Ohtani.
09:11Yeah, you absolutely could, right?
09:13Wouldn't that would maybe be the least shocking thing in the world, right?
09:16That Freddie Freeman does another walk-off situation here, which is what he's been known
09:21to do.
09:22But yeah, I would say those two guys are the front runners, for sure, Donnie.
09:26One of them, if their team goes on to win and everything stays status quo, is going to be
09:30your MVP.
09:31It's just a matter of who wins the series.
09:33And we take a look at tonight's action, too, where we said multiple times, a heavy favorite
09:37for the Los Angeles Dodgers in a total of eight, which means we're anticipating runs.
09:41We got eight runs last night, six out of Toronto, two out of the Yankees, excuse me, two out of
09:45the Dodgers.
09:45We'll see if that flips.
09:46But understand this.
09:47You look at the home run market tonight.
09:49They don't want you anywhere near Shohei Ohtani, plus 162 price for Ohtani, Max Muncy, four
09:55to one price, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., plus 420, Will Smith, plus 460.
09:59If you had to take a stab at one of these and say, I think I'll take this guy, who would
10:04it be?
10:05And what price point would you go after it, Joe?
10:07It's so hard to.
10:09It really is, Donnie.
10:10At this point, it's so hard to say.
10:12And there's so many variables.
10:13It's kind of crazy that we're at this point in this series and we're coin flipping situations
10:20like this and awards like this.
10:21Like, who is it, Donnie?
10:22I don't know.
10:23I mean, I honestly, I didn't expect this series to be this close or this, you know, to coming
10:29down to possibly seven.
10:30I didn't see seven games, even six games coming from this series here.
10:34So I still think a lot depends on what happens tonight and certainly in game six.
10:40And it'll all figure itself out from there.
10:43Interesting, too, because now we're having three straight games, right?
10:46And still in the home city, just like a series during the major league season.
10:49But high tension, high leverage wears you out.
10:5118 inning games wears you out.
10:53It's game number three.
10:55And so much pressure is on the line with the series tied 2-2.
10:58Let's see those statistics on who wins game five of a tied series and goes on to win that
11:03series.
11:03It's astronomical in the favor of the team that picks up the victory tonight.
11:07One final episode here, should I say, segment on the early line for a Wednesday hump day.
11:11A lot of good stuff going on tonight.
11:13College football, we talked about it here.
11:14Major league baseball, absolutely.
11:16But we talk a lot during the show.
11:18You listen to us, but this is the time of the show.
11:20We like to listen to the public.
11:22Here's the day of the public poll.
11:23A social media show.
11:32Yes, we are.
11:33And we like to reach out to the public and say, man, where do these questions get asked?
11:36I want to vote on this.
11:37Very simple.
11:38Go over to X at Sports Grid.
11:40Hit the follow button each and every morning around 6 a.m.
11:42Monday through Friday.
11:44We put out a question to the public.
11:45We want some feedback on.
11:47And today, no surprise.
11:48It's about the World Series people.
11:49The question asked, which money line are you taking tonight in game five between Toronto
11:54and Los Angeles?
11:55Two choices.
11:56The Dodgers had a minus 210 price and the Blue Jays had a plus 176.
12:00The Blue Jays last night, roughly a 200 dog again.
12:04Oh, no.
12:04They picked up the victory the night before.
12:06The Dodgers, 18 innings to catch a minus 200 ticket.
12:10So the question asked, Blue Jays plus 176.
12:12Dodgers minus 210.
12:13And the answers to the poll, 56% live right now, taking the Los Angeles Dodgers as a minus
12:21210 favorite to upend those Blue Jays, Joe.
12:24Which way did you go in the Fade the Public poll today?
12:28Yeah.
12:28I mean, listen, I think the Blue Jays have a puncher's chance.
12:32I've thought it all the way.
12:33I do not like what I am seeing from guys like Will Smith, Mookie Betts, and the bottom of
12:40that order, that seven, eight, and nine hitters in the Dodgers lineup have an OPS of below
12:46700, Donnie.
12:48The entire Blue Jays lineup has a OPS above 800.
12:52You are getting nothing from anybody outside of Freddie Freeman and Otani.
12:58So they better figure it out.
13:00And if they don't, I give absolutely the opportunity and plus money to Toronto to go back up three
13:06games to two.
13:08I love it.
13:08I'm enjoying this World Series.
13:09Sometimes the World Series is boring your teams out of it.
13:12You know, one team runs the other over and looks like that's probably what we were going
13:15to get to start the series.
13:16But credit Toronto for fighting back each and every night.
13:19Best of three now to win the World Series.
13:21You absolutely love to see.
13:23You know who else you love to see?
13:24Joe Ranieri last night with a nice victory on college football in Kennesaw State.
13:28I got burned a little bit of Freddie Freeman, two base knocks last night, but didn't pick
13:31up an RBI.
13:32We're getting back after tonight with Bye Bye Bye.
13:398 p.m. Eastern, World Series game number five.
13:45I think we got some wagers teed up for the people, Joe.
13:48What is it?
13:49Ah, so we've already seen this thing open up seven and a half.
13:52I do think the run number, the total will start to climb up here, Donnie.
13:57But I'm going to keep it simple because we are seeing some patterns develop here in this
14:02series.
14:03When you have your savage going here today on the road for the first time in now in the
14:08World Series and this Dodgers lineup, especially the top of this lineup, having already had
14:14a chance to see him.
14:15I think the Dodgers, who have done a pretty good job of scoring early, the problem is
14:21they end up giving up that lead before the fifth inning.
14:24We've learned that.
14:26But I think a run in the first inning here with both of these lineups, I think, are going
14:30to be very aggressive, given the fact that they have already seen both starting pitchers
14:34on the mound here tonight.
14:36So I believe that Yerfi here is still at pretty good money here.
14:40And that's exactly where I'm going to go with.
14:42I think both lineups come out swinging here tonight.
14:45I think they're both aggressive.
14:47And I don't necessarily trust the rookie here.
14:50Nerves might get to him early in this game.
14:52And I think the Dodgers, top of the order, could get to him there in the first inning.
14:56So that's the way I'll look at it at plus money.
14:59One swing at a bat.
15:00You love those where you just, again, one swing.
15:02Give me a solo shot.
15:03You can be down to your last out.
15:04Oh, no, I need three hits.
15:05No, you don't.
15:05One swing at the bat goes over the fence.
15:07You plate that run and away you go.
15:09I'm also taking a look at game number five in the World Series tonight for my best bet action.
15:13Freddie Freeman last night went two for four.
15:15Just didn't have anybody in runners in scoring position to knock in.
15:18But also, it's plus 160 price.
15:20It was an underdog there looking to cash.
15:21It didn't.
15:22But tonight, I'm going right back to Freddie Freeman.
15:24Did you know he has six base hits in the World Series?
15:27Half of those base hits are singles here.
15:29Punch it out there.
15:30Get a base knock tonight.
15:32And by the way, Freddie, you go home running two doubles tonight, I'm going to be angry.
15:35Because I just need one single out of Freddie Freeman at a minus 105 price tonight to cash
15:40this ticket in.
15:41Freddie Freeman to get a base hit tonight.
15:43Make it a single.
15:44Let's cash this ticket in.
15:45And by the way, make it a single on the first inning that drives in Shohei Otani for a
15:48one to nothing lead as we grab a 2-0 night before the first inning is even done on our
15:53best bet show.
15:54That's the game plan I'm looking forward to execute tonight.
15:57I love it, Don, because it's got to happen early for the Dodgers at the top of that lineup
16:02because they are getting absolutely nothing at the bottom of that lineup.
16:07Yeah, Pajas, where are you at at this point?
16:09My goodness.
16:09Get a base knock every once in a while.
16:11Get a base knock every once in a while.
