00:03Today we're talking about the new Chevrolet Silverado IV Trail Boss,

00:07which was introduced for the 2026 model year as a true off-road version of the all-electric pickup.

00:14With a whole range of improvements, the Trail Boss is the most off-road capable version of the Silverado IV to date

00:20and is intended to prove that electric trucks can hold their own not only on asphalt, but also off-road.

00:25The vehicle comes factory-installed with a 5cm lift and chunky 35-inch tires.

00:33Despite its enormous length of around 5.9m, the electric pickup is comparatively maneuverable thanks to standard all-wheel steering.

00:41The turning circle is only about 12.9m.

00:46There's also the so-called Sidewinder Mode, which steers all four wheels in parallel,

00:51allowing diagonal movements useful in tight off-road passages.

00:55Of course, the vehicle's size also brings with it limitations.

01:01The long wheelbase and widebody don't exactly make it the ideal trail vehicle.

01:08But with a revised front end that improves the approach angle and red tow hooks, at least some traction is achieved.

01:15Those who do manage to hold on tight will have to contend with a curb weight of almost 4 tons.

01:20Especially with the version with the max-range battery, it's correspondingly difficult to pull out again.

01:27Nevertheless, the Trail Boss remains impressively versatile.

01:32With a larger battery, the manufacturer claims it can achieve a range of up to 770 kilometers,

01:37delivering around 725 horsepower and around 150 newton meters of torque to the wheels.

01:43Those who opt for the smaller batteries still get a range of around 660 kilometers.

01:50The Silverado I.O. is also powerful when towing.

01:54With a smaller battery, a trailer load of up to 5.5 tons and a payload of just under 1 ton are possible.

02:00The newly tuned suspension with hydraulic rebound control was specially selected for off-road driving.

02:10It helps absorb the constant shaking and bumping on gravel and dirt tracks,

02:14which should provide more comfort not only off-road but also in everyday driving over potholes.

02:22However, the larger tires may somewhat impair ride comfort at higher speeds.

02:26All of these capabilities come at a price.

02:31The version with the extended battery and a range of around 660 kilometers starts at around 66,000 euros.

02:39If you want the max-range version with full power and maximum range,

02:43you'll have to expect to pay around 82,000 euros.

02:47For this extra cost, however, you get significantly more power, range, and features.

02:53The cheaper version is still very well positioned.

02:56With the Silveradoge Trail Boss,

03:00Chevrolet is showing that electric pickups are no longer limited to urban commuting.
