00:00Welcome to the video from the Auto Magazine Tuning Blog about Mercedes-Benz Enturo.
00:09Daimler Buses subjected its first battery electric long-distance vehicle, the Einturo, to an intensive winter test in Finland.
00:17The vehicle's performance was tested in temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees Celsius, strong winds, snow and icy roads.
00:24The 3,000 km journey from Newolum to Hovini served as a test track before the vehicle was put through its paces under extreme conditions.
00:36The engineers particularly analyzed the drive control, the central drive module, the three-speed transmission and the brake management system.
00:45One focus was on the recuperation of the electric motor in order to recover energy as efficiently as possible.
00:51After completing the tests, the return journey was also carried out under its own power, meaning that the total test distance was over 6,000 km.
01:01The focus was particularly on the behavior of the high-performance batteries in extreme cold, the cold start capability and the charging performance at sub-zero temperatures.
01:11The tests confirmed that the tour is fully operational in winter conditions.
01:15Despite icy temperatures and slippery roads, the vehicle remained reliable and safe in operation.
01:24In addition to the cold resistance of the software and interfaces, safety functions such as the electronic stability program and traction control were also tested.
01:35The behavior of the brakes and chassis on wintry roads was also tested.
01:38Another challenge was the fast-charging capability of the batteries.
01:46Here, Daimler buses used only publicly available charging infrastructure, which enabled the vehicle to continue its journey quickly.
01:54The Mercedes-Benz I Inuro is based on the diesel-powered Inuro, but is equipped with a battery-electric drive.
02:01Daimler buses is thus expanding its range of electric buses, now also for rural routes, school buses and shorter journeys.
02:08The Inuro is available in two versions, a version over 12 meters long and the I Inuro measuring just over 13 meters.
02:19Depending on the model, between 50 and 63 seats can be accommodated.
02:26An innovative feature is the option of installing software updates, which reduces maintenance requirements and makes the vehicles even more efficient.
