00:21But now we're talking about the new Chevrolet Silverado IV, which comes with some exciting new features.
00:27First and foremost, the so-called Sidewinder Mode.
00:31Chevrolet introduced the electric Silverado just last month and added a feature that car fans from GMC are already familiar with, the ability to drive diagonally.
00:42What was known as Crab Walk at GMC, Chevrolet has now brought to the Silverado under the name Sidewinder.
00:49This feature can be activated via the infotainment system.
00:52When you put the Silverado into Sidewinder Mode, all four wheels turn in the same direction, allowing the car to move diagonally.
01:04However, this function is limited to low speeds and works for up to 20 kilometers.
01:08This is particularly practical when you want to maneuver out of tight parking spaces or over difficult terrain.
01:17While this function is certainly not for everyday use, it offers a really cool way to steer the Silverado with extra agility, especially in special situations.
01:27If you want to use Sidewinder, you can find the setting under the Controls menu item and then under Rear Steering.
01:36Once selected, the infotainment system shows a short animation and the dashboard also indicates that Sidewinder is now active.
01:44Once activated, the Silverado IV RST can drive diagonally, significantly increasing its freedom of movement.
01:53But this special mode is not the only new feature in the Silverado IV.
01:57Chevrolet is also launching a fresh LT trim for around €75,000.
02:03This variant offers an impressive 400 miles of range.
02:08There are also new battery packs for the different models.
02:11The RST can optionally be equipped with an extended or max range battery, while the Bevit work truck variant offers three battery options, standard, extended and max range.
02:26With the max range battery, the Silverado IVWT can drive up to 492 miles, which is particularly interesting for fleet use.
02:35By the way, those who already own the Silverado IV 1st Edition RST don't have to worry about missing out on Sidewinder mode.
02:46Chevrolet plans to bring this mode to the 1st Edition as an overhaul update early next year, so that existing vehicles can also be retrofitted.
02:56This is a great advantage that modern electric vehicles offer today.
02:59The Silverado IV combines impressive technology with clever features while remaining versatile.
03:09Whether in city traffic, in tight parking garages or on challenging terrain, Sidewinder mode gives the owner even more options for getting the most out of their vehicle.
