00:00Welcome to the new video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:08Today, it's all about the Mercedes EQE 504 Modig.
00:13An exciting vehicle that is currently being launched in the US with a new, larger 96kWh battery.

00:24In the US, customers will experience the technical changes of the 2024 J1 model year, which are familiar from Germany, from the first half of 2025.
00:35This means they are lagging behind a little, as the German market has been able to enjoy these innovations for some time now, such as the 118kWh battery for the EQS sedan or the improved recuperation.
00:49The redesigned front of the EQS is also already available in Germany.
00:53But back to the EQE 54MATC in the US.
00:57Here, the sedan gets the aforementioned new 96kWh battery, while in Europe it is only installed in the EQ 350+.
01:05In the EQE SUV, on the other hand, both the 350+, and the 504 Modig get the larger battery.
01:13For the German market, the familiar 90.60kg battery in the EQ 504 Modig will remain.
01:19The reason for this could be due to the availability of battery cells, but there is no precise information on this.
01:27The interesting question is whether this could change if battery cell availability improves.
01:32Perhaps the EQE 504 Modig will get the larger battery in Germany at a later date.
01:41However, further homologation before the switch to the EVA 2M platform seems rather unlikely.
01:46With the planned switch to 800V technology, the battery modules will be wired differently anyway and the engines will also be switched from Siemens Valio drives to Mercedes' own IETS 2.0 large engines.
02:00The future of the EQE also remains exciting, especially with regard to the all-electric C-Class, which is due to be released in mid to late 2026.
02:12With its trunk volume of 430L, the EQE is EAC-Class level and, due to the sloping roofline, it does not offer the same comfort in the rear as a conventional E-Class.
02:22When the electric C-Class comes onto the market, it could be more difficult for the EQE to assert itself.
02:32Only the available Airmatic and perhaps better acoustics could then serve as selling points.
