00:00Welcome to our latest video from the AutoMagazine Tuning Blog, where we introduce you to the
00:11all-new 2025 Chevrolet Equinox. Chevrolet's compact SUV receives a comprehensive facelift
00:20for 2025, sporting a rugged new design reminiscent of a scaled-down version of the Traverse.
00:26The interior has also been completely redesigned. The center console has a fresh new look,
00:34and the striking new dashboard is flanked by two large, circular air intakes.
00:39Taking center stage are two new digital displays, an 11-inch display behind the steering wheel that
00:45houses the instrument cluster, and an 11.3-inch display that provides access to the Equinox's
00:51Google-powered infotainment system. Under the angular hood of the Equinox is an updated version
00:57of the outgoing model, featuring a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces
01:03175 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available as an option.
01:13On all-wheel drive models, the continuously variable automatic transmission is replaced
01:18by a conventional 8-speed automatic transmission. The new Equinox will be launched soon and will
01:24compete with the best SUVs in the segment, including the 10 Best Award-winning Honda CR-V,
01:30the stylish Mazda CX-50, and the redesigned Volkswagen Tiguan.
01:36The Equinox enters its fourth generation for the 2025 model year and is expected to be available in
01:42Chevrolet dealerships by the end of 2024. The price of the new Chevrolet Equinox starts at approximately
01:49âŹ26,996 and goes up to approximately âŹ30,956, depending on the trim level and options selected.
01:58The model lineup includes three different versions, LT, RS, and Active.
02:04We recommend upgrading to either the RS or Active trim.
02:08Both start at the same price, so the decision ultimately comes down to whether you prefer the
02:14more rugged look of the Active or the road-oriented style of the RS.
02:19In either case, you get more features, unique wheel designs,
02:23and the option of a two-tone exterior paint job.
02:29Under the hood of every Equinox model is a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine
02:34producing 175 horsepower. Front-wheel drive models pair this engine with a continuously variable
02:43automatic transmission, while all-wheel drive models use an 8-speed automatic transmission.
02:51During our test drive, we found the Equinox to offer a comfortable ride,
02:55a relaxed handling, and smooth steering, albeit somewhat heavy.
02:59Sporty performance isn't the focus, nor is off-road capability. Acceleration is leisurely,
03:08with the all-wheel drive system propelling the Equinox from 0 to 60 kilometers per hour
03:13in approximately 8.6 seconds. Fuel consumption for the most fuel-efficient Equinox, the front-wheel
03:19drive model, is approximately 11.05 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 11.9 liters
03:26per 100 kilometers on the highway. The all-wheel drive model, on the other hand,
03:31may be more attractive to those planning long highway journeys, as it offers slightly lower
03:36fuel consumption of 9.9 L per 100 kilometers on the highway, although city consumption is slightly
03:42higher at 10.6 L per 100 kilometers. However, we are skeptical of these figures and plan to test the
03:52Equinox on our 120-hour highway route to determine its true efficiency in real-world use.
04:02Inside, the Equinox offers sufficient space for adults and plenty of storage for luggage or a large
04:08grocery trip. The interior is fresh and contemporary in design, with attractive materials and a good mix
04:16of physical and digital controls. Cloth upholstery comes standard, while synthetic leather is optional.
04:27The top-of-the-line active trim gets a mix of vinyl and microfiber for a more upscale look and feel.
04:36A gearshift lever integrated into the center console to save space creates more room for storage,
04:41which also houses a rotary knob for controlling the infotainment system, an optional wireless
04:46smartphone charger, and two cupholders. All Equinox models feature two large digital displays on the
04:54dashboard. An 11.3-inch infotainment display is centrally located and angled slightly toward the
05:01driver. It displays Chevy's latest Google-based infotainment system, which offers navigation via
05:08Google Maps and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot. Directly in front of the driver is a separate 11-inch
05:16digital instrument cluster, which offers various configuration options, allowing the driver to
05:21customize it to their own preferences. Safety and driver assistance features are extensive in the new
05:28Equinox. Chevrolet offers a variety of standard features, such as adaptive cruise control with lane
05:35keeping. Other optional features include a 360 degrees camera system, rear pedestrian detection,
05:44and traffic sign recognition. Key safety features include automated emergency braking with pedestrian
05:51detection, lane departure warning with lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control with lane centering.
05:57Chevrolet also offers a basic warranty covering 3 years or 26,000 kilometers, as well as a powertrain
06:06warranty covering 5 years or 90,000 kilometers. Additionally, there is a free dealer service
06:15appointment within the first year of ownership, which is a nice bonus.
